Chicken doner teller
Kelly H.

located in Kensington market. I've always passed by this spot whenever I walk around the area. I finally got to try it! It was packed with lots of chicken and the sauce that was drizzled into it made it really flavourful. Overall, I would come back and try more things on their menu such as their veal and lamb doner.

A main establishment in the culinary diverse area that is the Kensington market. Otto's brings a germain flair to the area by offering currywursts and doners. I've been to this place a couple times and they have been consistent with their boxes. Would definitely recommend for tourist and locals! Halloumi box - Although not a doner, halloumi is a middle eastern cheese I've fallen in love with recently. It has a chewy tough bouncy texture and very salty flavour. This is contrasted with the crispiness and fluffiness of the fries. In terms of flavour you have the saltiness from the cheese and a mix of mayo and hot sauce. A small box was sufficient for me as the fried ingredients made it super heavy. My friend had the lamb box. Lamb was tasty (maybe too salty as you want the lamb flavour to come out as well). At the end there was a lot of oil remaining in the bottom of the lamb box, so it would be even more heavy. Passionfruit lychee slushie - Worked really well as a summer drink and counteracted the heaviness from the fries and cheese. The ice in the slushie is very interesting as its not very fine, instead it was rather chunky and round making it feel like a peculiar texture. The big chunks also meant that as you drink from the straw, you get more of the juice than the ice, so I'd recommend consuming with a fork. This establishment is on the pricey side and on the heavy side, so its less of a regular affair. For me, it is a once in a while kinda thing, but I would highly recommend!

Surprisingly, it's quite hard to find german doner around Toronto but Otto's knocks it out of the park. When put in the same class as other fast casual bowl eats, it's definitely near the top. I've only ever ordered delivery from here, but the portions are solid for the higher price, and the taste is delicious. Hoping I can come back here in person one day for the full experience!

The chicken teller box - not fresh and too salty
Sharky L.

Even worst than I remember! I came here about five years ago and despite the high rating but I was not impressed. But today I figured I wanted something new so I would tried agian. And it was a lot more worst. I ordered and I was surprised that it was ready within a few min. But I found out why. It way too salty and the chicken was not fresh. Like some restaurants who hire lazy employees they would cut the chicken the chicken from the spit and leave it there till a new order then reheat it. When I ate it it was barely warm and the fries were also not fresh. Maybe from another order? There is not enough veggies or sauce to have different flavour. This is really bad. Think they just stopped proper training and proper quality control. Just disgusting. Don't even waste your time and money. Worst meal I had in months or this year and I eat out often.

Vegetarian options: in front halloumi, at the back gemuse (veg)

Oh I love Otto's one of my fav doner places and it's located right at Kensington Market. I've been here a few times and this is the first time I opted for the vegan/vegetarian version. I got the gemuse box, which is eggplant and veggies and my partner got the haloumi doner. It looks just as good as it tastes. However, I did find my gemuse box (eggplant and veggies) left me a bit peckish afterwards. My box was mixed with fries. The doner may be a better option because it comes with the breading that may keep you fuller. I'm not vegetarian, but I think some vegan/vegetarian-friendly protein doner style options would be great to make the meal more filling. I had no issues with it being filling when I order the meat versions in the past.

//5 stars for great food Quick and filling. What else would you need from a restaurant? It's a Doner restaurant with a ode to German cuisine. Like most kebab restaurants it caters mostly for take-outs and deliveries. However, they have some tables available to consume there - it is a small establishment. Their menu has Doner, Teller or bratwurst for main entrée - depending on your liking. I got the small Lamb teller on salad with yogurt and hot sauce to mimic the kebab trucks in NYC. I highly recommend the small serving as it filled me up for the rest of the day of walking. The meat was greatly seasoned, the yogurt balanced out the hot sauce. As you can see from the picture posted, the size of the box is small but it's packed with food. The salad was fresh and helped fulfill the whole dish. I recommend this choice. It took approximately 5-10 minutes to get my take-away. They give you paper napkin and fork. This is a great choice for a quick lunch if you're about to walk and explore the city.

chicken doner was tasty enough, little pricey at $13.5. box was similar sized portion, would try currywurst next time

This German street food place has a relatively small menu, with doner kebab (and variants) and currywurst only. They do have many types of alcohol - beer, cider and wine, which sets them apart from the competition. Got the Chicken Doner. You probably shouldn't bother with the fries option, since they're stuffed into the doner instead of served separately (which among other things means they get soggy very fast). The meat was very good - very fragrant & pretty moist, and the bread was nice and crispy. The doner was light on the sauces, though. That said, this place is pretty pricey for what you get, and you can get other good doners for less. While the paper holder for the doner (just like what you'd get in Germany, or indeed much of Europe) is a nice touch, it doesn't quite justify the price.

If you're looking for an authentic Berlin-style döner, look no further than Otto's Berlin Döner! The döner here is made with thinly sliced beef, lamb or chicken, and is served on a soft, fluffy pita bread with plenty of fresh vegetables and a delicious yogurt sauce. The beef döner is my personal favourite - it's so flavourful and juicy, and the yogurt sauce really ties everything together. The lamb döner is also very good, and the chicken döner is a great option if you're looking for something a bit lighter. The service at Otto's is always friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Otto's Berlin Döner - it's the best döner in town!

Delicious food!! Can't go wrong with Otto's, definitely worth trying. We ordered to go and the food was ready on time. Lots of seating and casual dining if you want to eat there. Glad we tried this spot!

