On April 16, my 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, with only 21,000 miles and still covered under the manufacturer's warranty, experienced its first transmission related issue. While attempting to back into a parking space my vehicle would not go into reverse. After waiting approximately five minutes, it finally shifted into reverse. I immediately contacted the Rockville Chevrolet dealership and was informed that they could not inspect the vehicle until the following Monday, even though I reported the problem on a Thursday. On Monday, I took my vehicle to the Rockville Chevrolet dealership. They kept my vehicle for approximately one week but ultimately stated that they could not find any problem with the transmission. After I picked up my vehicle on April 27, the same issue occurred again. When I attempted to put the vehicle in reverse, it once again would not shift into reverse. On April 29, I was instructed to take my vehicle to Ourisman Chevrolet Buick in Alexandria. Because I needed transportation while my vehicle was being repaired, I requested a loaner vehicle. I was told that I was number 22 on the waiting list, and no loaner vehicle was available. As a result, I was forced to rent vehicles at my own expense while my vehicle remained at the dealership. Ourisman Chevrolet Buick kept my vehicle until June 20, meaning it was out of service for nearly two months. During that time, I incurred approximately $2,500 in rental car expenses because I was never provided with a loaner vehicle, despite my vehicle being covered under the manufacturer's warranty. I am extremely disappointed that a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse with only 21,000 miles experienced a serious transmission problem, that the initial dealership failed to identify the issue, despite the vehicle being covered under warranty. I am requesting reimbursement for my rental car expenses and an explanation as to why a loaner vehicle was not provided during the warranty repair. read more

Incredibly disappointed by the service and experience here. Held our only vehicle captive for a week with minimal to no communication, was told we would get calls the next day, and when we called back were told the tech was out that day. Quoted an insane amount but the lack of communication tied our hands we couldn't afford to start from square one and take it somewhere else, especially being out the diagnostic fee, too. Let me tell you about the AWFUL service at this dealership. Please do not get your vehicle serviced hear as it is a TERRIBLE experience. I made an appointment at this dealership on Saturday September 13th at 10AM for an oil change. Nothing special, just a simple oil change. I dropped my 2023 Tahoe off at the service lane a little before 9am. Check in was fine. The process moved fairly quickly with I believe "Dennis or Danny (D) as his name". I did not plan on waiting as I had other things to do. I returned to the dealership a little after 3pm, 6 hours later to find out that my truck as not completed. D then disappeared for approximately 20 minutes to come back and inform me that my truck was now getting worked on. I was furious as he assured me my truck should be completed before 2 pm as that was the expectation I laid out prior to leaving. I ended up walking to the back parking lot to ensure my truck was on the lift or getting worked on as I was ready to leave. As I walked back through the dealership, Andrew asked me how I was doing. I told him the service at this dealership was awful. He asked if there was anything he could do to help and I asked if there was a discount they could provide for such a crazy delay. I mentioned how we spoke earlier in the day before the dealership opened and he was also surprised that I was still waiting on my vehicle for an oil change. Andrew tired his best to assist however was unsuccessful. D proceeded to tell me all of the reasons why this took longer and how since I was not waiting that my vehicle was pushed to the back of the line which I found completely unacceptable. Aside from that, they ended up charging my card twice. I received two separate text messages informing me my card was charged twice while inside of the service payment area and they assured me that I was only charged once. Andrew witnessed the incident. Luckily 2 days later, the account specialist from GM called me to inform me they would be issuing an refund. Overall the service hear SUCKS. Customer service is non existent from the service team. I initially spoke to a Caucasian in the service manager's office that was very attentive/welcoming and introduced me to Destiny Alston the "ASM" assistant service manager. I provided her with the pertinent contact information and the signs and symptoms my vehicle displayed and off I went within 3-4 minutes. Technician Moore swiftly diagnosed the vehicle 1st noting bent terminals, 2nd TCM had power going to it but unable to communicate. I was satisfied with the diagnosis and confident the technician was on the money, so I approved the repair for around $3K+. Let's keep it funky, The vehicle ran for several years without major repairs, The lesson learned is while things are going great create a budget for the rainy day. I want to start by saying I reached out via phone and email to Brad Ferringer (service manager) and Bob Biagi (GM) about this matter and have not received a phone call from either of them. __________ I dropped my car off after hours on Thursday because the parts guy recommended it so it would be available for the service team early Friday morning. I called Friday morning to