The food is subpar and expensive. Wifi is very slow. Don't expect peace and quiet because the lobby is constantly playing loud country music. If your room is close to the outdoor pool you will hear every person coming in and out of the building. The list goes on. Positives: Monkey Grind. It's basically a Starbucks. The girl who works there is sweet and deserves a raise.

It was built by the WPA in 1936. I enjoyed walking around and learning more about Oklahoma history. This is also a great space for events. The museum has a myriad of artifacts and collections from notable people from Claremore including: Lynn Riggs, Andy Payne, Patti Page, Stuart Roosa, and Helen Robson Walton. It definitely feels like this was a grassroot effort, bringing together things to recognize the local history and share it with the community. Lynn Riggs family was involved in curating some artifacts and contributed to refurbish the building. Lynn Riggs was the famous Cherokee playwright that wrote: "Green Grow the Lilacs" from where the Rodgers & Hammerstein's stage play OKLAHOMA! evolved from and the movie OKLAHOMA! Probably one of the coolest pieces in the museum is the "surrey with the fringe on top," which was used in the actual OKLAHOMA! movie. The museum is a nonprofit that relies on public support and contributions. It does not receive any state or federal funding. Admission Is free but donations are welcomed.
