Starting with the young woman in the store who helped me with placing my order, the crew members who installed the waterline and finally the crew that delivered my appliances. Well after 28 years we were in the market for a new washer and dryer. The old ones served us well but it was time. Our online research was done and we went to Orville's. We have purchased several kitchen appliances there before. These included 2 built-in cook tops, 2 built-in double ovens, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a range hood with fan. On this visit we were greeted by Eric shortly after entering. He was extremely helpful answering our questions and giving suggestions when we asked. All the time doing this without being pushy. He even walked away when he could see we wanted to talk. No pressure. So we decided on our purchased and even got a much better price than the same items we had seen elsewhere. Delivery was 2 days later with an automated call in the early morning giving us a 2 hour window on when they'd arrive. Delivery went well but after they left we realized the drawer in the riser didn't close properly. A call to them the next morning got someone there to look at it within a couple more days and a replacement is now on order. Overall we're very happy with the customer service and the new appliances. Would give negative points here if that was an option. Ultimately, a horrible customer service experience with the manager (Bob) at the Williamsville location, as well as with our sales rep, Eric. Eric sold us a gas range, as well as a side by side refrigerator and freezer. Both cost far more $$$ than they're worth (which I'm sure Eric knew and was laughing his way to the bank to cash his commission check), are a mere year and a half old, and there have been issues with both the gas range and the refrigerator. When I called Orville's to ask about what to do, Bob was so aggressive and rude, I think he may have had to sit down afterward. When I emailed Eric, he responded with nothing more than a "yo", and a link to a part on Amazon. Thank you Josh and the store on Transit for making it easy! Real simple- Friday afternoon - methuselah the dryer decided to stop working. After about five minutes looking on line for a way to troubleshoot it- it came down to two things. Realizing that to put probably 2-3 hundred bucks for the repair- I decided to go shopping. Started with the big boxes and everything seemed "expensive ". De used to just check Orville's and found a super deal on a brand new dryer that worked for the setup I have. Made the call - was offered to pick the item up that same day. Instead Josh took my information, reserved the item for me and sure enough I picked it up the next day at 9am. I am surprised at the negative reviews. I recently bought a washer and dryer and the entire process was easy and completed without problem. The salesperson helped me pick what I needed,the delivery crew kept me updated on the arrival time and set it all up and removed the packing materials. There was a small dent in the bottom of the dryer I wouldn't have noticed but the installer pointed it out and offered to bring a new one or issue a credit. I chose the credit and that was completed quickly with no prompting. All in all, it was an easy competent transaction. Would definitely buy from there again. read more

Here are the two main issues: 1) Their products always change and they don't support them. You could buy top of the line washer /fridge etc and the next year they no longer carry the product and won't service it. 2) The service department is a joke. Constant hang ups with the phone system. They outsource everything, no call backs, on hold for 15 minutes then disconnected. The service experience not good. Once you buy something be prepared for frustrated there is a problem. read more

We purchased a whole kitchen set of appliances as we were remodeling our kitchen. Our salesperson was efficient and knowledgeable enough about the products. They did work with us on delivery and were flexible (reason they got two stars instead of one). The salesperson even worked with us when our Microwave we purchased wouldn't fit in with our cabinetry (again another reason they get two stars). THAT though is where the pleasant experience ends. We swore by Orville's and they were our first and only choice for our new kitchen appliance set. Our main issue was the dishwasher they sold us. The LG dishwasher is JUNK and we had to call within a month to get the control board replaced. It apparently got moisture in it... after only about a month? The dishwasher isn't well made either. Now I don't blame them for the quality of the dishwasher. What I find fault with is the customer service we received afterwards. I agree with other reviewers, it seems after you buy the product they don't want to hear from you ever again (although I imagine they would be happy to sell you another inferior product). They don't want to hear that the products they sell are crap. The representatives we spoke with were rude and didn't even want to give us any advice on how we could solve the problem of a dishwasher that they sold us wouldn't work less than a month after purchase. This dishwasher was pushed on us and I think I know why... They wanted to get rid of a really bad product. After all once it was out the door it isn't their problem anymore. I told the guys from Orvilles' several times to be careful with my brand new hardwood floor when they delivered my new refrigerator. They didn't seem to get it. They looked put out, or surprised about my instructions. But they started setting it right down. I said to put something under it. They ended up not protecting the floor sufficiently, and so there are several divots and gouges in this floor. I called and they directed me to their person who handles these issues. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I was denied a sale at Orville's on Transit road. The reason I was given was that I spent too much time looking around to make a decision on which product I wanted to buy. This is no way to handle business. I went in a Few times to look at washer and dryer machines and I have a full right to do that before I made a $1000+ purchase. Bob, who is a manager at the transit road location, is not only rude but racist. He refused to make a sale to us even though we were ready to purchase simply because we "took too long to make a decision". No business should deny a sale to a customer just for simply looking and spending time to do research. We spent max an hour or two looking around - but Bob claimed that we spent 8 hours looking around. Even if we did that, we have every right to do so because we are making a big purchase. Only criticism I have, that costed them a star, is that they should have more locally stock items. I recently purchased 2 new dishwashers from the Transit road , Clarence,NY location. They were delivered to two different locations. The first was installed no problem by my own appliance guy. The second was delivered with a crushed steel flex feed hose due to improper packaging and loading of the unit. The Delivery driver immediately notified his supervisor and took pictures as I also did. Supervisor stated he would notify the store. Several days passed I heard nothing so I called the purchase location. The sales man was not there. Called back the next day, Steve (sales person) said he would have a replacement hose sent out the next day! A week passes NO hose. I call the store again speak to Bob the manager, he was going to "take care of the issue". 10 days pass ...nothing. Call the store again- Bob- now claims it is not a part that comes with the dishwasher, yet here it is in my hand and in the pictures. I was lied to , being told initially, it is part of the dishwasher assembly and can not be simply replaced the whole assembly would have to be replaced yet they did not send a repair person and I already knew and idiot off the street could remove this hose with and adjustable wrench. "Bob is a very foolish man, as he has cost his location hundred of dollars in lost future sales as I own many rental properties. Refusing to stand by the new product he has sold...simply BAD business. This idiot took off the hose and purchased a replacement at home depot for $32.00 and my appliance guy has installed it 38 days after purchase. Additional costs and a huge waste of my time. I have never been to Orville's and had an excellent experience. How can that be? I live out of state and my elderly mother's refrigerator failed on a Friday night causing her great anxiety. I spoke with her Saturday morning and then Yelped appliance sales/repair stores near my her home. Orville's came up. A couple of phone calls and less than 24 hours later on Sunday morning, my mother was enjoying her new refrigerator. Problem solved. I worked with Rick and he recommended the correct appliance for the situation and at a sales price which was spot on with other retail sales. The transaction was processed over the phone and the receipt faxed within an hour of the deal. Finally, the gals answering the Orville's phones were exceptionally friendly and good communicators. I had purchased an appliance 2 weeks before Covid. I was told they would hold it until by construction was done. We had put down 1/3 of the cost to hold it. Then Covid hit, the world stopped. When our construction started in October we called to get the the appliance delivered. They did not have it. They must have given my oven to another customer. When I kept calling I was not treated nicely. I was told "we do not hold appliances for over 1 year". It was only 6 months and if they had Called me we would have taken delivery early. Why did they take and keep my deposit if they had given away the appliance I wanted? Not a problem. Covid shut everything down for at least 10 weeks completely. I purchased the cafe line, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. Due to salesman error, I cancelled the refrigerator and had an independent contractor come for the stove. I received the dishwasher. They did not take the box/pallet that was promised to me by the salesman they would take. The bottom was still wrapped. There was no dents/scratches on the visible area. My installer couldn't get there for a week due to a vacation. 10 days later, when he took the cardboard off the bottom, he noticed that it was creased OUTWARDS on both sides of the front door, something a human could not create. When I called the store, I was told there was nothing they could do. It's a brand new $1000 dishwasher that wasn't installed. **Come to find out, two stores had floor models that have that same crease, so they knew about the defect and wanted to unload these defective dishwashers on an elderly woman. I called and talked to numerous managers, was hung up on, berated, and at one point I found out the store still had my full credit card on file. I then brought all this to the attention of the person in charge of customer service, and when I said I understand your position of 48 hours, which I never signed, and I said this is obviously something that happened outside of the human element, and if she was offering no help, I said unfortunately I will have to pursue other avenues to handle this, be it my credit card or what have you, and she said "is that a threat"? I'm a 76 year old woman. Pursuing other avenues is not a threat. I was blown away at the unprofessionalism coming from not only the store managers but also the head of customer service. I will not endorse a company that doesn't take a customer's issues seriously and treats them so horribly. My wife and I purchased our first home, and the refrigerator did