His vinyl is always of excellent quality and his selection changes so frequently that I have missed out on some gems in the past. His CD wall has grown since he sold that beautiful Seeburg juke box: (shame shame Keith). Oh yes, let's not forget the great coffee and large selection of different teas. And last but not least, Keith supports local artists by displaying paintings on his walls. On Sundays, he invites local musicians to perform for those who venture in between 12:00 and 17:00. All in all, one of my favourite spots on the Lake Shore. P.S. Bring in your vinyl and Keith with WASH it for a pittance. The difference will amaze you!

Finally have chance to open and listen my new vinyl after buying it for a while. I was surprised when I opened the vinyl. It claim brand new but there were some marking on the vinyl (i never write on top of a vinyl and in cursive), and it was hard to notice. Not recommending buying vinyl from this store with poor handling of vinyl. 1/13 Update: Received a call from the store, I pointed out that this marking on sleeve is unacceptable and the store should have a better inspection before shipping the vinyl to customer. However, the store representative claimed that the marking may come from the manufacturer or distributer, but they have more than a thousand vinyl in the store and they could not go through any single one to look for defects. Okay, what I get from the call is: you have time to inspect the used vinyl and set the price, but not spending extra time on the "brand new" vinyl that you claimed. That is the way they treat your collection-to-be.

The jazz section is not only organized by artists but also by instruments. Also appreciate that the classical music is actually showcased and not just thrown in the discount bin, as with other record stores. They worked diligently with me to troubleshoot a particularly fussy piece of old equipment (an SA-700, which is now purring), and found the perfect set of speakers to compliment the 1978 receiver. If you need old gear fixed, if you're in the market for your first-ever stereo setup, if you need a modern reissue or a rare pressing ... RUN, don't walk.

Moving to a larger location on Port Credit's East side (about 1 km east of Hurontario), about 4 years has allowed for Ric's to expand their offerings and inventory to a point where you feel like you've traveled back in time to the 60's/70's to go record shopping. All the classics are there... like all of them! If you're a true audiophile, this is the place to be. I spend almost an hour doing a 'quick' skim of the categories that interested me most. Ric's has got a lot of vintage vinyl going from $6 up to $35-$40, there's something from every genre, category and generation on his shelves. That said, if you're looking for something old... brand new, he's got an expansive collection of re-releases and pressings that he keeps on regular order. These can range in price from $25 to over $100 depending on the album. For those still loving the smooth skip skip skip sound of CD's, Ric's has a good helping of these as well. I didn't choose to browse because if I want digital music, I'll download it from itunes, plain and simple. But if you're still a fan of the old compact disc, I'd swing by here and check them out! Today I picked up a Best of the Beatles 1967-1970, Kick by INXS and Blue Train by John Coltrane! I can't wait to get them home to listen!
