Lovely experience with my mom & GranMa! The owner, Randy was the conductor of our train ride with very informative Illinois farming facts. The apple cider slushee was perfect after completing the maze! Super fun! Pumpkin donuts were delicious! & the pumpkins were beautiful and unique all around! Great value- great prices- great family fun! Thank you, Randy & the Krolls!

Nice small family farm ...corn maze to walk and with a challenge to find all the questions to play the game, animals to view and feed, a wagon ride with explanation of types of corn grown, and an area to purchase decor, snacks and of course pumpkins! It was well organized and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The timed tickets and management of parking was excellent.

Such a fun pumpkin patch +farm to visit! I visited with my husband on a fall weekend and was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the workers welcoming us in. This continued all through the visit- everyone we encountered that was working was so kind and helpful! The attractions (corn maze and hayride) were a lot of fun and great value for the ticket price. The selection of pumpkins and gourds was also the best I have seen (and great prices!). It was the perfect balance of 'quaint farm' and wholesome, fall fun. In my opinion, it's worth skipping some of the bigger pumpkin patches in the area that will squeeze you for every dime, and instead come here. We will be back next year!

Krolls is definitely a fun pumpkin patch on a small scale. It's perfect for a low priced fun outing with the family. During the week you can go and purchase the activities (corn maze, hayride, animal feeding area) separately. On weekends you have to pay online to reserve your spot. Parking is free which is another huge plus. I like going doing the week with little ones because I usually skip the corn maze with them. The hayride is the perfect length for kids and they have a fun activity for the kids to stay interested. I loved that they added a cover to their wagons so the sun isn't beaming down on you. They changed the quarter feed machines to buying a souvenir cup ($5) and you can pay for refills ($2.50) all season long. They have a lot of animals which was nice. The pumpkins are decently priced and my Littles enjoyed walking through and seeing the different sizes. Their little tent store is so cute. Filled with lots of knick knacks. The main candy/food/checkout spot added apple cider slushies and I may just have to make a quick drive up here during the week and buy it. So delicious. Even though I'm on the search for the best apple cider donuts I decided to try a pumpkin flavored one and it did not disappoint. The workers are all so friendly and willing to help. Like I said great place for fall fun on a budget. Time well spent

We love this beautiful, old-fashioned pumpkin farm. We get our pumpkins here year after year. You won't see any inhumane, traveling exotic animal attraction (like they have at another pumpkin farm in nearby Wisconsin) but sweet chickens, goats, donkeys and alpacas you can feed-living their best life on the farm. The corn maze is great, not too big. The people that work here are kind and helpful.

Great farm, the staff is super friendly, a few farm animals to watch and very educational, one of the best farms around for the price.

Pumpkin Doughnuts here are delicious. Cake style doughnut that was super moist. Outside was coated with sugar, but it wasn't overly sweet. A decent amount of pumpkins flavor. Would recommend visiting this place just so you can try the pumpkin doughnuts.

Upon arrival, we went into the shop which was so adorable and wish we could've bought everything! Lots of unique pumpkins and some giant ones that were funny to see. The employees were nice but not super friendly. I was so excited for warm donuts but they came prepackaged in a plastic container and like a sticker for the farm was slapped on it. Good donuts still but for visiting pumpkin patches like this, I always thought they served warm, fresh donuts. The maze was super fun to do and loved the fun facts about goats throughout it. Overall a good experience! Not bad but not amazing. Would recommend visiting still.

This is my second year visiting Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm, and we had a great time! This small, family owned farm is a great place to have a few hours of Fall fun. They have a variety of pumpkins and gourds for sale and a small shop where they sell Fall decor and other trinkets. There is a snack stall where we purchased pumpkin donuts and apple cider- both a must! We walked around the farm, visited the animals, and then hopped on the hayride for a ride around the farm. The owner himself is one of the hayride drivers- he is a very kind and personable man. He took a few minutes to get to know us before the ride :) The hayride had an audio history of the farm and history of corn, which was very informative. Something fun for the kids- and us adults- was searching for the eight scarecrows hidden along our ride. After the hayride, we journeyed through the corn maze! In the corn maze, you can participate in a Q&A game putting the facts that you learn at the start or the corn maze to the test. This game can be played on an app and makes the corn maze and even more fun experience! Can't wait to visit Kroll's again next year!

Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm is a lovely family owned and operated farm. We bought presale tickets to go on the Saturday right before Halloween. It is not crowded and the place is just the right size to spend a nice autumn day with the family. There's lots of pumpkins, good well-taken care of animals (alpaca, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits), hay ride, corn maze, souvenir shop with rustic farmhouse decor, and pumpkin flavored treats. There is also a picnic table area where you can bring your own lunch or snack. Overall we had a great memorable experience here!

There's over 1 million tulips planted, and there were plenty of photo ops throughout. I also love that the tulips were planted in the shape of a butterfly this year, but wish there was some way to see it from above. :( For $20 you get access to their tulip field and one u-pick tulip is included. You can purchase more tulips for $2 each if you want to pick more. Dogs are also allowed and are free to enter, but if your dog is prone to chewing on/eating flowers, maybe leave your dog home (tulips are toxic for dogs, mostly the bulbs which are underground). There are a few food trucks and lawn games to play as well. We tried the blended java chip coffee and kettle corn. The kettle corn was really good. We only spent about an hour here because there's not much else to really do.

I like to sign up for unique 5K courses, so I was super excited for this one. At 6am during the day of the 5K, I got a sad email saying the course has switched to the farm course for everyone who signed up for the corn maze course due to the corn maze being muddy and unsafe or something. But at least the 5K was still happened. The farm course was meh. It was muddy as well but at least it was wide dirt roads. For anyone considering going in the future, I suggest definitely going for the corn maze course instead because I imagine the farm course is meh even when it's dry. The gift shop was open for runners super early to shelter and grab some snacks, souvenirs, and bathroom breaks. The apple cider donuts are great, but only comes in half dozen.

CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.
