I'm a firm believer in service after the sale. Initial purchase experience was good. But, and there's always a but, not happy with their service contracts rebates & service after the sale. The convoluted paperwork for the rebates is time consuming and idiotic. Then you find out they are not rebates but vouchers that must be used in their store. Unfortunately, the amount is so small all you can buy is nickel and dime products like cleaning products. Of course they don't have the products in stock. So they have to order them. After waiting over two months they call and say they're here and "we need you to pick them up asap" because they need the space. So lo and behold when I get there they don't have everything. But, will contact me when the rest of the stuff shows up. It has now been 6-months and they haven't contacted me. I sent two emails to Jason and he responded with "I'll check." Purchased our new home and bought all kitchen and laundry appliances from Orville's in June 2024. They came and installed our new washer with brand new hoses and we assumed everything was great. Friday 5/9/2025 I began to notice our hardwood floors feeling wavy by the washing machine. I felt the floor in areas I could reach, and it was not wet in the front. The machine is in a tight space about an inch between the wall and appliance. So, I shined a flashlight to see in the small gap between the wall and the machine and noticed it was wet in the back and the hardwoods were discolored from water. I immediately called the Greece store where we bought the washer. I told the women about the issue, and she informed me it was under warranty still so gave me the number for GE. I made a service appointment with GE and the technician came out to look at the washer 5/14. When he came out to diagnose Pat discovered indication of a leak coming from the hose. He then went onto say during install sometimes the installer cross threads the connection creating a not so tight seal allowing water to leak. As a result, this has led to significant damage to our hardwood floors. I then went to Orivlles with this new information. I supplied photos of the connection, and the floor damage. I also supplied the technician note from Pat who came out which says...WORK PERFORMED EXPLAIN OPERATION FILL HOSE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED PROBLEM DESC DEFECTIVE FILL HOSE (HOT) . Brian from Orville's calls me this morning and says to use my home insurance. Well its not covered by home insurance because it was due to improper installation which cross threaded the hose making it defective and creating a major leak which had been going on slowly over time due to poor install. The salesmen on the phone said the price was $1099.00 and it would take 2 to 4 weeks for delivery. The salesman said I would have to come into the store to make a deposit if I wanted the stove, as they wouldn't take a credit card over the phone. The next day I called another appliance store after looking at their website. This store said the price was as quoted and it was in stock and could be delivered the following week. Purchased appliances and the dishwasher was packaged but my installer wasn't able to install right away so when we open packaging to install the dishwasher was destroyed, even though packaging was in tact. I called and they wouldn't take it back. You only have 48 hours apparently. Also, the washer dryer I purchased to was caved in on top but because it was one piece and stood taller than I could see I didn't notice until I got a ladder out. Wow! This is a huge store. Much bigger inside than it looks, it's extremely neat, clean and very brightly lit. Not a place to shop with a migraine or hangover (neither of which I had). I walked in and was greeted in within seconds by a nice-appearing and very knowledgeable man, Tan, who proceeded to show me the dishwashers and range hoods I was looking for. Without even looking at the tags, he knew almost every model's decibel rating, features and color availability. That was very impressive, considering they had over 20 dishwashers on display. They carry low-end Amana, more well-known, better-rated brands such as Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, and Kitchenaid and higher-end Bosch. I had narrowed it down to one in particular, and Tan printed out my two favorites and attached his business card as I requested. I noticed that he's the assistant sales manager. That could explain (but not necessarily) why he was so familiar with all the different brands, different features and colors. Did I mention I was impressed? The only thing he had to look up on the computer was a particular model and color's delivery date. Next, I looked at range hoods, located in the very back (left) corner if the store. They have only about 8 choices. I easily narrowed it down to two, my favorite being an Italian brand, XO, followed very closely by USA-manufactured Broan. Both were close in price. Broan had halogen lights, which will get hot. XO had LED lights, and had a more sleek and slim design...but just a bit. The other Italian-made brand was also great, but expensive, and my contractor would have to remove some cabinets, so, not an option. They easily had over 30 refrigerators displayed, and at least as many stoves. They also sell wine refrigerators, garbage disposals, microwaves, and window air conditioners. To the left, just inside the door, there are some scratch and dent air conditioners and microwaves, all clearly marked. I asked Tan if there were any rebates on the two particular dishwashers I was interested in. He said unless I was a Fairport resident, no. I'm glad he was up on everything...no playing a frustrating game of "20 questions". I have no doubt he can go far in management. And I hope he does. read more