speak with my assigned ASM (Andrew) and was immediately transferred to voicemail by whoever answers the phone for service. I wrongfully assumed he would call me back. I waited until late afternoon and finally had to call back myself. Only then, did I get to speak with Andrew and he sent me the estimate and told me the parts were on backorder, but he did not know for sure how long. I asked Andrew about a loaner car and he abruptly told me they don't have any and he would put me on a list. The person in charge of the loaner cars would not be available until Tuesday of the following week. I accepted the estimate Friday night and waited until Monday to follow up on how long the parts would be backordered. No call from Andrew. I called him myself. Got voicemail again. On Tuesday, I called in the morning and attempted to explain to the service receptionist that I was unable to reach Andrew and she transferred me to Andrew's voicemail before I could even finish my sentence. I called back and the same thing happened again. I called the sales receptionist and asked to speak to Bradley Ferringer to share what I am sharing with you. Again, I was transferred directly to his voicemail and have not heard back. Since Andrew never called me back on Tuesday either, I stopped by around 4:30pm on my way home. I know when I checked in the young man, it said there were lots of cars being dropped off for alignments. Honestly, I didn't expect three hours later. I went there towards the end of last year and told them UP FRONT I would be going through a warranty company. Awful customer service. Came in for a routine oil change in which I had a scheduled appointment. No one gave me any attention or service upon arrival. After 15 minutes of waiting for attention or service another individual pulled up and was immediatedly given attention and service. After confronting one of the service managers about not receiving service he balked at me that I should have gotten out of my car and waited outside of my car. Worst customer service ever. I arrive at 6:30 to pick up a part that I had ordered from GM. Door is open and a person was behind the parts counter. I tell her I am there for a pickup, and instead of getting the part she tells me that because it is after 6pm, I have to go home and come back tomorrow. She refused to grab the part that I had already paid for and give it to me. I understand that they have hours for their parts department. But this wasn't a situation where the doors were closed, with nobody there. The door was still open, with the lights on, and a person behind the counter. Even if it was after the posted hours, I am shocked that the person behind the counter would tell me to go home, rather than just grab the part. Disappointed in the customer service and overall craftsmanship at Ourisman Chevrolet Service. I recommend to their management team that they get involved with their technicians' logic to ensure unnecessary work isn't being suggested to customers. I've had questionable experiences at Ourisman over a four year period, though I was generally pleased with the service. That is until about a month ago. I took my vehicle in to diagnose the heater (Chevrolet Cruze, 80k miles). Instead of logically walking through the issues associated with a heater (thermostat, thermostat control, heater core, actuator, etc), Ourisman told me "you need a new engine because their is a sound that we cannot diagnose and it will cost $10,000." Not to mention, Ourisman charged me a $150 diagnostic fee and never attempted to fix the heater. I asked to speak with the service manager about the logic for going straight to recommending a new engine instead of starting with simpler fixes. He responded that "he wasn't there and can't speak for the technician." Fast forward a week and I take my car to a local dealership (Georgetown Auto) who says that 1.) I definitely DO NOT need a new engine and 2.) I needed an actuator replaced. The vehicle works like a champ now and I still don't need a new engine. All I can say is wow. Customer service at Ourisman is questionable. Save yourself some trouble and head to Georgetown Auto or a local shop until their technician oversight issues are resolved. read more

Prior services, even with appointments take much longer than needed and anticipated, with hours of zero communication; my key was misplaced by the staff somehow, and I was accused of taking my key home (how'd the car start then, guys?) Each time, it's the same, frustrated staff who appear annoyed that you've kept your appointment time, frustrated customers looking for answers. My most recent visit, the claim is that they can't get through to my warranty company, so instead of them continuing to try (and this is the SAME warranty company purchased when I purchased the car, and used each time Im there for an oil change), I should pay them directly and deal with a reimbursement on the back end. This call, of course came 3.5hrs after my car has been in their possession for a simple oil change. Don't be me. Don't look for location and convenience over proper service. I dropped off my vehicle here two weeks ago now. I ordered multiple items to be placed on my vehicle, so I didn't expect an immediate turnaround. I dropped off my truck on a Thursday expecting everything to be done by Monday or Tuesday. I called John multiple times to which he never returned my calls. I resorted to going there in person to which he told me that one of the products that I ordered was damaged, and they were waiting for another part. He stated that the part would arrive that same day or the next and that