I wouldn't use them for anything. I went there to plan a whole wedding floral situation...waited a few weeks and when I call to ask can it be done I am told no. I was there 9 months before the wedding and I asked for Phaelonopsis orchids and hydrangeas; my wedding was in April...I was there August/September the previous year. What was hard about this? Order was tables, family, bride, cake table, cake, Chuppah, etc. A one hundred year old florist cannot (or will not) do the simplest flowers??? read more

Used to be good. Now just terrible, terrible. My family used Schmidt's for a funeral, and they were awful. Some flowers dead. Just was embarrassed beyond belief when I saw them. Schmidt's HAD been our family florist forever. When we called to complain, we got absolutely nowhere. Mr. Schmidt was too busy of a man to even speak to us. He passed along messages to his "manager" to give to us, but would not even speak directly to us. Too many good choices out there to even consider using them. read more

I spoke with Jay and he was very nice and accommodating. He provided wedding prices immediately and emailed them to me upon request. 1 flower shop made me make an phone appointment just to get prices and other places forgot to get back to me. Bait and switch is what they do best, then they try to charge you a premium charge for said arrangement, and hide behind the excuse that they can modify the arrangement as they please. I would not recommend this place to no one. read more

Used this florist for over 30 years. Never had a problem UNTIL my mother's funeral. Ordered casket spray and large arrangement for my mom. Standing arrangement was lovely. When I arrived to funeral home, majority of the flowers in the casket spray, however, were wilted, many completely dead. As this was 7:00 at night, Schmidt's was closed. My husband had to actually remove the dead flowers from the casket spray before mourners arrived. Literally reach over my mother in her casket to remove wilted, dead flowers. This, of course, left huge bare spots. It looked ridiculous and I was mortified. I called Schmidt's florist first thing that Monday. When I got return call 2 weeks later "resolving" the situation I was told "Mr. Schmidt would have wanted a call from the viewing and he would have replaced it. FROM MY MOTHER's viewing??? And your store was closed!!! How exactly would he have accomplished that?? I was also told that I should have taken a picture. Of the CASKET SPRAY?? That was on the casket my MOTHER happened to be in??? Seriously?? No apology, no nothing. Horrible, uncaring, terrible place. Would not use again if they were the only florist in town. Their 100% money-back guarantee is bogus. And they just lost a 30-year plus customer. read more

TERRIBLE service! Shame on profession! Needed condolence flowers and got a crude staffer, indifferent to order, incapable of conveying basic info. (such as delivery window). The rudeness made me feel I was ordering tires for my car, rather than flowers for a grieving family. With such service to customers, wonder what kind of flowers they could summon. Have used this florist for all of my children's weddings with the most recent being on 4/20/2018. The bouquets, wristlets and boutonneres were absolutely beautiful and the prices are reasonable. Lisa and Lynn are awesome to work with and everything was perfect! Each of my daughters had different flower preferences, from bright colored Island flowers floating in water, to country wild flowers done in mason jars and to latest being traditional. I used this florist for my wedding. I ordered loose roses and my sister made the bouquets herself. It was a lot cheaper that way. The roses were very fresh and beautiful. We've also received flowers from here ordered by someone else and the arrangements have always been top notch with fresh flowers. I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

I would not recommend Schmidt Florist to anyone. My wedding was in July . My mother and I meet with Lisa months prior to go over everything we wanted and were envisioning. Lisa told us she could accommodate what we wanted. We then meet with her a second time to finalize everything three weeks before the wedding. I gave detailed pictures and notes of the bouquet, colors, flowers, and center piece arrangements I wanted. On the day of the wedding, they showed up to my parents house with bouquets that looked nothing like what I had asked for. I was beyond upset given the amount of money we spent. Two of my bridemaids called them to explain I was unhappy and the flowers looked nothing like the pictures of what I wanted. Not only did she give them attitude, she lied to them saying they had discussed this change with me. They did not. In fact, my contract which was hand written by Lisa, stated exactly what we discussed and what we agreed upon. My mom called Otto Schmidt when my husband and I were on my honeymoon. Lisa told my mom that we were the first people to ever complain- which clearly is not true given the recent reviews I just read. She was dishonest to us on numerous occasions. I was so unhappy with their services and will be sure to let all my friends and family know not to use them. read more

I always completely satisfied with tge freah flower arrangements from Schmidts. They are frwsh and last a long time. Maybe having their own green house is one reasons for their high quality, Schmidt's is highly recommend. read more

Schmidt's did beautiful work of the flowers for our daughters wedding! They were helpful in the suggestions, and we never imagined how beautiful they would come out! Price was VERY reasonable and included 18 centerpieces, along with 18 vases, 5 bouquets for bridesmaids, 2 for bride, 9 boutineers, and 5 corsages. I would give them 10 STARS if I could. On the death of the mother of a well respected coworker. I called the Parish to find out what time the flowers needed to arrive for the funeral. The nice woman asked if I had a florist. She offered Schmidt's Florist and gave me the number. I checked the website but ordered over the phone. The very nice woman who answered (I am embarrassed that I don't remember her name) helped me come up with the correct words to sum our respect and support! I ordered a 'Pink Tribute Spray'. There is a lovely picture on-line. Fast forward three days later, coworker comes to work and says - 'How did you find SCHMIDT?! Those were the most beautiful flowers in the whole funeral. There were compliments and people took the flowers from the display!' I was so relieved! I really did not want to take a chance on an on-line florist! I am so grateful that St. Christopher's recommended Schmidt's. I am so relieved that Schmidt's was so professional and nicely priced. They delivered on-time and my coworker felt supported! This is the first time that I have ever felt the need to warn someone away from a business but my experience with my daughters wedding flower was nothing short of horrific. We had a meeting with lisa about five month's before the wedding, where my daughter outlined the colors and style of the flower she was looking for in the various bouquet an reception table flowers. I asked about seeing the table arrangments in advance and was told that was their normal. About six weeks before the wedding, we needed to adjust colors for the flowers, at that time I again asked about seeing the flowers, Lisa advised that I would get a call the first week of June, the wedding was July 12th. First week in June came and when without a call. I then called the second week in June, on a Tuesday. I was told that only Lisa was the only person able to help me, she would have to call me back. Lisa not in on Wednesday, got a call on Thursday. She advised I would have to wait another week before I could see an arrangment. The following Saturday, just four weeks to the wedding, me, my daughter, her future mother in law and sister in law went with us to see the arrangment. They were absolutely ugly..I think Lisa and my daughter were on different pages when it came to the vision of the flowers. When discussing this with Lisa, it seemed that she wasn't hearing what we were trying to say, the only comment that kept coming back was that any change would cost.. didn't know that replacing roses with a lesser flower would still cost more??. When we finally come to some common ground we asked to see that the "new" arrangment would look like. We were told that they would not be able to meet with us again, that they were to busy. Needless to say, the contract was cancelled and we asked that the deposit of $600 be used for the church flower and the flower for various family aunts and uncles.