Easiest appliance purchase I've ever made. Oh, wait, the only appliance purchase I've ever made. For 13 years, since I bought my house, I've never had to buy an appliance. The house came with them and they've lasted for a long time. But finally, the washer bit the dust (probably lasted 20+ years)... So with the advice of the repairman who said we should get a new one, we asked for recommendations on something that will LAST for a long time. He suggested a Speed Queen, and so began our search. This Orville's location just so happened to have an "out of the box" deal on a Speed Queen. We were pretty much set on buying this brand, and looked at a few other places. Orville's had the cheapest prices and with this out of the box deal, we figured we'd hit the jackpot. The piece was discounted because the door hinge is a little rough, and not anything with the mechanics at all (well, it was installed today, so we'll see what happens), but I was pleased with the experience. Andrew, the sales rep was pleasant. Straight forward. Helpful. The whole experience consisted of the 20 minute drive to the store, a few minutes inspecting the machine, and 5 minutes filling out the forms. Quick and easy delivery and installation happened today (they offer it within two days), and they carry away the old one. Actually, the carry-away was the service I appreciated the most. I didn't want to have to deal with that old metal heap, and the price was reasonable. I would probably come here again based on this first experience. I know others seem to have had some negative experiences, but I am happy thus far. I'll update if anything changes. read more

I bought a refrigerator and within a year the freezer door rusted out. Even though it was under warranty since I only had it for 8 months, they said they couldn't do anything because it was cosmetic. The bottom door is fine so there must of been some sort of problem with the materials. They completely wiped their hands of it. I will never shop here again. read more

Review is not as much for the store as the delivery service. The store was nice. Good selection, and I've gotten a few goods from them with no problems. I'd give the store and the salesmen 5 stars. They took extra precautions to stay 6 feet away, only limited ppl allowed, etc. However, the delivery and installation of the dryer time was horrendous. They called at 7:29. Did not leave message. I had to call them to get delivery time. 11:30-1:30. At 10:23 I get automated call that they will be there in 10 minutes! We barely had time to get ready... and then the worst part. I know that Coronavirus is hopefully a once in a lifetime event, but... there was no mask, no protection, no social distancing from installers as they came in, moved stuff and our clothes instead of asking us move our stuff, and proceeded to walk all through the house, to find a gas line. If you are going to some one else's house, with unknown transmissibility from this virus, at least protect yourself/workers, if not the people living there. Spent about 8 grand in Orville's appliance store got all Samsung brand I bought a refrigerator and microwave and oven and a dishwasher and now my oven water gets between the two pieces of glass on the door so to me that is a problem that means it's not sealed correctly. I don't care if it was one drop off, it was a gallon of water water gets between the two pieces of glass on the door. Your door is not sealed correctly and it's going to lose heat, so I'm told to call Samsung that's who has my warranty and they tell me it's a maintenance problem and want me to take my door apart and clean it. My oven was delivered to me at the end of March so it's barely 5 months old. I shouldn't have to be taking anything apart. I shouldn't have to be touching my oven to fix anything at the price I spent sup Samsung you suck or bills you suck so you cause you didn't back me up this is ridiculous that I spent this much money on an oven and they expect me to take it apart and clean it. It was a great experience from the knowledgeable sales people to the carefully scheduled delivery and excellent notification system. I got a next day delivery scheduled in a two hour window with notification of when the driver's were on the way and expected arrival time. Excellent selection of appliances from quality manufacturers. Pricing competitive with the lowest price in Rochester and fully installed including removal of the old machine for $79 as opposed to the typical $50 removal charge with additional fees for "installation" from the big box suppliers. I shopped at the Greece, N.Y. store. Salesmen/women were great, knowledgeable and patiently explained everything to myself and my wife. I first ordered a dishwasher and they installed it in 20 minutes. I couldn't believe it. It run flawlessly and we are very satisfied with it. Later we bought a dryer for our relocated laundry room. They couldn't install it at that time because all of the plumbing, electricity wasn't in yet. Since then, we installed it and the dryer runs very well and we are very happy with both the appliances and the wonderful service from Orville's. Mike (Webster, NY) is a great sales person and follows you through from purchase through delivery....He does not want you to rush your decision, always being informative about features and the appliance(s) being considered. He even keeps a tape measure in his pocket so bring all of your measurements to make sure appliances fit, especially the fridge. If you find a lower price or have other changes, he is eager to please if it is possible. I'll start by saying we have been repeat customers at Orville's Webster location over the years and never had a problem until our last purchase. However, the way it was handled keeps them first on our list when we need new appliances! We have purchased a few washing machines there over the years, but found ourselves in need of a new one. Lots of dogs and a husband who is a grease monkey means lots of laundry! Initially, we