everything else was done. A few days later I called back again with no answer. He has yet to return my phone call. I then asked to speak to the manager to guess what......another answering machine. I then called for a loaner vehicle and again received the answering machine. This experience is nothing like my first experience. You would think for as money as you spend on parts and labor that they would have the courtesy and consideration to return a phone call. Horrible Experience! Scheduling an appointment means absolutely nothing. They can treat you like crap because there is a huge demand in the area for car services. I dropped my car off for a 9am appointment on Monday and did not hear anything until around 6pm that night (The dealership does not answer the service line or return voicemail, Jacob, my service manager admitted so). When I finally got a call that night, I was informed that they still had not completed my car diagnosis but said they hoped to know more by 9am the next morning. I did not hear back until 3pm the following day. I don't mind waiting, but the updates and communication were horrible along the way. I tried to contact the dealership multiple times throughout the process because this is my family car and I needed to know if a rental car would be needed. No luck! Finally, when I get a diagnosis on my car, Jacob calls me and says the technician looked over the vehicle and recommends an engine replacement...What a joke, the car is only worth 7k and the engine replacement is 15k. He delivered that news like it was a suitable solution. After some back and forth, I discovered that the engine could be rebuilt to fix the synchronization issue for much much much cheaper (Closer to 3-4k), but the dealership is unwilling to do that type of work. So really, the car does not "need" a new engine.. That is just the only work the dealership is willing to do. Jacob and the service manager both claimed they won't do that work because they don't want the liability associated with taking a 2007 engine apart and being responsible if other parts break. Okay, fine... fair enough. They don't want to spend the time and have the liability for a complex engine repair. Where things got saucy is when I disputed paying for a $225 diagnostic fee. I genuinely feel that the diagnostic recommendation of a new engine was in their best interest, but no reasonable person would do that. They did not discuss with me the current state of my engine and all the parts that have already been replaced recently. Instead it was essentially....your car is old, we don't want to repair it, please just pay 15k for a new engine so we don't have liability and complexity. I am sorry, I just don't understand why I am paying for that diagnostic service. A suitable diagnostic would have been, "we think you need to replace XXX system in the engine, but unfortunately here at the dealership we don't do that type of work on older cars. We would love to write a report of what we found for you to take somewhere else". I spoke to the service manager Laramey (Not sure on spelling) after I disputed the $225 diagnostic fee. I have never felt so horrible as a customer. He made me feel like a Karen for calling for updates on my car. How horrible.. car issues can be so stressful and especially when it involves the family car. He excused the lack of responsiveness by the dealership as being their normal operating procedure, and did not show any compassion. LITERALLY the worst service ever! I went here on Feb. 12 for a 7 AM appointment to get an issue looked at. When I arrived, I had to wait 20 mins to be seen even though I had an appointment. When I finally spoke to my service tech, I added in that I wanted to have a spare key made. I then left to pick my car up later. Four to five hours later, I still had not been contacted about the status of my car. I called and it took me about twenty minutes to get through to an actual person that could help me. I finally got my service tech on the phone and asked about the car's status and car key, and he never actually clarified that the car was ready and then also quoted me a whopping $300 for a replacement key. Here is where the sh*t storm began. I informed him that I had gotten a replacement key, the EXACT same service I was asking for now, for about $160 two years prior. He absolutely insisted that there was no way I had paid less than $300 for the service in years prior. Later, I called back and spoke to a woman to confirm that what my service tech had quoted me was accurate. This woman had the absolute nastiest, defensive attitude ever. She was talking a mile a minute saying things like well if that's what he told you then it's true and you must not have been at this dealership bc there is no way you only paid $160. Woah. I had to tell her to slow down, I explained myself, then hung up. Fifteen mins later, they call me back and offered to complete service for $160 dollars. Almost 2 weeks later on Feb. 24, I realized they had not contacted me about my key. Does NOT take two weeks to get a key made. I get there and service tech tells me it'll be an hour for them to program my key. Oh HELL NO. I've had to do all the leg work here, I say, so you're going to do this work now. Service tech (Matthew) says well I don't make the service times! I then demand a supervisor. Supervisor asks ME where the replacement key is and I say IDK I assume in parts. He gets the replacement key and programs it in less then 15 seconds. WHY DONT THE SERVICE TECHS KNOW THE SPECIFICS OF THE CARS THEY ARE SERVICING?! The kicker is that the supervisor told me I didn't owe anything further and that my original quote was wrong bc they assumed I had a complex key programming system -___- In sum, I got about 3-4 diff price quotes for a replacement key and programming service. And come to find out, I overpaid two years ago. I hate this place. Find another dealership! read more