All the vegetables and hot sauce.

Aptly named. Their Döners are Berlin-level good. Excited to find this place while looking around Kensington and was at the top of my list when visiting. I'm only here for a week but I'll be back before I go.

Wow, first time trying it and so glad I did!!! The pita is amazing. Just get everything in the chicken doner. It'll be messy but it'll be worth it. The price is a little more than expected, they should make it a meal with a drink. There are 3 tables inside and tables outside on a patio. Great service and food comes out quick! There's parking at Kensington just FYI but it's always busy and rammed... So good luck!

Delicious!

I absolutely love this place! Will definitely come back again! The donair bread is fresh and thin! The meat is very juicy and flavourful. I also like the fact that the place serves alcohol! The only thing I didn't like was the cleanliness of the place. Even though it's self-service, some people did not clean up after themselves and the staff failed to check on the patio. I also saw a pile of dirty plates piled up inside (considering the fact that the place wasn't busy at all, they could have checked and made it a bit clean). Overall, the quality of the food makes up for a little messy situation.

Beertown occupies a commanding footprint in Toronto's Financial District -- a sprawling,…read moreenergetically lit gastropub that announces itself with a theatre of gleaming taps and an open, convivial floor plan designed unapologetically for the after-work crowd. It is, in many respects, exactly what it intends to be: a loud, generous, unpretentious haven for those emerging from Bay Street offices or rallying before a Scotiabank Arena event. The beer programme is the undisputed centerpiece. The selection is vast and thoughtfully curated, spanning local GTA craft offerings alongside storied European imports such as Erdinger and La Trappe. Flights arrive on paddles with coasters identifying each pour -- a charming detail that rewards the curious drinker. One could spend an entire evening simply navigating the rotating taps, and many regulars do precisely that. The kitchen delivers pub fare that, while familiar in concept. Service is warm and attentive on its best evenings, with staff who clearly understand the rhythm of a busy house. However, during peak hours the pace can stretch thin, and a lapse in table attention can surface. The noise level is considerable -- an unavoidable consequence of the venue's scale and popularity. Those seeking quiet conversation will find it a challenge; those seeking energy and the communal hum of a city unwinding will feel entirely at home. For the corporate denizen of the Financial District, or the sports fan looking for a spirited pre-game gathering point, Beertown is a reliable and genuinely enjoyable destination. The beer alone is worth the visit.

Thankfully somehow they did and we sat down to order. I'm not sure if it was our server's break but a couple of other servers came to check on us but couldn't (wouldn't?) take our order until our actual server arrived a while later, which was maybe 20 minutes or so. Not deterred, as we were hungry and thirsty - we ordered the giant beer paddles for our table to share and also a few apps. The beer arrived warm quite a while later and also only had the breweries names on the coasters, not the actual name of the beer so we guessed on a few. The apps were not memorable and were only warmish - so was not blown away. Too bad as the location nearer to me in Oakville was much better in terms of food and service. Even though my office is steps away, I wouldn't rush back.

Go! Now! Ask for Emily!…read more 4 of us stopped in for a quick beverage on a gloomy, rainy, winter Toronto afternoon. 3 hours later we left a happy bunch with sunshine in our hearts from such a wonderful afternoon at Craft Beer Market. Sitting at the expansive bar, Emily exuded friendliness and kindness, guiding us through the endless list of beers and cocktails. Attentive and friendly, she served our drinks with an ear to ear smile, round after round. We look forward to returning for more drinks in the future and to give their food a try. Until then, we will relish in the memory of great drinks and exceptional service. Thanks, Emily!!

I recommend making a reservation especially on weekends as they can get busy. From 2-5pm and 9pm-Close they offer Happy Hour specials daily except on Sunday's which is offered all day. Walked in and requested table for 2 but hostess provided no timeframe as to how long it would take as there were other reservations. Bar was mostly full and we waited about 30 minutes. No table still but some seats became available at the bar. Strange how on OpenTable it showed availability when they said no tables available. Service at the bar was great! Very attentive despite it being a very large bar with many seats filled at capacity. Ordered a couple of drinks and food from the menu shortly after. Got their Fried Pickles and Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza to share. Overall, food was fresh and wait time to receive the food was reasonable. Except, pizza was a bit salty I think this was due to the cheese on top. Fried pickles were A-OK, lightly battered and paired well with the house made beer ranch dipping sauce. I'd recommend checking out Craft during happy hour to get the best value for both food and drinks but expect there to be a bit of a crowd! Cheers!

The third floor is the Mahjong. We played many different board games. There are 2 big cabinets of board games. There should be more. We ordered the following food: 1. Hanamikoji Mocktail ($9.99). 2. Treasure of Sumatra Mocktail ($8.99). 3. Teddy Bear Milk Tea ($6.99). 4. Flat White (small $4.99). 5. Potato Wedges ($6.99). 6. Chicken Tenders ($9.99). 7. 17 Tiles Dusted Wings ($14.99) with Chipotle Mango sauce. The mocktails were pretty and tasty. The Teedy Bear is made of ice. All the food was good, except the batter on the Chicken Tenders was too thick; the chicken was tender. The service was good. For 3 people, our games and food totaled $86.93. I toured the Mahjong rooms on the third floor out of curiosity. The setup was good. To play unlimited board games, it costs $3/p. To play in private Mahjong rooms, it costs $20/h/p.
