Polenta with bacala on top, a meatball and an Aperol spritz.

I was here two years ago and it was a rainy late afternoon so we duct in here for drinks and cicchetti (think Italy style tapas). I just got back to Venice and stumbled on this place again. The cicchetti were still awesome and the drinks great. Owners are SUPER nice. Tons of locals walking by waving at the owners so you know this place is legit!

Ae Forcoe is a small Venetian bar and restaurant featuring a modest selection of tapas bites and potent cocktails served with a huge helping of friendliness. It's a casual neighborhood bar ... and what a neighborhood it is ... nestled between adventure and tranquility in Venice, Italy. We started our night at Osteria Ae Forcoe with a couple classic Italian cocktails. A house-specialty Negroni weaving gin, vermouth, and an apéritif for me. A local favorite Aperol Spritz (aka Spritz Veneziano) with prosecco and aperol for her. Both drinks were ok ... and so was Ae Forcoe. Despite the real temptations of some of the pre-made food choices in the display counter near the entrance, we thanked the cheerful bartenders and head out in search of more foodie adventure in Venice.

One of the coolest little Osteria's in Venice. Ice cold beer, great wine selection and a vast finger food selection.

Love this place for for Alpen beer on tap. The tortino patate e tartufo was great. Moscardini (octopus) on palenta, meatballs and flan di funghi recommended. My favorites are the flan di funghi, tortino patate e tartufo, meatballs and the Angus beef burger (get extra yellow bell peppers)

If you're looking for a place to rest and enjoy a glass of wine during your walking tour of Venice, this is a great choice. The wine selection is broad, the owners are very friendly and the vibe is relaxed. We came here twice - once during an afternoon of sightseeing, and then again on New Year's Eve before dinner. Both times we didn't want to leave! You also have the added bonus of free Wi-fi, which can be a godsend for international travelers. Check it out if you're in this part of town.

Fun bar, personable owners......Playing Venetian Reggae music, nice place for a drink ! Very reasonable prices. No credit cards....cash only. Owners are native Venetians and have been in business 6 months.

Excellent cicchetti and friendly staff. Popped in for a spritz and a snack and did not leave disappointed.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

I am so sad to give this restaurant such a poor rating after visiting many times during the last 20…read moreyears and loving it before. The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