bought a Maytag. Honestly, I'd never buy another Maytag! But we did...and bought the 5-year warranty, so yes, we still have it...but needed something BETTER!!!! So we purchased a Speed Queen. Very expensive, but commercial grade and better built from inside out. Problem began when first installation team delivered it, told me wait 30 minutes to run "test cycle" due to cold temps being on truck overnight, then they headed back to Buffalo. When we ran it, holy cow! It was banging and clunking so loud it scared the heck out of me and moving across the basement floor like it was trying to escape! Turned it off, called them back, they sent another team out. Discovered the first team left the SHIPPING BOLTS in place! So when it was running the drum was banging against them. The outside of the machine was also dented on both sides. So the SECOND team removed the two bolts from the back and basically told us "IT WOULD BE FINE". WHAT???!!! They left...honestly I wasn't confident they could fix it anyways...and we went up to Webster Orville's to vent. Our favorite salesperson, Christian, and his store manager whose name I did not get, told me it was NOT FINE!!!! They contacted the delivery/install group in Buffalo, TOLD them to get us a new machine and we had it in just a day or two. This time, LAMAR and another installer came. LAMAR IS AMAZING! Honestly, I will never buy another appliance without requesting LAMAR as my delivery/install technician! He had been to our home in the past with other appliances and we NEVER had a problem. Not only is he knowledgeable and if he has questions he gets the answers so the job is done right, but he is friendly and professional. Great personality, great smile, such an asset to Orville's! Lamar discovered they ALSO had left the shipping bracket inside the front of the machine, and that the base to elevate it was not mounted properly. He had to order an extra bolt for us because one fell inside the unit and refused to be found. He took it all apart, turned it every which way, could hear it moving around, but it was being stubborn. Yes...Lamar had them order us a replacement bolt because it wasn't done right the first time. Lessons learned: Should have listened to Christian and bought the pricey Speed Queen to begin with, and...ALWAYS REQUEST LAMAR! Ridiculous policies, even worse customer service. You have 48hrs from when you receive your item to install it and make sure it works, something that wasn't relayed to me when I bought my dishwasher. I installed the dishwasher a week after I bought it, after the first use no dishes were dry. After a few more uses the dishwasher smelled horrendous. About a month out now and nothing on the top 2 racks gets cleaned. So I called, thinking Orville's would stand behind the products they sell, silly me ... they pawned it off on the manufacture saying it's their problem and they won't help me out. I should have just bought the product from Frigidaire outright and cut out the middle man since they are essentially completely useless. Terrible experience, bought 4 appliances for a newly remodeled kitchen and asked them to wait 4 weeks before having them delivered due to the renovation taking longer than expected. Appliances were delivered and I discovered that another model refrigerator had been sent. When I called the store I was told that the model I bought was no longer available and they had picked another one without notifying me ahead of time. The Manager blamed the salesperson for not calling me and took no responsibility. Microwave was delivered in an opened box without mounting hardware, went to the store to get the proper mounting hardware and was given wrong hardware. The installers opened the UNOPENED box 2 weeks later, and discovered a huge dent in the side of the microwave...actually, it was caved in. The store Assistant Manager said they had a 48jr return policy and directed me to Orville's customer service, who stood by the same policy. After 2 weeks of back and forth with the manufacturer, customer service, and the store itself, the store manager finally spoke with the customer service manager and agreed to exchange it after I left a scathing 1-star review on Google, (which I later amended). Ironically, when I went to pick up the new Microwave, the side of the box was caved in, but no damage seen on the microwave. A month later, after 2 failed attempts to get a properly sized fridge from Lowe's, we returned to Orville's with our radar up, and had an awesome experience. They set up a delivery for Sunday said they would call Sunday morning to give a delivery time, at 8 they called to say they would be there between noon and 2. I was out of the house and the truck driver showed up at 10:30. Then they tried to foist a dented washer on me - then eventually they delivered a washer - OUT OF A BOX it and now it has stopped working. The WORST customer service ever!!! Called Orville's and ordered a refrigerator over the phone in 3minutes. The unit was delivered. The freezer does not seal, took over 8 days and 1/2hr on the phone to schedule a service call. The service call finally happens...service tech says "it's just the seal needing ti be softened, I need a blow dryer"...uses the blow dryer and says "all set"! 2 days later I look and all my food is frosted over again and the seal isn't even touching the refrigerator at the top. I can feel cold air coming out of the top!! Food ruined AGAIN!! Call Orville's (on hold AGAIN for 1/2 hr before Danielle picks up, no help there, they can get a service tech out in 2 weeks. Says they will order a part.....um, what part? You don't know what's wrong since you just had a tech here that "thought" he knew what the issue was but never made sure that the freezer wasn't pissing cold air out the top. Now 3 weeks later, I still don't have a freezer that works and the CSR Danielle won't even let me talk ti a manager. She said to call whirlpool......why would I call whirlpool, I bought a unit from Orville's that is defective. After arguing with her to let me talk to a manager for 10 minutes she finally put Eileen on the phone which says she can get someone out in my area The next day with another four hour timeframe to wait that might be in the morning but might be in the afternoon, great help Eileen... They also don't replace units, or compensate you for cost of items lost because of frozen over in freezer burned, I will never order some thing from Orvilles ever again!!! read more

