She called and explained what she was looking for and they come on in. She got an appointment took in a couple of pictures of what she wanted. Freda and my wife discussed what they could do with color, highlights and cut for the first time and she walked through our front door and she brought tears of joy to my eyes. went to Freda's as I have been going for months. One thing I hate is they never wear mask. The second is when I went last they took a picture of the back of my hair and it looks great. But the front did not. They urged me to purchase purple shampoo from them which turned my hair white. Then when I went for them to fix it they only colored the top of my hair. I went to the salon lounge and my new hairstylist fixed my hair and it's all the same color. She also suggested that I never use purple shampoo. Buyer beware. Based on the fantastic reviews, especially from people with thick, curly and frizzy hair like mine, I decided to try Freda's Salon even though I live 39 miles away. That was three years ago, and I've been coming ever since. Farida and Jessica make an excellent team-always friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Farida is a true artist with those scissors. She cuts & thins out my thick hair so I don't end up looking outdated, and her keratin treatments are the best. I always give her the freedom to style my hair as she sees fit, and I'm never disappointed. After 3 years of loyalty, I can say I would never go anywhere else. Freda's hair salon is a unique place. Freda and her niece Jessica have a great dynamic that can be entertaining at times. They have the Catholic channel on TV ( low, so not disturbing), and that somehow makes me feel at peace. They are reasonably priced for colors and cuts. As for MIke K review, I was there and spoke to her while she was getting her hair cut. If you didn't like your hair cut, then politely ask them to stop. Kindly get up and leave. Your sisters behavior was atrocious she went on and on. I have never seen anyone be so rude to someone who continued to try and make her happy. The fact is nothing would have made your sister happy. I'll start by telling you about my hair. I have very curly, frizzy hair that was chemically damaged 2 years ago and never recovered. I desperately needed a hair cut and after research, decided based on the other great reviews I should give Freda's Hair Salon a try. I headed over as a walk in and was immediately assisted by Freda. She washed my hair including a few minute head massage that felt amazing. When I sat in the chair she asked me what I was looking for in a cut, discussed how I style my hair and Inquired on why my hair got damaged and what I've been doing to help it. I expressed how desperate for some revival I was and she recommended a few different options. Freda helped me research each item and I decided to have Brazilian Bond Builder Treatment done. She explained each step and my hair felt just as amazing as she said it would afterwards. I opted for the blow dry straight so I could see the cut and feel the difference In my hair. She cut the exact amount of inches I told her to, my hair felt like silk after the treatment and it was so bouncy!! Every recommendation was 100% accurate and relevant. I received so many compliments the next day when I went into work from customers and co workers. Both my mom and daughter also had their hair done by Freda and it looked exactly like we told her to cut and style! Freda is not only talented in her profession, but also very sweet and personable. It had been 2 years since I'd been in a salon chair, and it showed.. my hair too long, too tangled, and too dull. I had been talking about getting a haircut for a couple weeks, and something settled in me and I knew I had to do it THAT day. Called a couple places, to no avail, then remembered it was a Sunday and that it was likely most places weren't open. I decided to call 1 last place before giving up and luckily I called Freda'. She said she could see me the same day in about 45 minutes. End result, I am extremely happy with all of it. She was very professional, her salon was spotless, and I felt at ease when I walked in.. Comfortable is how I felt after a couple minutes of talking to her.. My hair had grown past my butt so I decided I wanted a change. She washed, cut and styled my hair so fast and it looked GREAT!
