I recently bought my first gun from Ottomanelli's and it was a great experience and I will definitely be returning. Awesome place with a comprehensive and reasonably priced selection (got my Henry .22 for well under MSRP). Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who respected me and were patient despite my lack of firearms purchasing experience and were helpful every step of the way. I had already done my due diligence on the firearm I wanted to purchase and they had that exact rifle so it was a super streamlined process and relieved some of the headache of getting your first firearm. The staff didn't push me to buy anything and was a great resource for a first time gun buyer while also not putting pressure on the individual to make a purchase they weren't sure of. They could improve their selection of .22/rimfire specific accessories such as cleaning instruments, but I'll let it slide as the customer service was awesome and I really enjoyed my experience with the staff. I was on the hunt as to where to purchase my first handgun. I shopped around and this place by far was much better than the other establishment I went to (rhymes with Hullet Bole). I did not know what to expect since I went to the other place first and was quite the disappointment. This place was clean, had a very large inventory, and the staff was absolutely amazing. I can't commend the staff enough on the amazing service they gave me, I felt like a princess. I had no idea on what to buy or how it works and they showed me all different kinds, the pros/cons to each but never once persuaded me into anything, always telling me over and over to select the one I felt comfortable with. I was probably there for an hour debating on which to purchase but they never once rushed me or pushed me towards anything. They were very patient, kind and understanding and made sure I made the right purchase. They went over how to attend to the firearm, how to handle it over and over and over, making sure I was comfortable with everything and clearly understood how to handle the weapon. I was very happy with my purchase and I am very pleased with their service. I would recommend this place to everyone but mostly to the first time buyers. A friend of mine wanted to check out the new store and I wanted some magazines for my 92 and my wifes P320, so we aren't standing in a range loading all the time. Walked in to a wall of window shoppers, that were obviously first time buyers, to receive the opposite of customer service. When questions are asked, even a simple one, the answers are short, abrupt and could be interpretted as condesending. They act as if they are doing you a favor by you buying there! Being a 50 something and shooting with my grandfather(assisted) since I could hold a 22 revolver, I believe that I am fairly experienced. BUT, with this subject there is always something new or unknown. Every firearm has it's own intricacies and personality, this causes a new buyer and even someone like mysef to ask questions. This place is the equivelent to a touristy Parisian cafe, the service is rude and the food you can get anywhere else, why bother? Walked in looking for a Sig P365 FCU. I was told they had four or five on the way and that if I paid for one they would call me when it arrive. The day they called me I informed them my son had given me one as a gift that day. I was told to take time and come in to deal with it. When I came to the store I was given the fifth degree on how they had saved one out of multiples they had in stock just for me and for me to cancel I would have to paying $75 or so restocking fee!! This is also while everybody that would ask me what I need it would tell me I would just have to wait. Wait it for 30+ minutes. Or store credit I informed them I would get back to them I was giving a business card and told email The store with other options I may want. I emailed them no response for over two weeks! After some emails back-and-forth I asked if the P320 was the same price? answer yes it is! When I did come in I was made to feel like a nuisance once I told the gentleman I was there to switch from a 365 to a 320! In the middle of the switch I'm informed that the prices had changed and that It was going to cost me $30 or so more for the 320! I was also informed that both FCU were the same price but they both had gone up in price! This made no sense to me but versus having an argument or having to take another 45 minute drive up to such an exceptional customer service store I decided to take my money back and ammo! I would like to give an example of the customer service I prefer... this is just me! I asked Lisa at CASO'S GUN-A-RAMA in Jersey City, For a Beretta 92 FS compact! She looks at her system/Computer and informs me she has a few orders placed and if I like she would put my name on the first one that arrives. UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES I've purchased 4 firearms from them few months ago, this is a true story. first 2 guns, bought at their store. don't get in arguments with them. they will make a "mistake" on my paperwork causing delays on your purchase, as well as forcing you to come back & forth to fix the paper work. this happened twice. not a coincidence. next 2 guns, bought as FFL transfers: see, store don't like when you transfer guns to their store because they make less profit. What this store did was damage my guns (I guess in an attempt to show that buying a gun online is not reliable, or maybe they're just jerks). Both transfers they damaged it, in the same exact way, not a coincidence. I was going to report them, but not worth my time. They have a good selection, so I suggest using their store as a place to hold&feel the gun, then buying somewhere else. read more