Best appliance store I've ever shopped at. Back when my boyfriend and I moved we went there to check out their prices. The staff was amazing. They never tried to trick us or mislead us. The gentleman that helped us spent 15 minutes on the computer trying to find us every deal possible. He found us a bundle deal for LG so we bought six LG appliances right then and there. RECOMMENDATION-DO NOT PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY! We have purchased a stove and washer at Orville in Webster and it was a good experience. When we purchased the LG Washer almost 5 years ago, we bought the extended warranty to extend it to 5 years. We needed service this week and we are still within that 5 year period. Called Wednesday evening for service--New Leaf is the company that actually administers the warranty service. They took the information and said they would call back with a date the technician would be scheduled. We didn't hear back so I called Thursday mid morning and was told the service order was sent to Orville's. I called Orville's they said they were sending it back to New Leaf because they didn't have a technician available for about two weeks. I called New Leaf that afternoon and they couldn't tell me when we would see a service technician. I'll also note that New Leaf uses offshore call centers and were difficult to understand. The second person kept putting me on hold for minutes at a time without warning leading me to believe they hung up. There was a barking dog a several points in the conversation. It's currently 4 days later and I have no idea when they plan to service the machine. read more

I have purchased appliances from Home Depot and Lowes in the past and never had I received the time nor information about appliances that I did at Orville's. The salesman John at the Rochester location was phenomenal. I didn't feel rushed, he took the time to answer ALL of my 1,000 questions and did it with a smile. I had my appliances delivered at my convenience and I even needed to move the delivery up and they accommodated me. The day of the delivery the 2 guys introduced themselves by name John and Nick and were nothing but pleasant. They even took the time to explain to me how the appliances work and how to take care of them. We had a contractor working on our bathroom and even he had commented how knowledgeable they were and that it was nice to see them take the time to explain the care and use of the appliances. He and I agreed that you rarely see that type customer service these days. I absolutely loved my experience at Orville's and it will definitely be the place I shop for all my appliances!! read more

Shopping for a new refrigerator for my garage. Wasn't looking to spend a fortune but also not the cheapest available either. Settled for a Samsung slightly under $800. Our salesman George was helpful. During the sales transaction I asked if Orville's offered a Veterans discount? George looked down at the price of the refrigerator as to insinuate that we weren't spending enough. He then said that he had to ask the manager. The manager was sitting directly next to us. He proceeded to check the price of the Refrigerator at Lowe's and Home Depot. Came back and said sure we'll give you a veteran's discount of $3.00. I was taken back. Apparently that was the price difference. I guess to answer my question they do not offer a Veteran's discount. Pretty insulting. Next time tell the customer our price is already lower than our competitors. Don't be insulting. Also when they deliver the appliances they do NOT take the cardboard and other trash with them. Went in to purchase a dishwasher. While the salesperson was friendly the delivery and installation was a nightmare. I specifically asked for a morning delivery prior to an appointment being set up. On delivery day I received a call saying they would be coming in the afternoon. Had to wait another week for a second attempt at delivery. Finally a second appointment was set up and when they arrived they went in and in less than 10 minutes said they could not install the dishwasher because the floor was to high and the old one would not come out. They called me and left. Within an hour my tenant removed the screws and removed it herself. They never even made an attempt to removing it. They just looked at it and left. Called Orville's for service--it seems they no longer service appliances unless they are under warranty. No other appliance repair will touch it because they cannot get parts. 