We were directed to the far corner but nothing was labeled. We aren't familiar with different variety of trees and it was much to our surprise when none of the trees had labels or signage. Next, was the issue of all the cut your own trees were barely over 5-6ft. After much disappointment, we decided to make our way back to the pre-cut trees. We picked a pre-cut tree that was 7ft tall, went to pay for it and yet another surprise hit us. Pre-cut trees are at least $20 more expensive. Again, no signage to let us know that. We purchased the tree anyway and it's lovely but not worth the drive or money.

Boy boi did it surprise me. Crowds: they limit tickets into their farm meaning it doesn't feel like you stepped into Disney land with insane crowds. Busy enough to feel exciting but not where you're bumping into people left and right. Cornmaze: the HIGHLIGHT of our visit. This isn't any ordinary corn maze. They have an entire scavenger hunt that connects to their app. So you have to find 14 question and scan the QR code to answer. If you find all 14 (it's a hunt) and get all the questions right you're entered into a raffle. We had SO much and found all 14. It was such a fun bonding experience for our family. Pumpkins, mums, and more: the pumpkins and mums felt very reasonably priced. And the mums were HUGE and healthy compared to getting them at the big stores. We also enjoyed some hot cocoa, hot apple cider and kettle corn. All delicious. Animals: I'm an animal activist and reduce to visit places where animals are forced to provide entertainment. This place had a petting zoo but didn't allow kids inside and there was no actual animals rides. Thank you Kroll's. A holiday staple Living in the Rockford area…read more My Family has been visiting for as long as I can remember and we always have a good time. We always meet our close friends and their family. A tradition that started with 4 or 5 of us and has grown to 8. We have not actually bought a Tree from there in years (They're Overpriced) but our friends always do, they love the tradition of cutting their own tree, their oldest son has taken on the responsibility, something he is very proud of. There is obviously MUCH MUCH more than just trees though, Our kids love the animals, santa, snacks, and shops. We always bring a few adult beverages to chat around the outdoor firepits, spend quality time together roaming the property, petting the animals, indulging their delicious foods and making new memories. Williams is without a doubt the best option in the Rockford Area and I would highly recommend bringing your family and friends.

Seems like the majority is Frazier but we went pine this year for the first time. Loved the different areas spread all over to cut your own. They even have atvs driving around to take your cut tree to the shake station. If you have little kids there's some fun stuff and they have drinks and food. Happy we ventured here. Worth the 1-1/2 hour drive.

We came 2 1/2 hours we were told that they cut down that week and would be set up in the Barn but instead the were still wrapped up outside and they would only open one tree The employees were not very helpful or friendly it was almost like we bothering them to do there job. This was a wonderful place to go as a family, our first year cutting our own tree. Great variety…read moreof trees, prices are better than average and all the tools you need (saw, twine, etc) if you don't bring your own. Very laid back and friendly staff willing to help at any step of the way needed. Leashed dogs are welcome, ours was thrilled to come along for an afternoon out with us! There is a small little barn that has some well cared for baby animals that can be pet, Santa was there behind a gate in another small, picturesque barn for socially distanced pictures (no lap sitting, perhaps for the best regardless!) and free cocoa and coffee in another small barn. A taco truck was there that smelled delicious, but left before we got a chance to sample those smells - we were bummed! Apparently there are hayrides and a few other things that weren't available this year because of COVID, but we didn't feel like we missed out. Best of all, we ended up choosing a beautiful blue tipped spruce that ventured out of the normal pine territory we are used to, and it was fun to find the perfect tree that we weren't expecting. Lots of photo opportunities. There on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so it was busy - but still felt safe and was manageable. We would go back next year, despite it being an hour plus drive for us.
