And it works... see below for what happened this morning! My dog is an adolescent, very large sighthound. This morning we were on a hike with her best friend, a similar aged pointer. We reached a clearing and right in front of us was a deer - both dogs immediately took off chasing it. Thanks to our recall work with COTW (and ongoing reinforcement) when I called her back from the chase she stopped in her tracks AND CAME RIGHT BACK! Our schedule is very irregular, so while we try to give her as much notice as possible, she's been a life saver even on very short notice. A 1yo lab mix just joined our family somewhat suddenly. He was a bit anxious and didn't warm up to everybody right away. From the first meeting, I could tell they were animal lovers and that our cats were going to be well cared-for. After coming back from our trip, we found a thorough note detailing the visits, the demeanor of the cats, observed food levels etc. The litter boxes were clean, the food and water bowls full, and the cats seemed very happy and unfazed by our absence. I saw toys scattered around, indicating that the cats had gotten some play time during the visits (this was also detailed in the note). It isn't easy entrusting your pets - and place - to strangers, but Bert and Jess put me at complete ease from the first meeting. I highly recommend their services!

I trusted them with my apartment and my cat but Jess came 'drunk out of her mind' per my door staff, cursing at them and making a scene in the lobby. She was so drunk she broke my beautiful side table. Shattered. Leaving the ceramic glass pieces all over the floor. Didn't even clean it up. My doormen went up to clean it so that my cat wouldn't cut herself. If you value your home and your pet, I'd stay clear of them.

My London has nipped people in the past as well, and he definitely doesn't warm up to anyone very quickly. When we first scheduled with them to meet the dogs they took copious notes on the dogs' idiosyncrasies and where all of the pet supplies are. They also presented us with a lovely folder that had their information and business card in it. It also contained sheets used to leave "walk reports" after they come by each day! I love these little stories Cathy leaves me about what London and Mei did each day on their walk. She also gives them pets and freshens their water and offers treats. I think this is how they came to adore her so quickly! (Even though I had her put raincoats on the dogs one day- I'm sure they knew that wasn't Cathy's fault.) They always get a good walk and have never had any problems. I live all the way down on 61st St. too, so they'll come very far south to exercise your furry kids. Cathy is always really quick to respond to my emails and has been more than understanding about my incredibly erratic schedule (which means I am often home when she arrives- oops.) I love that they use Bio Bags to scoop the dog poo, too. Call them :)
