First of all, my family is first-tine per owners and have just started learning the ropes. I have been bringing my rescue husky to osage for almost a year right after we got her from the shelter. There has been no mention of treating our dog for tick, fleas, or otherwise the whole time we have been going to Osage. For the last 10 months my husky has been itching like crazy and we have taken her to Osage many times. Every time we are told that she has allergies and we have gone forward with treating that. The itching hasn't improved and she has developed skin infections over the past two-ish months (which was treated). The last time we visited they have stood by that she has a skin yeast infection and they gave her more antifungal pills. Well, she's been getting steadily worse. About a week and a half ago she started having labored breathing and shaking while she was laying down. We immediately took her to the animal hospital (this occurred late on a Saturday). After running blood tests and checking her out, she was immediately diagnosed with heart worms and erlichia (a potentially life-threatening tick-bourne disease). The emergency vet also preformed a skin scrape on her and diagnosed her with having severe sarcoptic mange (scabies in humans). The emergency vet said that she probably has had all of these issues since she came from the shelter. Also, my husband, daughter, and I have caught the scabies and have been itching for weeks. So, beyond frustrated! We got the quickest vet appointment at a highly recommended vet clinic. They recommend a one-tine flea and tick treatment (anti-parasidic) that will also treat the mange mites. In other words, if Osage had recommended a one time flea and tick treatment when we first saw them, we would have saved over $1000 in vet bills and treatments, the suffering of our dog for 10 months, saving us from getting scabies. DO NO GO TO THIS CLINIC!!!! read more

Today the clinic saw me on short notice which I appreciate. But as I was checking out a lady that worked there walked by as I was signing my credit card slip. I had brought my Mini GD with me, so I put down her leash while signing and she walked around the desk....no one else in the waiting room or front desk. The lady that walked by said "sir we can't have this, it's not a dog park". I expect courtesy and respect anyplace I do business, but I don't patronize any business that talks to me like an idiot or like I'm being careless. I was aware no one, even staff was in the lobby, but a passing sarcastic comment cost them a long term loyal customer and a poor review. There are too many other great clinics in the area vs dealing with this kind of treatment. Echoing thoughts of person below. Overpriced and bait and switch esque environment. My wife took our dog to get a shot for his allergies last week. They did not have the shot but confirmed it would be $60. They prescribed pills in the mean time. Today 4/30, my wife took our dog to get his shot instead. Quoting us $120 "due to his weight he needed 2". What? Why wasn't this information given to us last week. Why were we under the impression we were taking our dog in for an apoquel injection for $60 and end up paying double. Vet or office manager came on the line scoffed and said they can't "eat the cost of the injection" "we can provide a 5% discount" The office manager then proceeded to call my wife a "thief" since she said she was not going to pay that cost due to them not telling us ahead of time. Love this place I've been taking my Pitt here since I got her. I scrolled thru some reviews out of curiosity and couldn't believe this was the same place I go so I felt the need to leave a review to help counter such reviews. The prices are comparable to anywhere else I've been but much friendlier and more accommodating. I've almost always been able to take my girl to the back room immediately and they even cut her nails ( which is no small feat) when I took her to doggy boot camp I hadn't taken my records and called them and they promptly emailed them over. My first visit there I had been concerned since she was 2 and I didn't know much about her history and they humored me until I was satisfied. If I could give them a zero, I would. On their website it clearly states that they are available for emergency care. Our puppy had a tussle with our older dog and is bleeding and we can't stop it. My husband took our puppy to the clinic and called from the parking lot. He was told that they didn't have any appointments today. FOR AN EMERGENCY!!! When I calling to find out more information, I was told that they were no longer an emergency clinic and when I questioned why it was still on their website, she informed me that she guessed it hadn't been updated. If it was left up to the young lady who had NO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills this place would have received a one star. This would be my first visit at this establishment and on the door it says STOP and call. So I did, a young lady came to the door, put clothes on grabbed what looked to be alcohol pads and a masked. I just knew this lady was about to greet me and assist my Princess and I. No, that did not happen!!! She