I would keeOn July 3, 2026, I went to Sheehy Honda to purchase a 2018 Honda Accord. After signing the paperwork, I was told the vehicle needed an air conditioning repair and that it would take approximately one week to complete. While I was disappointed, I understood and agreed to wait. The problems began almost immediately. After about a week, I had to call the dealership myself to see if the car was ready because no one contacted me. From that point on, I was repeatedly given the runaround. No one could tell me when the repair would be completed, and I never received proactive updates. Every conversation ended with someone saying they would call me back, but those calls rarely happened. I was always the one following up. My salesperson, Alex, was pleasant during the sales process, but once the vehicle was delayed, communication from the dealership as a whole completely fell apart. After days of unanswered questions and no clear timeline, I lost confidence in the dealership and decided to cancel the purchase. On July 13, 2026, I was informed that the transaction would be unwound. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. Weeks went by, and Capital One Auto Finance repeatedly informed me that they had not received the funds from the dealership to cancel my loan. I contacted the dealership numerous times asking for simple documentation, such as proof that the funds had been returned, a check number, tracking information, or any confirmation that the payment had been sent. Despite multiple requests, no one could provide it. I spoke with EJ, Roxy (Sales Manager), and later Farid (Manager). My calls frequently went to voicemail, messages were not returned, and I continued to receive promises that someone would follow up or email me. Those follow-ups often never happened. At one point, I was told they didn't have my email address on file, despite the fact that I had provided my contact information multiple times throughout this process. Because I couldn't get answers, I eventually had to: * Contact Capital One multiple times. * Email the General Manager. * File a consumer complaint. * Drive back to the dealership in person just to get information that should have been provided weeks earlier. When we returned to the dealership, Farid informed us that the original refund check had been sent to the wrong address and that a replacement check would be sent overnight. Only after making another trip to the dealership were we finally provided with a copy of the replacement check and the overnight FedEx tracking information. I also want to mention my experience in the finance office. During the signing process, there was a dog in the office that approached me while I was completing paperwork. While I understand service animals exist, it made the experience uncomfortable, especially since it was never discussed beforehand. Combined with the overall atmosphere and the pressure during the financing process, it added to what was already a stressful experience. I understand that repairs can take longer than expected and that mistakes happen. What I cannot understand is the lack of communication, the repeated failure to return phone calls, and the amount of effort it took on my part to obtain basic information about a financial transaction involving nearly $20,000. The only reason I'm not giving zero stars is because Farid ultimately helped us obtain the documentation we had been requesting for weeks. I confirmed with three additional dealerships there costs for the service I had done in Arlington Falls Church and DC and was quoted 300-400 dollars less at each of these locations. The whole place is run by a bunch of unprofessional people who can't even bother to tell you the car isn't available. They'll let you schedule an appointment, string you along all week, and then cancel two hours before like your time means nothing. The location for a Honda dealership could not be any worst. This is the most congestion drive way with limited space to maneuver, much less find a parking spot. This review applies to the used car department. I was searching for hybrids and came across a few local options on searches. I always search for cars without accidents. Yet, cars from sheehy honda kept popping up in searches clean until I checked the carfax. Accident! I contacted one of their salespeople and mentioned this. Their response? "It was a minor accident, nothing to be concerned about". Not "we made a mistake, let us fix it". The sad thing is, the cars were priced the same as cars without accidents. No way was i willing to buy a car with an accident for around the same price as an accident free car. My other problem with this dealership was with their aggressive scheduling tactics. I mentioned being interested in a car and the next thing I know the rep booked an appointment without any input from me. When the time passed, they scheduled another, and another, and another. I did eventually go in for a test drive and the environment was very chill. No high pressure tactics, we didn't even talk numbers which was a little weird. I was expecting some sort of push to have me buy, but I walked out right after the test drive. With how aggressively I was hounded when not at the dealership, it was weird