That was one of the worst experiences I have had at a service center. I dropped my car off on a Friday and was told that I would hear about a loaner on Saturday. I did not hear back at all and thus did not have a car. I was also told that I would hear from them early on Monday with an update. I called four times and left two messages and nobody spoke with me still. Nobody contacted me Tuesday either so I had to find a way to get to the service center to figure out what was going on. Once there, they told me nobody was assigned my case and that's why I didn't get a call. I wonder how long my car would have been sitting in the parking lot if I hadn't gone down. She told me that they had looked at my car (although I'm not convinced they did) and that I needed a new alternator that would be about $1,300, as well as three other recommendations which ran about $200 each. I called another repair shop that said they could change the alternator for nearly half the price. When I said that I am going to take my car elsewhere due to the poor service and outrageous pricing I was told I was going to be charged a $175 "check-out fee" which I understood was the diagnostic. When paying, she instead said the total was $200. When I told her that she had just told me $175 three minutes earlier, she changed it back to $175. No rhyme or reason here. I should have listened to the reviews I read online. Then I still had a broken car and had to pay $175 for the worst service. Will not be returning and will be spreading the word to avoid this place. I ended up taking my car from them and bringing it to Huntington Car Care down the street. They fixed my car within 24 hours and charged me about half the price that Chevy wanted for the alternator replacement. AND they didn't recommend any of the other three charges. Horrible customer service. Just horrible. They set up an appt for me to get a service done due to a recall. After making all arrangements to drop the car off and leave it over night to be there first thing the next morning, the day of I get there and they tell me they don't have the part. I will have to come back when the part comes in. They told me they can't order the part until after they scan the car. Of course I am annoyed and asked why they didn't tell me that from the start and instead of getting any kind of good customer service that would include some empathy and an apology for the miscommunication and inconvenience, I got an oh well attitude that eventually turned in to a shouting match with the service manager who went off about doctors and how the people who work here train more hours than doctors do. ?????? They asked me if I wanted them to order the part and I told them no, I would be going somewhere else. read more

I am typically an even keeled person, but the last two visits to the service center have been hell and I've been coming for the past 10 years with this vehicle. I take my vehicle in, at the top of the day, to be serviced for regular maintenance and one or two additional repairs. The day ends and no information or status updates have been received, mind you, I have a young child and the car seat is in the vehicle. They keep the vehicle for a few days with no loaner car being offered and I make due. I pay the $6k for the maintenance/repairs and go about my day, something feels different but I don't give it much thought since I've had repairs done so the drive should be. I drive the car 3 times over the course of one week, the following week I attempt to drive, about 3 miles in and the check oil message appears then the car overheats and alerts me to power down. I try to go again after about 30mins, it overheats again and then doesn't restart. I tow it back to dealership service center, only for them to have it for just under three weeks - with no loaner car being offered again, even after I inquired about one - and very little communication once again as to any status updates (even though I call and leave messages). Meanwhile, I have paid about $1,500 in metro, uber, and rental car fees. When I am finally contacted, I am told it's going to cost $18k to repair. I ask for an explanation of how this could've happened and to date no response has been received. Needless to say, I had to purchase another vehicle (even though I couldn't get an $$$ for it as a trade). This has got to be the worse repair dealership in the country! Have had my car three weeks and they still don't know what the problem is. They keep calling with things I never said needed to be done. I absolutely hate the process of purchasing a car but my sister recommended this dealership to me and I'm happy she did. My salesman was Manuel Maravilla -who was, professional, friendly and most of all patient. I didn't feel pressured to buy to "get a good deal" I told him my budget and the features I needed in a car and he explained and showed me options and I ended up buying a used Acadia that I love. Extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service at this location. Several unanswered calls/voicemails, unanswered questions and still, I have no operable car. Tried to express my concerns within the dealership but they honestly were never taken seriously. No one in this establishment even seems to care or is interested in assisting or educating their clients.