not convey. We headed to Orvilles and bought a mid range Frigidaire. Within a month, the freezer fan had blown and was making a noise like a small moped running constantly in our kitchen. We thought "no worries! It's under warranty!" Wrong. Frigidaire took 5 MONTHS worth of half assed fixes and service calls to refund our purchase to replace the fridge. It was a nightmare. The shining light in the situation was Brandon at Orvilles. He kept in touch with us, helped guide us through the process, and even set us up with a loaner fridge while we waited for Frigidaire to get their act together. I purchased a new stove from Orvilles (Webster, NY) and had it delivered on 12/22/20. The stove was making a very loud grinding sound the first time I turned it on. The installer did not cycle the stove on during the installation visit because he said it was too cold and could crack the glass. I called Orvilles the next day and they said "sorry, there is nothing we can do, you'll have to call the manufacturer." I called the manufacturer, and they said "because it is within 24 hours of install, it is the responsibility of the Orvilles to handle the problem". The manufacturer put a service request into Orvilles to have them service the stove. I called Orvilles to set up an appointment for the service visit. They said "sorry, we will not help you, but instead recommend another company that can service the stove". Keep in mind, Orvilles does have a service department, but they refused to handle it on their end and instead wanted to involve a 3rd party to service it. They did not want to deal with a warranty claim because they lose money on the call. I called and set up the service visit with County Wide Appliance (the 3rd party vendor). The first visit was on 1/4/21. The technician diagnosed the problem as a failed convection fan motor that was caused by a bad installation. The part was ordered and not installed until 1/12/21. While we were waiting for the part to arrive, the stove intermittently shutoff during the bake cycle. We thought maybe it was an anomaly so we ignored it. Since the installation of the new confection fan motor, the stove has shut off during the bake cycle 5-7 times. Power was not lost or intermittent at this time. I called Orville's and they said "it's not our problem, it's either County Wide's problem or the manufacturer". They would not assist in any way shape or form. I then called County Wide appliance and they said they could order a control board as it is most likely the problem. However, there is concern that because of the failed control board, it could have damaged other components causing wear on their life cycle or cause future safety concerns. With that said, we purchased a new stove and feel that the stove should be replaced in entirety. We feel it is a lemon because 2 parts have failed and who knows how much damage this has caused to other parts. We fear this is an unsafe appliance. Also, it's possible the installer (Orvilles) may have damaged the stove during transit/installation which is why the convection fan motor and control board have failed. In which case, it's not the manufacturers fault, but Orvilles. The installer should be held accountable for this damaged, unsafe oven. We paid for a new stove and feel as though we should receive a new one (not a broken one with lower quality after market parts.). I've left two voicemails with the service manager and they have still not called me back. It has been almost 2 months since we have purchased a new stove and still have no resolution. read more

We bought a new Frigidaire fridge on Nov. 27,2020. It has not worked since then. The freezer defrosts anything in it. The fridge doesn't maintain the proper temperature. We called and the assistant manager "Mike" told us that that model would "never work properly". Yet they sold it to us. We were told that we had to deal with Frigidaire directly and that Orvilles on Transit in Williamsville would not help us. It has been 3 months and two repair companies and 4 repairmen and we still don't a working refrigerator. I stopped buying appliances at Best Buy because I was constantly getting the run around by the Geek Squad. So I switched to Orville's. For years, I was happy with the service. It seemed like it was local and efficient. That is what drew me to them in the first place. I hope this never changes. The local service team of Jeff, Eileen and Damen resolved my issue with my machine quickly and efficiently. They were sympathetic to my needs and made me feel that my business is appreciated. I'd give no stars if I could. So my dishwasher died day after thanksgiving. Decided to wait out crowds and go Sunday(27th) to Transit road store. Bought dishwasher real easy. Indicated and was VERY clear that if it couldn't be installed that week, waiting until the 10th(Saturday). Asst Mgr Paul H. said no problem it would have to be "ordered" and would take a week. I said, perfect I am out of town next week so let's do the 10th. I wrote a check out of my emergency account and I thought we were good. Nope. Wrong. Try again, Fast forward to the 8th, and I call and ask what time on Saturday it would come. I was informed it would be the following Monday. I said excuse me, and explained the story. The girl put me on hold and got GREG the store manager, he told me because I wrote a check they had to hold 10 business days. Lie #1. A. I was never told that, if I was, I would have went to bank next day and got cash. B. It was 9 business days, and my check cleared on 29th... Lie #2, Paul told me they had to order, GREG said that wasn't the case and it was in stock. I told them unacceptable and I would most likely cancel. They didn't seem to care. I emailed Paul because it was his day off. He called me next day to say there was misunderstanding. I said no, you told me this, and at no point did he admit fault, apologize or offer anything to make me happy. I cancelled my order and now I am waiting for my refund check. I went today, and bought from a big box store. Out of spite, I bought a $2000 refrigerator too. I always say "buy local" but in this case they operate more corporate then the big box. This doesn't account for the 2006 incident when they installed my new fridge and forgot to cap water line, and it ended up leaking into basement ceiling.... read more