Not the friendliest of people to deal with, and they try to rush you out of the place. I was there to purchase a gun, knew what I wanted, but had a few questions. Didn't appreciate the attitude of the sales rep. I'm not new to the gun world. I was treated like an inconvenience to the store. This place is about volume and not customer service. There are better places in the area that are more helpful, and treat you like a valued customer. When this whole pandemic/gun control frenzy buying goes down, and store purchases slow down, places like this are going to wish they were nicer to customers. I judge businesses on how they treat their customers in times like this. Service should be consistent, courteous, helpful, and they should thank you for your business. Unfortunately, this place doesn't fit that model. I hope they are not affiliated with the Gun for Hire range. If they are, I hope Anthony Colandro can address this problem, because Ottomenelli's could learn a lot from Gun for hire. Those folks are top notch! I'll be buying all of my guns, ammo and accessories elsewhere. I don't need a condescending sales rep when I'm spending my hard earned money. Obnoxious staff - overpriced inventory. I get it that everything is overpriced these days but a pistol also available less than 20 miles away priced an additional $129.00?? Stopped in as connected to range (if they weren't doubt anyone would ever go back) so asked to brows as no one was there. Was not allowed...Bottom line, might have considered paying the overage for convenience (an extra $129 over same AVAILABLE pistol short drive away) but the rude punk salesman made it impossible to consider. STAY AWAY! P.S. The only shop I know that says a pistol with tight tolerances is crap!?!? They've been badmouthing Les Baer pistols for years - should definitely tell you something. What an absolutely wonderful experience from the moment I called to inquire about A Henry .22 Rifle which A very helpful gentleman who I would later find out was named Dave quickly gave me a run down of what they had and kindly encouraged me to come on down to shop which I did. It is such a nice place very friendly and welcoming. I believe it was Mike sr who first handed me the rifle and was super helpful explaining more facts about the Henry company being from NJ and how great they are and then Dave realized it was me that called (I didn't have his name yet others wise I would have ask upon arrival) so he came over to chat more about the rifle. I pretty much made up my mind purchased the riffle in minutes after a few simple questions. We then did some paperwork that is expected in NJ with any long gun purchase. I then took a ride for a snack came back in an hour and then the Henry was ready to come home. I purchased a light weight carrying bag which the rifle was already neatly in and the box to the side. Dave then told If I have any question or concerns at all to be sure to call and I knew every word was sincere. At that point Mike SR also shook my hand and thanked me for my business. These guys are legit class acts and costumer service superstars in my book. Extra points for an adorable German shepherd appropriately named Remington behind the counter and for Mike Sr having Lucia Dalla's international hit Caruso as his cell phone ringer... my mom loves that song!! They replied that to call and set up an appointment to order which is understandable because of Covid. So called today with intentions of setting an appointment this week and getting some simple information about the price and process. I was in wrong store guess. A salesperson was dicking with his phone another looked up and then looked away. Finally, phone guy asked what's up?!? A few months ago I went in looking to buy a Sig, Their prices are a little high but for good service and to support a local business I am ok with that. Sadly the service was not good, they were rude and just did not seem to care. Answering simple questions was apparently too much work. all the staff were just dour. So I left and bought the same gun for the same price elsewhere. Recently I wanted to make another purchase so I figured lets give it another shot, well no better. Same miserable workers, rude and condescending. They had exactly what I wanted in stock and I was going to just buy it there for convenience but the guy who was "helping' me wandered off never to be seen again and I was told someone would be right with me, OK I give up.
