I have NOT bought a Car since 2006 and was never the type to Keeping Up with the Jones. Anyways I notice when going to work early morning my Chevy Trailblazer (Who I named Old Faithful) was reving really hard. As I continued to drive it out to where I had to go the Check Engine light went on. I had this problem before which is an Engine Misfire. On one of the Sparkplugs and Cylinders. I had contact my relative and she sent me to Midas In Eden Prairie, MN. Boy DID I MAKE A BIG MISTAKE. Midas told me I had to replace a whole cylinder head!! IT was gonna cost me $6k!! That is like a good used car! On top of that they we're inspecting other parts of the car that was not necessary! Unfortunately, I had to pay $122 for the diagnostic but I by change had contacted on Craig's List another Mechanic who referred me to Erik. I had told Erick and he himself was shocked at my story! He new Midas was BS-ing and I went to him. My engine was still fine! I just needed new spark plugs which he believed Midas technicians damage by pulling it out the improper way and new great quality coils which I should have don vs buying from Ebay. All in All I only spent $400 and my engine was running great. Please come over here! He won't rip you off with Lies about the car! 5 stars in my book especially coming from Chicago, IL.

My usual, locally-owned shop was booked and I was heading out of town. I mistakenly called TGK…read moreinstead of another locally-owned shop in town, that also starts with T. Despite this realization, I kept my last minute appt with TGK. Although my first impression walking in the door was without complaints, that quickly changed when I came to pick up my car at the end of the day. I paid (for what I personally thought was a much overpriced bill). The $175 diagnostic and vehicle condition report, was definitely the kicker. I can guarantee, majority of TGK customers would not consent to this service, if they knew the price. After reading reviews, this seems to be a common complaint. "I came in for x service and x request and was instead charged for this $$$ vehicle report." Upfront honesty and transparency would be great, as a business. Express Lube told me exactly what they did for FREE in 10 minutes. Come on TGK, think customer satisfaction, not $$$. Next, I drove my car home and before I could even make it there, my engine began overheating and smoking under the hood. I had to pull over to risk further damage. I opened the hood to see that my coolant cap was never put back on the reservoir. My coolant was dry and splashed about in the engine bay. TGK was now closed at this time, so a trip to the store for coolant was mandatory so I could get my vehicle home. In hindsight, I should have had it towed straight back to their shop. Also noted, coolant check/change was never a concern/request I had or reason for visit. Later that evening, I read an email from them that I had received that day, that included a 'vehicle condition report.' Upon reviewing the report, I quickly realize the pictured vehicle is not my vehicle. Though it is the same make and model, it includes a different vehicle and with many issues that are not present on my car. The photos are not of my car. How can I trust that the services provided were even correct, after reviewing this report? Did they even look at my vehicle? Or did they just open the hood and remove the coolant cap? Long story long, the store manager was contacted immediately the next day and was provided all of the above information. He apologized and agreed to refund my bill. This was appropriate, given the actual service provided was incompetent and jeopardized my entire vehicle. This was not going above and beyond, this was what anyone would expect to receive in this situation. All in all, would not recommend. Support small-business instead-- where honesty, fair-pricing, expertise, and commitment to customer satisfaction is the number one priority.

These guys were so helpful, understanding, and amazing! I cannot recommend TGK enough! It can be scary getting a flat on the Interstate (and not near where you live) and Matt and his crew were so kind and helpful toward me. The value was top notch! They get every star imaginable from me! Thank you guys so much! A. Milde

Boyfriend ended up purchasing the truck and it couldn't have gone smoother! They took the time to tell us the history of the vehicle and were very open about repairs that had been done. He said he had no access to the service history of the vehicle, but he did show me a ticket for a repair they supposedly made. Within two weeks of buying the truck, these are the problems that arose: -Inexplicably shifted into "Recreational Tow Mode." -Discovered the parking brake didn't work. -"Service 4 Wheel Drive" light began turning on. -Discovered all 4 front ball joints were in terrible condition. -Found out the CD player doesn't work. -Discovered the CV axle and intermediate axle were damaged. -Found out there are 2 fault codes in the computer, C1404 and C1002. C1404 is for the transfer case position sensor, which might explain the truck slipping into "Recreational Tow Mode." C1002 is for the brake switch sensor. -I was quoted over $2,000 for repairs at a local garage. I should also mention that upon calling Justin about the first issue, the truck slipping into "Recreation Tow Mode", he was less than useful. First, when I told him I was able to get it back into 2 wheel drive, he said something to the effect of "cool, so it's all good now." Not the response one looks for from someone who claims to be an honest dealer that makes sure their customers are taken care of. A truck should never inexplicably shift gears, and hearing that one he sold me did, should have been cause for concern on Justin's part. In this same phone call Justin also claimed to have no knowledge of Minnesota's 30-day used car warranty law, mentioned here https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Consumer/Handbooks/MNCarLaws/CH2.asp. This law doesn't apply in my case, but I mentioned it just to hear what Justin would say. I was displeased that he claimed to have never heard of it, despite the fact he has been a used car dealer for quite some time now. Bottom line, I bought the truck "As Is," and I know this. However, I am still enough of a sap to think those who claim such high levels of integrity would seek to ensure I know about potentially dangerous problems with the truck they are selling me. After all, if a ball joint goes out while I am cruising down the highway, it is the lives of my wife, four children, and myself at stake. Is Car Time of Owatonna any worse than other used car dealers? I don't know. Just keep in mind that they are used car dealers and the stereotype exists for a reason. Don't expect integrity and do not take them at their word. I won't be using Car Time of Owatonna again.