My mother in law purchased a Whirl Pool dryer last year and paid the extra for the service package. The dryer stopped working within 12 months. Over a 6 week period they came out 5 times to repair. I asked them at the fourth visit to replace the dryer. They would not. My elderly mother in law had to go to a laundry mat for 6 weeks. They finally repaired the dryer but no money was refunded. A dryer should not stop working within a year and a company should not be delaying repairs for six weeks. Will never return here again. Horrible customer service. read more

I HATE this store. I never use the word hate but the fact that my anxiety level has reached its peak requires the use of this word. I made my purchase about 3 years ago and still have reasons to hate them to this day. First off, they installed my washer and dryer in an order that makes no sense so that when I transfer items from the washer to the dryer, I'm reaching over the dryer door. They needed to switch the order of machines or switch the door direction of the dryer. That's where my anger from tonight is coming from because I finally got fed up enough that I tried reversing the door but I was unsuccessful at it and the door now isn't fully attached. Obviously this isn't my only reason to hate this store. 2. The store refused to follow one of their own policies for price matching, 3. The delivery guy left a hose that needed to be installed next to the washer, 4. The hose left was too short for the connection (and another delivery man said that he could tell the guy just didn't feel like going to his truck to get a longer one), 5. The delivery guy kinked a hose instead of using another part that he left next to the washer that prevents kinking, 6. They didn't leave me a water line kit that was part of my order, 7. They didn't install the fridge door the correct direction (as listed on the order) and when they came back to fix it, 8. The delivery guy made a snarky remark to me about how I should have noticed before they drove away. Even better, when my parents went to this store last year, they used inappropriate sarcasm so they went elsewhere for their appliances for their new build. The customer service here is great as are the prices! Came in the day that our washing machine decided it no longer wanted to work. It was old and had been fixed many times, so we knew it was time for a replacement. Looked around a bit before the salesman came over. We told him our washing needs, etc. and he recommended a GREAT washer that was affordable and had lots of exciting features (no agitator, water-efficient, etc.). I had to use Orvilles as they provide appliances for my home builder Forbes. I was hesitant to use Orvilles as they had misled me as to the arrival date of a washer/dryer set in the past. At first I was impressed with the salesman who worked on the Forbes account and was happy with the outcome. I have had the fridge now for about 5 months and when the ice maker quit working I stopped in to request a service call. The first guy basically gave the number to call anbd I called service and left a message for a return call. They never called. I then stopped back in 3 days later and spoke to my sales man who said he would take care of it. I went in three days later after no return call and the guy at the desk said everthing needs to go through the Forbes salesman and that he would leave a note. After getting no repsonse again I called the manager and she finally got the "service" department to call me. THERE IS NO BENEFIT TO HAVING A LOCAL PROVIDER WHEN YOU CANT GET THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HANDLE AN ICE MAKER REPAIR. I spent about 14 grand on various appliances and they seem to create roadblocks to servicing their items. I've made 2 appliance purchases at Orville's in the last year. Both were "emergency" purchases as my dryer and then my fridge died. Both experiences were great. Salesmen were helpful, friendly and not at all pushy. Selection was very good, prices were comparable to every other major retailer in the area. Delivery was fast and very efficient. My only complaint was the delivery guys didn't put anything down on the floor and our kitchen floor was a mess with snow and slush. But that wasn't a huge problem for us. This was our first experience at Orvilles. We did a complete remodel of our kitchen and needed a dishwasher and cooktop. On our first visit we met Dan Hearn, a knowledgeable and likeable sales person. He advised us without pressuring us to purchase. We bought a stainless LG cooktop that works well and includes a center burner that boils water incredibly fast. Our Bosch dishwasher is a dream - incredibly quiet and gets our glassware so clean it sparkles. The prices were fair, and comparable to the big box stores with the added feature of great service and the confidence that, if our appliances don't perform as described, Orvilles would make it right. Absolutely horrible to deal with. On hold for 10 minutes, then disconnected. Rude service consultant. Had to wait a week for service. Was told that I would have a morning appointment. Took a half day off work only to find out that they changed my appointment to an afternoon appointment! I had to cancel the appointment, while again working with a rude service consultant. Orville's has lost both my appliance purchase and service business. read more
