The book called: A BRAVE LITTLE HEART: Autumn's story - by: Erica Hamilton…read more A heart transplant is surgery to remove a damaged or diseased heart and replace it with a healthy donor heart. Finding a donor heart can be difficult. The heart must be donated by someone who is brain-dead but is still on life support. The donor heart must be matched as closely as possible to your tissue type to reduce the chance that your body will reject it. For the family it was a very emotional and hard situation to face this ordeal, because Autumn is a little child and she doesn't know any different. She is sitting there with all kinds of tubes, waiting for surgery and she's smiling, only a child can do that. Kids always have a great smile on their face. I have always been amazed at how well she has recovered. Autumn was so brave while she was in the hospital and having such a positive attitude ...The coolest thing that I've noticed, is that Autumn had such a huge heart: she is so caring, it's amazing. Autumn went home on February 21, 2013, and is growing up into a perfectly healthy child. God bless her and her family !!!***Erica Hamilton admires small children who are so resilient when faced with impossible situations. When Erica heard about this six years old girl: Autumn, she was inspired to write a book to tell others of her's overcoming the worst obstacle, a heart transplant. Her passion continues to be one of helping others especially those who are in extreme need. She admires small children who are so resilient when faced with impossible situations. I am an off duty EMT (Emergency Technician) from NYC and PA but I have also worked in the heath care field since 1998 as a practical nurse. I am from Finland (from: North Pole where the Santa Claus comes from and lives). I have been in the USA past ten years. Until today there are things that amaze me no matter how much experience I have and that is why I love your story. You are such a strong little soul - with an amazing attitude towards this big world and the life which is warmly surrounding you. I love children. I went to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake and I saw many little children there, so I hugged them and talked to them and what was amazing for me was those beautiful smiles on their faces. Children are all the same where ever you go. I would like to share a photo from Haiti FOR YOU - this little girl is three years old and she would not let me go for four hours. The truth is that I did not know what to do because I had to care for others also, not only her. That was the funny part ! This world and your beautiful family gave you a beautiful gift that has no words for to express it, your HEART! Cherish it and keep it in a good health no matter how old you are. This heart also called an organ is going to keep you alive until end of your beautiful days ... and that HEART will be your best friend in many situations for many years: when you smile, when you cry, when you feel warm, when you feel cold, when you feel lonely, when you feel in love or loved. This heart has a big responsibility to keep you alive in your tiny body. This heart also has amazing strength to get bigger and stronger and it does LOVE YOU so. I am happy to write the letter for you because I heard that you like to get mail - so I am trying to put a BIG smile on your face and make your 'new friend', the HEART, HAPPY ! I would love it if you have a time to draw me a picture of you and your 'new friend', your heart. I would also love to receive a letter from you when you feel stronger and have a time to respond to this letter. We all are united in this world and life is beautiful. We all have bad moments in our lives but the good part is that they never last forever because our HEART is working hard to do the right JOB. I wish you all the best and strength towards the road to recovery with your new friend!

With four (4) other urologists to choose from in this practice (St. Clair Health), please AVOID Dr…read more Jay A. Lutins. I took my very frail 89-year-old mother to Dr. Lutins on January 20, 2023. We arrived 30 minutes early to complete the required paperwork and provide a urine sample. We were then ushered to an exam room around the scheduled appointment time. After waiting 30 minutes in the exam room, we asked the nurse when we were going to be seen. She was very surprised the doctor had not yet met with us and so, we left our exam room door open. We watched Dr. Lutins walk by our room for another 30 minutes before he graced us with his presence. He did not introduce himself, did not perform a physical examination, and did not review my mother's medical record with her. He inquired as to how many incontinence pads she was using. When he heard the number (which is extreme) he said it was a shame, but there was NOTHING he could do for her. He suggested we investigate an external catheter (for a woman who is walker/wheelchair dependent) and provided us with a one-month sample of medication (even though I informed him she has been taking a similar medication without success). He then abruptly walked out. We were stunned. He did not even bother to ask if we had any questions or concerns. After waiting one and half (1 1/2) hours Dr. Lutins spent two (2) minutes with us. This could have been done over the phone! This is by far the WORST experience I have ever had with a doctor. I will be seeking consultation with another urologist.
