    Half caf iced latte
    Emily C.

I've been coming here every week and have not been disappointed! The staff is super friendly and they've been making some delicious half-caf iced lattes. I've also tried a protein ball, and that was tasty too. There aren't a lot of seating options here, but a great spot to grab coffee on the go

This place was popping at 10:30ish! The lady at the counter was nice. I got a 16 oz iced Carmel macchiato and my boyfriend got an iced coffee with cream and Carmel syrup! It took about 10 minutes to get it (not bad wait! Shops next door to go in while you wait). The flavor was pretty good! I would say a decent coffee shop! Cute inside. Give it a try :)

The BEST coffee in Cape May!!! Well, I didn't try all the coffee shops, but I trust my Yelpers and this is what they said. So, this is where we came and THEY WERE RIGHT! Did I tell you I'm a coffee connoisseur? Well, I LOVE good coffee and I like mine strong/dark/bold. They have so many options I recommend you pull up the menu and become familiar with your options before you arrive. You can get your coffee hot or cold. OR, you can grab a smoothie. I had the Lumberjack and it was perfect! You know when you order something and you're nervous it wont meet your expectations? That will NOT happen here. You can also grab a hat/shirt/sticker/coffee mug or something to rep the shop. It's a nice place and I'm glad we found it. It was almost exactly 1 mile from our hotel and we walked to it every morning. You can also grab a muffin, stroop waffle, little bundt cake or snack.

Decent coffee shop in Cape May and good quality matcha. Service was quick and the shop has some aliens in reference to their name, which I think they should lean more into!

Out There Coffee is a must-visit for coffee lovers in Cape May. This cozy little shop serves up delicious, high-quality coffee and espresso drinks. The baristas are friendly.

I love love love this coffee shop. I didn't think NJ had local coffee shops like FL did but I was wrong. I am so happy I found this gem in Cape May. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the hours. They aren't open every day only Thursday through Monday. However , it is definitely worth the wait for good coffee and customer service. Every time I order my drink, I always request it to be more sweeter and the staff always ensures that my drink tastes good and is willing to add any sweetener if needed. I appreciate the patience and kindness of this staff. Also the baked goods are so delicious. I recommend the cinnamon swirl baked good.

    Lumberjack Latte

Lumberjack Latte was unique and just the right amount of sweet with maple syrup. The Americano light roast espresso quad was good. We never have seen light roast espresso offered. We also got the peanut butter ball and cranberry orange muffin. $20. I loved the little sticker they put on the cups. It kept me from getting sand in my coffee while strolling the beach.

Iced coffee and black coffee. Absolutely delicious

We have been trying all the coffee shops in Cape May.. Because of the great ratings I saved Out There Coffee for our last day.. kind of sad I did wait till the last day.. it's delicious and in my opinion the best coffee in Cape May. They have a unique menu and the staff is the friendliest I have met so far. I also bought coffee beans for home and my whole car smells delicious. It was a bit tricky to find on our bikes but that could just be me! It's in Acme parking lot and across the street from the church that's at the entrance to Washington Street Mall. If you're a coffee snob this is your spot! If you're not a coffee snob this is your spot!

Right across the street from basketball courts if any moms are looking!!

I ordered the harvest salad with candied walnuts. I have no idea what candied walnuts are, so I wish the waiter asked if I had any allergies because they can SOMETIMES contain cinnamon in it and I am allergic to cinnamon. When the salad came out I started to eat the salad and noticed my throat starting to feel funny. I didn't mix the salad well so I just ate the arugula with the sauce and the chicken. Half way through I noticed there were walnuts and I took a bite of it and my throat immediately started to swell and I can feel my face and tongue getting itchy. Thank god I have my allergy medications on me, but what if the next person this happens to doesn't... We immediately told the server about my cinnamon allergy and the waiter looked at me like I was joking because I ate half of it and then asked me "So you're done with that?" and I said, "Yes I can't eat it anymore, I'm allergic to it and it's contaminated with everything else. I felt my throat starting to close up, but I am okay because I have my allergy medicine. " He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no just a hot tea to help with inflammation. I appreciate that the server was trying to help us out, but he still came back with the bill and said the owner is still going to charge me because it says candied walnuts on the menu, implying that it's my fault...I really expected this place to have better service, but looking at past reviews I can see how this place has overpriced underrated food and terrible service. They don't care about their customers and certainly just focused on making money. Hopefully after today they include that their candied walnuts have cinnamon in it! Or at the very least ask the customers if they have any allergies beforehand