for so little effort to be made while I was there. My advice to the dealership: More transparency about your cars' history. Don't hide accidents, that's a bad look. More reasonable prices. A lot of the cars were either in the "fair" or barely in "good" categories. A few weeks after my test drive i was sent a message from a manager saying either I buy the car at the listed price or it was going to auction. The price was still too high in my mind for one with an accident, so it was easy to pass. My advice to customers: Check the carfax. I recently had to purchase a used vehicle. I found an SUV I was interested in and reached out to confirm the vehicle was still available as it was about an hour away. I've had to revise my original review from 3 years ago based on my recent experiences with this dealership. Since the departure of service manager Vijay, customer service has drastically declined. My vehicle was brought in on February 10, 2025, after it stopped working. I had it towed to this location and was told the issue was with the undercarriage dash, totaling approximately $2,000 in repairs. After a few days of driving, I noticed my **back-up camera no longer worked, **a feature that had been working perfectly prior to service. I returned to the dealership and was informed there was a malfunction requiring an additional $600 to fix. Less than two weeks later, my vehicle broke down again, displaying the exact same issues it was initially brought in for. It required another tow back to the dealership. Between February and May, my vehicle needed the exact same repairs multiple times. On the final occasion, I was told the cause was now rodent damage and advised to file an insurance claim. I was also told I could be responsible for additional costs if the insurance company didn't cover the repair. After the insurance denied the claim due to lack of evidence, I had to strongly advocate for myself. Eventually, the dealership completed the repairs **at no additional cost, **but by that point, the situation felt more like a financial trap than service. Before I could even leave the lot with my vehicle, I noticed the camera issue had returned. I brought this to the attention of my service representative, Jeanette Montgomery, who had already shown a lack of professionalism throughout our interactions. On this day, her conduct became truly unacceptable. When I informed her the camera was still not working, she walked away without acknowledging me and returned with a mechanic. No introductions were made, and I had to ask if he was there to assist. After our interaction, I mentioned the lack of courtesy to Jeanette, and she openly insulted me, saying: "That's why nobody likes to help you." She then loudly and dismissively yelled, "And no, you did not pay $3,000 to get your car repaired!" in front of customers and staff in the service area, all recorded on video. This was not only humiliating but also deeply frustrating after months of repeated issues, missed diagnoses, and significant expenses. Throughout this entire process, I was treated as if I was wrong for advocating for myself, despite the countless hours, stress, and thousands of dollars spent going back and forth for repairs that never seemed to stick. No customer should be made to feel dismissed, devalued, or humiliated, especially when simply seeking fair service. I ended up recording my visit due to how unprofessionally the situation was handled not only by Jeanette but also by management previously. It was so bad, that I emailed the CEO at Sheehy and Honda Corporation, to file a formal complaint. As a paying customer, I expected to be treated with respect and basic professionalism. At drop-off, Service Advisor Janette told me the coupon only knocked $22 off, though the fine print did not indicate that. 2 Stars - Disappointed by Pricing Policy I recently moved to Virginia in October 2024 and brought my 2022 Honda Civic--originally purchased at Shottenkirk Honda of Decatur, AL--to Sheehy Honda for a recall service. While I was there, I figured I'd take care of some routine maintenance too: oil change, tire rotation, wheel balancing, and one other minor service (nothing major--just upkeep). To my surprise, the quote came out to around $700, which was shocking. Back in Shottenkirk Honda of Huntsville, AL, I paid about $90 for an oil change and tire rotation with a complimentary car wash included. When I asked about the price difference, I was told it's because I'm not a Sheehy VIP Member (meaning I didn't buy or lease my vehicle from them). That kind of pricing policy really rubbed me the wrong way--my car isn't even three years old yet, and I've taken good care of it. I ended up only getting the recall service, since that was free, and declined the rest. I refuse to overpay for basic maintenance just because I didn't buy through their dealership. I'd honestly rather do the work myself or go elsewhere than get charged a premium for not being a "Sheehy customer." read more

