In the realm of roadside assistance and towing services, there can be some real threats to your integrity and wallet. Oscar of Oscar towing will be up front and truthful with you and the service you may require. He helped me out while I was in a bind as most folks are when they require a tow. But he said he would be to me and my car in 30 minutes and was there before the 30 minutes was up! For those in sticky situations where your vehicle may not run in 90 degree heat, these types of promises are worth their weight in gold. Oh and I did not mention he did all of this on a Sunday. I do have to mention, I use roadside assistance through my insurance company and they failed me twice with two different companies. So be weary of who your roadside assistance company contracts out. I would NOT recommend for areas other than Escondido as you can tell Jose rolls outta bed to go to random calls. I seriously doubt that there is more than one person with a tow truck in this "company". I could tell that this guy lived super close to where I needed a jump start because he got here in less than 10 minutes. When I initially called though he said it would cost $75 and it would be an hour wait. I have no doubt in my mind that Jose just wanted to do the bare minimum in order to help start my car, collect his money then take off back to his bed as quickly as possible. Eventually I was quoted $75 for a jump start & Jose ended up getting here within 10 mins. "COOL. I am ready to HIT THE ROAD. Let's do this!!!" - I felt reassured Jose pulled up in a tow truck. I thought "awesome! I don't even need a tow but I like the reassurance that I was being met by a professional, who Knows what he's doing. Bc he owns a tow truck! Mmm hmm..." but I continue... - Jose props open my hood, after insisting already -over the phone- that I pop open the hood myself. "Wha???!!But I'm a Girl!!" an inner voice in me cried. I figured out where the lever to my hood was. - Jose pulls out a jump start pack & connects his cables to my dead battery. He runs it for less than 5 minutes, in the meantime not really saying anything. Awkward silence... I just tried to fill in the silence by talking about how "it sure sucks when you forget that if you are charging your phone & listening to music (for a While!) and you have all your inside lights on then ur battery will die!!!" Guy awkwardly nods + I'm sure he didn't want to be here. - Jose walks to his tow truck + doesn't really interact with me. I've had better customer service just by holding a rock. Not even a cool looking rock. Just any average one! I can't tell if he's just extremely shy or rude. I'm almost too tired to care bc at 1am it seems the same. -He takes my $100 bill and hands me $20 in change. My brain: "Wait.. huh?? Since when do tow truck drivers just assume they're gonna be tipped??! Dude just shorted me $5" I was kinda annoyed but also still tired so I just said "f**k it!" and "let it be..." WHATEVER!!! LET'S DO THIS!!! - after 5 mins Jose me try to start up my car. It starts! But then Get This!!! He then disconnects the jumper cables & grabs his charging pack. Jose then says "run your car for like 5 minutes then you should be good to go". - He does NOT wait to see if my car would even take the charge!! - He had no equipment so he could test to see if I need to replace my battery/to see if my battery will even hold the charge. - This guy hops into his tow truck + bails, leaving me hanging after I just gave him my hard-earned money that I had originally budgeted for my month's gas. I was PISSED. - AFTER THE GUY LEFT (after he acted like he didn't give a s^%t whether the charge would work or not!!!), I had to GOOGLE what to do next. Fortunately for me, this was not my 1st jump start so I did remember that it's important to let the car run for a while then it's a good idea to try to drive it for 30 mins. Would NOT recommend this "company". Am hating that I gave $75 to someone who did not really do any work to earn it. My review would have been different had this guy been more professional, acted like he cared more but that just wasn't the case. Call the next Roadside Assistance place bc this one SUCKS! read more

I had a 2016 Chevy spark that would not start and had no neutral override in the most annoying spot in the world, it was down a long driveway hooked over by a garage. *POP! Thump thump thump* I had a tire explode on my way back from San Diego to Las Vegas on a Sunday evening. After I captured my runaway heart, I pulled over to the left hand shoulder of the road. I smacked my head because I left my tire iron back in Las Vegas because I had emptied out my trunk and back seats for a huge IKEA haul. (IKEA is coming to Vegas in 2016!) Dumb, I know, but it was time to work on getting my car off the freeway and getting the tire swapped. I pulled up the trusty Yelp App and called the closest tow truck companies to my car, 30 minutes north of Escondido on the I15-N. The first company that I called asked me to call dispatch. I left two messages and dispatch never got back to me. The second company I called said their driver was on a run and it would take him 60 minutes until he could leave to get to me. When I spoke to Oscar, he said he could be to my car in 20 minutes. Oscar was true to his word and had my car up on his truck in under a half-hour. While Oscar was on the way, I was looking for the nearest tire shops. Coming from Vegas, everything is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. 5:15p.m. on a Sunday night, the closest tire shops I could find were a Firestone and a Walmart Supercenter in Vista. Oscar knew the place and said he could get us to the Firestone before it closed at 6:00p.m. Oscar was really friendly on the way to Vista, we talked about his favorite football team, The San Diego Chargers, Las Vegas, and his home. Oscar got us to the Firestone in Vista about 10 minutes before it was closing up shop. Oscar's price was reasonable and I was extremely impressed with how quick he got to my car, as the car was stuck in the middle of the I-15N pretty far away from any cities. Great service! I had chatted with Jose on Yelp and then we had a phone call. It was so simple and he gave me a great deal, especially for being all the way out in Valley Center with a locked car! No keys, no nothing, but he charged an extremely reasonable amount considering all of that. Not to mention, but he was on time, even early to pickup the car. He had a new towing truck that worked magically. Since he couldn't get in the car, the wheels were stuck but he had his own secret maneuvering way of getting the car on and off the truck.