We were seated immediately by our server Flossy who also had very good recommendations on what to order. I followed those recommendations and got the Crab Cakes and the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake. My friend ordered the Seafood Pesto. I loved the Crab Cakes, it went well with the mango sauce and it was a very lump meat crab cake. Might be one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The key lime cheesecake was very fluffy, airy, with the perfect balance of sweet and citrus. The seafood pesto was just OK in my opinion. I did like the food for the most part. However, the portions are a little on the small side. If it weren't for dessert and Flossy giving me a second dinner roll (another point for service!) I think I would've left still hungry. To be fair, I am considered a big eater and I came in starving. There were a few other questionable choices that prevent me from fully recommending this place. Some may consider the dining room cozy, I found it cramped, especially as it started to fill up with other customers. So this place is likely not going to work with a big party even if it's half full. We were a little surprised when trying to find the restroom too. We were handed a key, and had to go outside and in their back alley on a little treasure hunt to find a door labeled "Locked door". When ordering dessert, I was surprised the dessert menu did not list any prices even though their main menu did. Kind of obnoxious and pretentious if you ask me, but Flossy mentioned they were all $18 and big enough to share. That brings me one other point: pricing. I loved the food, but felt each menu item was twice the price that was appropriate for the portion. All in all, Freda's cafe has good food and great service. But it's held back by portion sizes, pricing, and a few other weird issues.

The stand out was the K&B salad which had great dressing. Loved the hot/cold contrast between the flash fried Brussels and the kale salad. I had the scallops- average and with quite a bit of grit. The carrots it came with seemed boiled and again relatively flavorless. My husband had the sea bass but unless you got some of the very minimal sauce it was plated with, it was fairly bland. I didn't even sense salt and pepper. For the price point, I wouldn't rush back for dinner but might try another meal.

It was quite chilly while we visited Cape May so we really wanted to sit inside. First, the positive: The place is clean and the staff is nice. The Lobster Roll is delicious and the Shrimp Cesar Salad tasted good, but this is also where it goes bad. It is a huge salad and only had 3 shrimp. The cost of the salad is the same as the Lobster Roll. There is no way a salad should cost 26.99 and only have 3 shrimp. A pound of shrimp market value is approximately $25.99 depending on size & location. When it was expressed to our server, she quoted market price increases and that we could order more shrimp at an upcharge. If market price for shrimp is that bad, take it off the menu or offer alternatives like adding chicken that won't result in an upcharge or advise your customers upon ordering that they'd only get 3 shrimp. Hubs probably would have ordered something else. It's Cape May Fish Market so they should be upfront about their seafood. I didn't really care for the fact that we asked about it and were brushed off. While we'll definitely return to Cape May, we may not return here. .

The odyssey to finding it was well worth the effort. We had dinner reservations but on a Monday in May, probably did not need them. We both loved our flounder almondine order, despite it being a Monday night (when one does not typically order fish and expect it to be fresh). This really was! Service was top-notch and super-friendly from Jared, who was deeply apologetic when the oyster appetizer we ordered failed to appear - he comped a beer without prompting (and insisted upon it). Even absent this gesture, his attitude and manner made our evening - the excellence of the entrees was a cherry on top. One note and not the fault of the restaurant at all - a number of families with small children were dining at other tables. This is not an especially well-suited restaurant for families with under-5 kids. Their collective noise and behavior was more akin to, well, a Chuck-E-Cheese or MacDonalds.