The waiting area in the service department is horrible! The chairs are in such bad shape, one would think they would be embarrassed to have customers wait even for a second there, let alone several hours. The television did not work. I mentioned thus to the service department and staff directed me to the customer service department for assistance. When I went to the customer service department, the young lady that was behind the counter eventually acknowledged my presence; I interrupted her scrolling on her cellphone. I informed her that the TV in the waiting room was off and there was no remote control. I asked if someone could assist. She said I should check with the service department. I mentioned to her they sent me to Customer Service. She then hesitated and said she would try to see if someone could help. She returned after about five minutes and said the manager had not made it in yet, and he was the only one that could help. There was not even a magazine or newspaper available to read. I bought my car from this dealership in October or November 2024. It is a 2025 Honda CRV. I had an appointment at 8 in the morning for basic and routine maintenance work: Tire rotation, check fluid levels, alignment, if needed. This car, less than a year old, needed all of this done, per service agent and the estimated charges were a little less than $600. I thought that was extremely excessive. This was even with my VIP service discount. Interestingly, I overheard a gentleman talking on the phone with his wife about what he was having done on his car and what he was being charged. It was the exact same amount as I was being charged. I became somewhat suspicious and at that moment decided that after that visit, I would not use thus dealership again. I will drive a few extra miles to go to a dealership that puts the customer first. This place appears to be on the brink of going out of business if it doesn't get a handle on basic customer service and customer retention. read more

This place is the worst. Even for the most basic thing like an oil change expect to wait 4 hours. It's terrible. There seems to be a lot of people doing a lot of nothing. Coming here is a mistake. Don't do it! read more

Sure the $30, $40, $50k new Hondas are nice--and you'll get the same sales experience here (knowledgable, nice, but this isn't BMW, amenities, though most you pay for) than any other Honda dealer (minus the haggling), but Sheehy, as a brand, does value/ under $10k, $12k very very well! Most dealers don't offer a (/n actually decent) warranty, return policy, financing/ rates, or recondition their cars at this price range like Sheehy does (though their processing fee is extremely high IMO.) VIP membership is reasonably priced but doesn't cover Maryland inspection or engines over 50k miles (which I'd guess all Value vehicles are.). Put *anything* out of place or that needs to be fixed on a "We Owe"--you can negotiate repairs and accessories but not the price or VIP). Given the proximity to Sheehy stores and Volvo service pricing, probably should have opt'd into VIP for that one. I've bought 2 cars and helped another 3 family/ friends all buy cars from Sheehy and all had straight forward experiences and chose Sheehy for their quality standard (again, not BMW) and Carmax-like experience and pricing policy (for less!). Only 1 had a mechanical problem which was fixed under their 30 day/ 1k-mile warranty (most dealers only cover 50% and/ or have a deductible--Sheehy is 100/100 and $0, respectively). They told me my car was out front when I went to pick it up after an oil change. It wasn't. I went back in and asked again where it was. A guy said it was on the side. It wasn't. I went back in, irritated, and asked, is this a joke? Where the hell is my car? I paid online, you have your money, give me my car! The fellow said it is not his fault. Someone else said they would get someone to get it. No apology. So, a couple of months later, I made an appointment online for a different car. I received two confirmations by text. I go in, and they tell me that they will not service my car. There is a note that I am not allowed in the dealership. Amazing! Wasted my time! Also, manager said it could be because I didn't pay my bill, but he didn't know why. Don't go there. They are crazy read more

Several months ago, the rear differential of my 21-year-old 2003 Honda S2000 gave out on the Beltway. I managed to drive the car off the Beltway and pull into a gas station where my rear wheels froze hard. I had it towed to the nearest Honda dealer, which happened to be Sheehy Honda of Alexandria. I quickly learned that Honda had recently ceased making replacement rear differentials for my car and none were available. [I believe the Honda replacement differential price would have been around $9000]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The assistant service manager, Marcus Williams didn't give up. He had his guy check with area junkyards for a possible used replacement. Negative results. Next, his guy checked eBay and found one for $1700 that the seller claimed came from an S2000 with 59,000 miles on it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When the used differential arrived at Sheehy, Marcus had a wrecker tow my car from the service parking lot into a repair bay. He had the car ready within a couple of days--with replacement rear differential and a tune up. Ever since then, my S2000 has been running like brand new. I could not be happier. read more
