Was reading the reviews on here and it seems like nothing has changed; terrible customer service…read moreand a general disregard for giving the customer a good experience. I bought two items from the store, as I was in desperate need of a table in the condo I just moved into. I have bought from them a few times before, and so far I have not encountered anything worth ranting about in terms of items and customer service. However, it is safe to say that this terrible experience is one for the books. I had paid what the website charged me, and trusted that the configuration of their site was in working order. However, a day after, I received a text message that introduced themselves to me as Furniture Source Philippines that I had underpaid, and that they would not release my items to me until I paid the correct price. This was the first red flag for me. While I did not mind having to pay the delivery fee, it was the manner that they were speaking to me that I did not like. I was being made to feel like I was an irresponsible customer, when it was their website that made the mistake. When I inquired about why I was being charged more than I had already paid based on the specifications given to me by their website, I was met with no response. I then sent a message to their Viber number essentially outlining that I was not going to pay for something in which I did not understand why I was being charged extra (as is my right as a customer who paid the total in full). I was met with someone who told me that I just had to pay the extra fee or else they would not release my items to me, and that I must pay it immediately to ensure that I am able to meet the cutoff for processing orders. Second red flag. I then got pretty upset (as I am sure is understandable) and outlined how disappointed I was at the customer service I was receiving. Not a single apology from whoever was responding to my messages. They just continued to say that I would not get my items unless I paid the remaining fee -- once again I was being made out to be an irresponsible customer when it was their website that undercharged me. Third red flag. Giving up, I just paid the fee as I was desperate to receive my items ASAP. Compared to their blatant ignoring of my messages that had to do with customer comments, they responded immediately. Fourth red flag (as it indicated that they did not care about the customer at all). When I asked for a possible delivery date from them, I was ignored. One week later, I receive a text from them telling me that my delivery date was set for December 11, and that I had to respond by 3:00 p.m. that same day for them to push through with delivery. Despite me having paid in full, and was even inconvenienced into paying an extra fee, they could not even bring themselves to ask the customer if the date was alright with me! I then received a Viber message from whoever was manning that number as well, essentially telling me that the delivery team was trying to call me and I was ignoring them, and that if I did not give them a response, they will cancel my delivery and the process will restart and that I just had to deal with the consequences of not answering their calls and messages. Once again, they expect you to be at their every beck and call. Upon checking my phone's logs, I saw that they had texted and called me at around 1:30 p.m., and I had given them a response at 1:45 p.m.. They ignore you for days on end, and yet expect you to give them a response within mere minutes of them sending texts and calling you, when they do not even give you an option with the delivery date and time. Fifth red flag. There was zero service recovery done throughout this entire transaction. Whoever responds via Viber is also very demanding and arrogant when responding to customer complaints and queries. Do not buy from them. They do not care about the customer at all. Get your furniture from IKEA or SM instead. Even Landmark has better service than this company.

Japan Selections - Japan Selections in Starmall EDSA-Shaw

I always knew that Starmall EDSA-Shaw is a good place to hunt for bargain items. But it's only…read morerecently that I discovered Japan Selection on the second floor. At first glance, the store looked like just any ordinary thrift shop selling Japan-made goods. Look closer, or better yet get inside, and you will see that they are more than just the usual stocks of cookware, kitchen gadgets, chopsticks, Lucky (or Pocky) biscuit sticks, and whatnots from the land of the rising sun. They sell second-hand appliances on an 'as is, where is' basis. This means they will test the appliance you want to buy in the store. But if it doesn't work later when you bring it home, you can't claim a refund. They also have pre-owned baby strollers and other baby furniture. Heck, they even have used surfboards. What really lured me to the place was the stacks of original Japanese manga comics, many of them are Naruto. I was giddy because my cousin who's learning how to read and write Japanese can now spice up his studies by reading one of his favorite manga/anime series in its original language. Without hesitation, I grabbed three books to buy. Right across the manga section was the used toy shelves. Here, I found countless Ultraman figures, diecast cars, robots, and baby toys. Clumsy me grazed one of the items on a shelf and it fell with a beautiful percussive sound. When I picked it up, I realized that it was a bamboo baby rattle. I bought it for twenty bucks to use as decoration at home. The only downside to Japan Selections is their dusty, topsy-turvy store. If you suffer from asthma, better stay out.

You can get approached, followed, semi-harassed for "designer bags" LOL Bring cash. Bring your game face. When I walked in, I showed interest automatically on merchandise and it was over. We had a group of sellers who stalked us and when we finished with one stand, they hounded us and got into arguments who saw us first. The best thing is to NOT acknowledge or say anything UNLESS you're ready to make a deal with a specific stand. I'm sure everyone has different experiences but we definitely were profiled as foreigners. Bargain regardless. We landed seats inside a designer bag stand with an entertaining seller, Barbie. She was charismatic and sooooooo funny. We definitely wanted to give her some business and we walked out with 6 bags. So if you're ever visiting, look and ask for "Barbie" I was able to get a fair price on mini barrel men and women. We gave them as favors on our wedding anniversary (LOL) but we didn't get to keep a pair for ourselves! The place can get really hot and stuffy, and in some areas, the stands are close together. Bring a hand held fan, it will help.

This place is, nicely put, a riot of color and noise. Small booths number in the hundreds, offering…read moresmall selection of goods to tickle your fancy. The tiangge is bargaining central, so do your best to get those prices down even by a little bit. Clothes dominate the central area, with most shops specializing in a few types of ladies' wear. Stuff for guys and kids are to be found here and there, but are comparatively few and far between. One wing that runs between Theatre Mall and Shoppesville does bags and rubber shoes of questionable authenticity. The large second floor is home to small stalls that will buy your gadget, sell you a second-hand or brand-new one, or fix any hardware or software problem it might be encountering. Items and service here are very much on a caveat emptor basis, so you have been warned. Stories abound of dubious practices, including the swapping out of parts and the selling of second-hand items as brand-new. When shopping in the tiangge, expect to be bumped into frequently, as the crowd is always dense and the lanes between stalls can cause encounters too close for comfort. Watch your stuff, especially phones and wallets, and check to make sure that your bag is closed (or keep it in front of you while you walk).

Most people know Muji as a Japanese store that offers household items, clothes, notebooks, pens,…read moreand other supplies. They are known for selling quality goods at an affordable price. What most people don't know is Muji is actually a great place to buy make-up. I don't really know a lot about make-up, but I have been using concealer and foundation for a while now to cover most of my dark spots, dark circles, and small blemishes on some areas of my face. I have already tried using Garnier and Clinique Advanced Concealer, but I am just not happy with it. I can't seem to find the perfect Garnier concealer that would match my skin tone and Clinique is just too expensive for me (relying on your parents for money is not easy). I like the Muji concealer because it doesn't clump and it actually matches my skin tone. It's also really affordable. You can buy it for less than 1000 pesos. They also have eyeliners, eye shadows, blush, and brushes so make sure to check Muji out if you're the type of person who just can't live without make-up. PS: I am NOT a make-up expert AT ALL, but I think I know enough about concealers for me to make a review about it (LOL)

I also love the packaging of the products here - the logo is not really seen and the look of it sticker labels are so clean. I always like going to Muji to buy pens and notebooks! I usually hoard them (I don't know why but I could easily go back to the store right) and well my cabinet still has unused notebooks as of to date. I also like going to Muji to check out the foldable travel bags and other travel accessories. I actually use Muji bags when I travel because they're very light and functional. My friends say the snacks here are also good - now that I have yet to try out! I'm really glad that there are a lot of Muji branches all over Manila.