went to assist someone else in a car. So I called the number provided but then the same woman returned. She asked for my dogs name and that was it... So here I stand outside waiting on someone to tell me something... Therefore, I sat on the bench for a minute. I called back and FUSSED that no one said Hello, no instructions were given as a new customer. While on the phone, I asked if I should go back to my car because nothing was said. I found out the lady who couldn't even say good morning, checked me in. After all of that my experience at Osage Veterinary was above a 10 for excellent service... The young lady whose currently in school to become a vet was very professional. Dr. MacArthur was exceptional!!! Very receptive, educational and extremely pleasant. I've taken my baby Princess to another facility and the result that we're overlooked 2 months ago were addressed today. I look forward to following up with Dr. MacArthur and staff. Ever since their announcement of building a new building on Regional Airport their prices have gone up and they have started suggesting additional services for your pet that are not necessary since they know you take better care of your pets than yourself. Osage veterinary clinic is simply amazing. I called them on a Monday morning with concerns about our families new golden retriever puppy vomiting and just not acting like himself at all. I told them he loves some socks. Without hesitation they told me to bring him in. when I arrived they where fast to check him and get x-rays on him. the results was a sock stuck in his intestines and they preformed surgery and saved our little Gunnar's life. I am so grateful to the staff here at osage. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy vet that cares just as much for your pets as you do. read more

I moved to Bentonville 3 years ago. Like most pet owners, I spent a lot of time researching my options for a new vet to take care of my precious pup. I took Emma to Osage for 3 years and couldn't be happier with the service! Dr. Nixon and the staff are incredibly compassionate, friendly and professional. They took great care of my dog. She had to have one surgery during our time in Bentonville, and they even called me to give me status updates when I had to leave her over night. This is a great vet clinic!! Please BE WARE of Dr. Ashley Dinkins, she was the person my Son brought our dog into visit and look at her left eye, which we were not sure if it was conjunctivitis. The RX given was eye drops and Carprofen tablets, to give half pill every 24 hours for pain and inflammation. At NO TIME did she explain that this pill could and may cause internal bleeding in dogs. We gave this medicine to our dear fur baby for 9 days. we were not available days after the RX ran out so we called the office and tried to make appointment once our dog showed signs she was in pain and her eye issue was back. We went into the Osage vet clinic on Sunday 6/16/2019. We again, were seen by Dr. Ashley Dinkins for DaisyMae and when my son questioned Ashley on the fact that our dog was healthy besides the eye on her original appointment she immediately became rude, loud and defensive about the medication she prescribed. She stepped forward and raised her voice and repeated you never called us back on how she was doing just after her medications ran out. That is not a factor here, my son explained to her, well all I know is when I brought my dog in she was ok besides the eye, now she has internal bleeding. The Doctor at that point spoke very loud and said Sir you seem to not be confident in how I treated your dog and How I am trying to treat her right now, I would suggest you find another clinic. She would not take responsibility for her actions. We are all human and make mistakes. I was concerned for my dog so I pressed on with the visit for my dog's safety for internal bleeding. The Doctor had wrote down an estimate of charges for potential RX and we looked over the charges- THIS WAS AFTER we had Blood test done and Bill was $232.00, we declined cerenia tablets for Nausea and Cerenia injection for Nausea(my dog had not vomited since 3:30 am Sunday morning-so we felt she was ok without them). ER SQ Fluids simple - the K+ blood test showed my dog levels at 3.4 and normal range is 3.7-5.8 which Ashley said she wasn't concerned about that. so we did not have that injection done.by putting declined on bill was over kill and not necessary. I called today 6/17/2019 and asked to have the owner call me back, she did and wanted to have Dr. Dinkins on speaker and I advised no, I do not want anything to do with her. It sounded like she had me on speaker anyway. Of course she defended her Dr. and said she will note my chart not to have Dr. Dinkins see out dog again. After this review we may not be allowed back. Please google the medications this woman tries to give your dog, your family member. Internal bleeding could cause death of a dog- as in the casue of my friend's dog that I found out today who went there some months back and got the same medication. Her fur baby is gone. PET CARE SHOULD BE A PARTNERSHIP !!! I would have given a zero star but it wasn't an option. read more