1. I had ordered a Maytag dishwasher from a local big box store and paid for it over the phone and requested delivery in a month because of the Covid issue it was a bit longer. When I went into that store to sign an installation contract (required by them) I was told they had no order on record, no record of payment and that the dishwasher was no longer available. I left the store called the credit card company got all the info on the original transaction and went back into the store to show the manager. He said I can't help you. I spent three hours on the phone with customer service the next day waiting for one hour before they even answered. They refunded my money and found a replacement but I had to pay $250.00 more for an equivalent dishwasher. Well the next day I received a text that due to delivery issues they would not deliver and install until July 28!! I was so frustrated I called and canceled the order. I called Orville's they were open and I went right up to the store. They were busy but had enough staff to take care of me right away. They actually had the exact same Maytag dishwasher in stock and on sale for a lot less. I was blown away when they said they could install it the following week!! Each person we interacted with was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The dishwasher showed up on time and installation was quick. The two men that did the install were very professional and friendly - a lot of smiles and laughing. I would highly recommend Orville's to my family and friends based on our recent experience. Best place to buy appliances if you are on the market. A Buffalo based company I have been buying from them for years and was very pleased to see after I move to Rochester that they opened a location. Now one in Henrietta. The customer service is excellent. We recently purchased a built-in oven and the two installers were pleasant and knowledgeable and went over and beyond installing the unit. We noticed there was a very small dent in the door after the installers left and they ordered a new one without question. Very competitive pricing, excellent service, wide product range. This is an update of my satisfactory purchase experience last year of a "niche" (infrequently purchased anywhere in Rochester area) washing machine & dryer that was special ordered. I thought there was a problem with the washer (water on the floor) that has an extended warranty. The store manager (Lucas) expedited everything in a courteous, efficient way - to get Mr. Appliance to check it out ASAP. Turned out the problem was in my plumbing NOT the washer. I could not be more disappointed in this store. There have been issues in the past with them making promises they couldn't keep (delivery dates, products, etc.). They are currently (8/20) running a sale on a product they don't have and can't get. If you are looking for an LG Dryer- which they are STILL advertising all over- you won't find any of that product at Orville's. So, they lure you in with sales on things they don't have only to try to upsell you on things they do have that are quite a bit more expensive. I'm done. read more

I have used Orville's twice in the past without any issues with the appliances or the store. We are in the process of building a new home, so I needed to get appliances to the cabinet person. So back in March, I ordered a package of LG appliances for the house. The salesperson Jason Kramer told me to leave a deposit and when the builder was ready for the appliances to pay the balance. I told him that the cabinet person needed the exact appliances because the cabinets were being built around them. He assured me that the items would be set aside in the warehouse and wrote on my receipt "will need end of June". Fast forward to when I need the appliances (July now due to COVID). I go to the store as requested to let them know that we need the appliances. ONLY THEN does someone tell me that the dishwasher is not in stock and is backordered and they have no idea when it will be available. The salesperson literally tells me "I do not trust anything the manufacturer says at this point and cannot give you an estimated time". Ok. Being someone that works in healthcare, I understand the pandemic, however, what I do not understand is the complete lack of notification and attention to customer service. I asked why no one called me to let me know so I could explore other options and was simply told "We didn't know". What? How did you not know if this is something you regularly advertise and sell? We discussed options which were either 1. a delayed installation (time completely unknown) or 2. a totally different brand of dishwasher, which the finish would not match. Since they had the exact dishwasher I purchased on the floor, I inquired about whether or not they would sell me the floor model. This is something the salesperson would not even ask his manager about and flat out refused to do. When I inquired with the manager Jason Wilson, he literally scoffed at the suggestion and replied, "If we sold floor models, we wouldn't have anything to show the customers". I know for a fact that other local appliance stores willingly sell floor models of their appliances. Also, what the purpose is of having an appliance to show that is so backordered you cannot give an estimated time of arrival of, I am not sure. When I pressed the manager a little more for a rationale for this and explained that 4 months ago these appliances were ordered, he literally turned to me with his hands open at his side and said, "What do you want me to say to you? The manufacturer isn't giving us any answers and you bought a crappy product line." He actually told me he sold me a crappy product line (LG). He was so unprofessional and dismissive during this interaction that I actually had another customer in the store approach me and apologize, saying they could not believe the way I was being treated and to stick to my guns. I was not advocating for anything free or discounted, but simply asking for what I had already bought to be produced. I will finish by saying that I fully understand the state of our world and know a pandemic affects normal business. But COVID-19 does not excuse terrible customer service and treating your customers like crap. Especially when people are trying to support local businesses instead of big box places like Home Depot and Lowes (who, by the way, DID have this dishwasher in stock). At the end of the day, I cancelled my order and went to another local appliance store, Charlotte Appliances, and Jami and Rich greeted me at the door with compassion and understanding AND wound up getting me a better priced deal that was all in stock in their warehouse. read more
