Great place! Cash or Venmo which I like. I enjoy the ease of Venmo. My wife got a cold brew but since I'm trying not to do too much caffeine I got an iced mango tea. It was delicious and not too sweet. Really trying to steer clear of the sweet stuff. Place is very cozy and was packed but they really bang out orders fast. So it wasn't a long wait. It seems like this coffee shop is a popular spot, we were walking on the Washington st mall so and needed some coffee so we stopped by. The like was soo long (idk if it was because Saturday morning) but thankfully they had enough people making the coffee so it went by quick. The worst egg sandwich of my life. Microwaved McDonald's-like egg, untoasted English muffin. So bad I chucked it, and went elsewhere. Apparently at this place, "cappuccino with almond milk" means a big glass of hot milk. When I asked for coffee flavor, they generously topped it up with an espresso shot and suggested I "order extra shot " next time. Great tip--next time I'll just go to a real coffee shop. read more

I unfortunately had a terrible experience where the cashier literally saw the line and chose to serve a white older female over me (a POC) who was next. She basically allowed the Caucasian to skip over two POCs. If this is the type of service they choose to give, I would rather not give them my business. read more

After going to Out There Coffee and realizing that they didn't have any sort of breakfast food, we headed over to Coffee Tyme to get some sandwiches. We stopped here while exploring the Square while we were staying on the Cape. The place is small, and it was mobbed, which is obviously a very good sign. They moved the line along quickly. Service was friendly and courteous. The decor reminded me of a true seaside town coffee spot. Whitewashed wood, local beach photography, lighthouse decor, etc. It was a quaint place to be. Coffee was excellent. I had a standard latte, which was strong and flavorful. My other half had a snickerdoodle latte, which she greatly enjoyed. She also enjoyed her fresh cinnamon bun. We absolutely LOVE Coffee Tyme. It is THE best place to have coffee and a breakfast sandwich in the morning. The staff is always super friendly. There is always a yummy selection of freshly baked treats too. We like to walk the promenade and then stop in for breakfast. There is a seating area inside and outside as well. Whenever we're exploring the Washington Street Mall we always make a stop at Coffee Tyme for a quick beverage. This go around I got the Sunrise which is a drink with lemonade, green tea and watermelon. It was so tasty and refreshing! My boyfriend opted for a hazelnut iced coffee which was as equally as delicious. Coffee Tyme offers many coffee and drink options as well as some sweet treats to accompany your beverage. Coffee was excellent but prices were not. I know. I know. Washington Street Mall in Cape May is a prime tourist area and even on a cold day in the middle of February it was packed with people to the point where it was difficult to get parking even remotely close to the action. I was craving a double espresso and happened upon Coffee Tyme. The inside was really nice outside of all the supply boxes strewn all over the front and under the benches. The staff was super friendly and efficient and the coffee was great. My only bone to pick was the $1.50 up charge for oat milk poured out of a $3 at most Silk half gallon container. So a small chai and a double espresso came to almost $11. I know most coffee shops charge more for alternative milk options but I honestly don't understand it and especially not $1.50 on top of a $6 chai. read more

We had a hot cocoa, hot tea and the mango smoothie. The hot tea was the best drink. Clearly chamomile. The hot cocoa was not our girls favorite but decidedly chocolate. Coffee tasted good but there wasn't much of it because of the large amount of ice. I finished a large iced coffee in about 5 minutes (for reference I typically take at least 20 minutes to finish coffees of similar size). My order was originally incorrect but they fixed it promptly. You're probably better off getting a latte at another nearby coffee place. $6 for a coffee is steep. It's suppose to be 3 shots of espresso in a large and 2 in a medium. I tried their mocha latte which tasted straight up like hot chocolate- Overly sweet, with no hint of coffee. I swear they did not put any espresso in there because after I drank a large I took a nice nap afterwards. They do have a variety of options for drip coffee so maybe go for those instead. read more

The person at the register was cold towards me but I figured she had a long day since it was almost noon on a Saturday. Nope; she just wanted to chat with her friend who just walked in after us but before I ordered. My drink, a Small White chocolate mocha ($5), was made by someone else while she chatted with her friend. It tasted good and was hot. BUT It was only about 2/3 full and I asked for no whip and there was dairy whip on a oat milk drink both times we've been here in the past two months, it's been fine but I would rather go to congress hall's coffee shop Tommy's folly. still so upset about my encounter here and the response from the owner who tried to gaslight me through his response to my review and to my email. Went here while in cape may for vacation excited for the gf options and drinks because of the great reviews. Barista at cash register was unfriendly in speaking with me, (I noticed her expression and difference between how she talked to me vs how she talked to the next customers (white). Drinks were great; macadamia latte was a bit burnt tasting but the other frozen coffee drink was really good! Then we got our egg and cheese sandwich and took one bite, upon which we noticed two hairs we picked out of the sandwich. No apology was given just an "I guess we can remake the sandwich" (by same barista at cash register, who looked at me with an indifferent, disgusted look). No apology was given and no apologetic tone in the least. Then another barista asked me for the sandwich so she could throw it out on her own (weird) because I had already said I had taken out the hairs. Again no apology was given and I was so upset with how I was treated and looked down upon as a woman of color, having felt a very clear difference between me and the non POC/visibly white passing customers. I then said it was ok and that the sandwich didn't need to be remade and walked out upset, shaken, and cried because I felt so alienated and looked as if I was repulsive or some alien. I deserve treatment just like any other customer received. Upon my review, the owner gaslit me saying he reviewed camera footage and what I said happened didn't happen (idk what I would have to gain from lying about any of this?) and only at the very end of the review, after saying that the cafe treats all its customers equally and loves them all, did they acknowledge the mistake saying sorry for the experience and to let them know if I still wanted a refund. Also told me that one of the baristas started crying upon hearing that I called her racist. Never once did I say anyone at the establishment was overtly racist. I felt looked down upon and mistreated, and deduced the difference in treatment from the looks and tone of the baristas with me vs their happy, cheerful, welcoming tone with others. Trying to gaslight a paying customer who tipped us crazy work. Self-serving, gaslighting, and little to no accountability for hairs being in an overpriced sandwich. Nor was there accountability for me feeling mistreated; just continuous denial and gaslighting. Don't come here. Other location might be great, so I'm only speaking about this one. Made me not want to visit Cape May again I've never cried like that and felt so mistreated and invalidated during, immediately after the encounter, and then while processing and reviewing the shop. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I gave this coffee shop a couple tries and its just not for me. The first time i went I got was a frozen mocha coffee which was very good but pretty pricey. It was mid summer so it was busy but the employees seemed a little tense and annoyed. The next time I came was off season and I got a hot mocha latte and it tasted chalky. My boyfriend got a blueberry scone and a London fog tea, he enjoyed it. The place is also cash or venmo only, they do have an atm inside. read more
