They were communicative, friendly and prompt. Service was great. The tech was helpful. Had to come out twice, as the issue at first seemed to be a cleaning that was required and then was determined to be a regulator for the dryer. Only problem I have with them is that most companies I've worked with will apply the service call fee (~$125 in this case) towards the actual repair if a repair is needed, and Register Appliance does not. Generally, the service call fee is to cover the cost of sending a service tech out when no actual service is needed--and maybe covering a very, very simple fix (like tightening a loose hose or something). In this company's case, this is not true. To be clear, I was informed of this when I booked them, so this was NOT a surprise, but I was also in a bit of a tough spot, as my mother needed a working dryer immediately. read more

Dustin called before coming so I knew when to expect him. I needed my dryer fixed after it was making a loud squealing noise. He knew what to do after taking it apart and tested the problem. He came prepared with the parts. He was also very knowledgeable and had patience with my questions as well as with me wanting to vaccum the dust and lint. I did not have a good experience with this compamy. Initially, the service man came in and gave me a verbal estimate for a dishwasher sump repair after speaking with me and hearing the parts that i had replaced in weeks prior. I had t ask for the estimate and when i got it there was work included that did not need to be done. Had I not looked, i would have paid for that. But the Customer Service Manager out of Buffalo was very aggressive in getting everything scheduled. Then getting a revised estimate she took days and emailed the same estimate over and over. Before posting a review I contacted Andrew, the owner of the company, to express my frustration. He blocked messages after a $30 discount and never addressed the inflated estimate or bad customer service. I'm not one to write these reviews which is why I contacted Andrew, but he didn't seem to care. I would recommend going with another company 100%. read more

My 17 year old refrigerator's temperature was fluctuating so I called Register Appliance and scheduled a visit for an estimate to repair it. They arrived on time and advised on the repair and the cost. We scheduled a time for the repair.bitcwas $700 plus the $107 service call. The new part was installed but the refrigerator temp still fluctuated. The repairman advised that he could get another part once he was convinced that the 1st repair was unsuccessful, but the appliance manufacturer had a knowledged the problem as ongoing, so a new part repair would probably be short lived. We normally had very good service from this company, but apparently it was sold. Very disappointed with results of my service call recently. My Maytag washer which is probably 10+ years old, displayed an "SD" error message. Called Register and a tech came out to take a look at it. He told me that the motor needed to be replaced and the machine wasn't reprogramming. He suggested that I buy a new washing machine. Well, that was a quick $97.00 down the drain for nothing. I was so impressed with the service we received from Register Appliance Service. Our microwave stopped working. We contacted GE for repairs and got an appointment into the next week for $99. We then called Register Appliance, was able to sign up for service in 2 days, got a confirmation that night and a confirmation call the next day. They came and charged us much less. I've had John service several of our appliances and have found him to be capable and honest. Most recently, our dryer died and when John came out he diagnosed the issue as being in the 240V supply and not the dryer itself, and recommending that I get an electrician to check things out.. After I replaced the breaker and a broken wire, the dryer still didn't work. I called John to have him take another look and he insisted that I double check the wiring. Sure enough, it was a problem with the new breaker. John could easily have just come out and charged me for the second visit [as it still wasn't a problem with the dryer] but was honest enough to tell me to take another look. read more
