My puppy spent much of the class barking, and it was frustrating. The trainer separated the other dog into another room at one point and also tried using a wall as a barrier, but I did not feel there were many suggestions for how to handle the situation or help us make progress. The trainer herself was unable to help the situation, which did not instill confidence. I spoke with the trainer after the first couple of sessions because I did not feel like I was getting much out of the classes and my puppy was barking through most of them. After that conversation, I was essentially told it was not working to have my puppy in the class and that we should not continue. I asked for a partial refund, but one was not provided. They would not budge on that, even though we were being asked not to come back. After some back and forth, I was offered a private session, but my dog then had health problems that prevented us from training for a period of time. Ultimately, I decided not to go back. There is also judgment around people who use e-fences. I was told they would not even do private training with a dog that has an e-fence at home, which I do. In my conversations with employees, I was not offered best practices for people who already have e-fences, only disapproval. The space itself is nice for a small group setup, and it is clean. My dog and I are working toward AKC Canine Good Citizen and eventual therapy dog certification, so I have stayed consistent with training and have had better experiences elsewhere, including NK Petco and Mischief Managed. When I explained the scenario of the dogs being aroused in class to trainers at these other facilities they offered a list of solutions and things to try that worked.

We recently completed obedience training for our 15-month-old Golden Retriever, Breelee, and could…read morenot be happier with the results. Going into it, my greatest fear was that Breelee's happy-go-lucky personality -- the very thing that makes her so special -- would somehow be dulled or changed. I worried she might come home with dimmer eyes or a less joyful spirit. I'm thrilled to say the opposite happened. Breelee came home with the same bright, loving spirit -- but now she also listens beautifully! She comes when called, heels like a champ, and stays in her "place" perfectly, even with distractions. The transformation in her behavior has been amazing without sacrificing any of her sweet, bubbly nature. We owe it all to Chris and the team at Wild River whose expertise, patience, and care made this experience better than we could have hoped. We can't thank them enough and would highly recommend this training to anyone looking to bring out the best in their dog without losing what makes them so special.

Great experience at 4 paws. I just adopted a rescue pitbull…read morewho has been neglected without nail clippings for probably over a year. She's very traumatized from other dogs and freaks out as soon as she sees one. After failing to keep her composure for a nail clipping at the petco grooming center, their groomer recommended four paws. I called and spoke with reception, who was very understanding of the situation and assured me they'd be able to take my dog and work around whatever issues she has. They even gave me an appointment for the very next day. They have medical and DVM on staff so they can medicate and lightly sedate your dog, if necessary. When we arrived we left our dog in the car and checked in at the desk. The tech who was scheduled for us already knew my dog was reactive and came right out to instruct us on how to get to their side entrance to ensure my dog didn't cross paths with any other dogs. Her nail clipping webt swimmingly and the tech was extremely compassionate and understanding. We were in and out within 10 minutes. $12 for a nail clipping, which is even cheaper than petco. We'll be booking our monthly nail clippings with Taylor from now on!

I was apprehensive about using collar training for my rescue dog. He's a hound/pitbull mix who is…read moreyoung and very strong. While completely lovable, he was out of control when he first came to our house. While playing in the back yard, he nearly bit my BFF because he was so excited about running around and playing. I had taken another, far more docile dog to K9 Instincts for boarding for many years. Matt & his staff were exceptionally kind and caring to Rachel. I knew they also did training so I decided to call and have Axle evaluated. Axle went for a 3 week "boot camp" and it was completely worth the time and expense. Even though it's "shock collar" training, it completely transformed his behavior. After the first three or four months, we began to use the collar periodically in situations where we knew he may have some problems (he was rescued from a fighting dog situation, so he still struggles with other dogs). It's now really a pleasure to be out and about with Axle. While talking, Matt mentioned that I would probably enjoy Axle much more with training. He was completely right. I no longer have anxiety that Axle will be out of control and a threat to others.

I thought Brittany was very rude, condescending and acted like my dog had the worst behaviors of any dog. She is not aggressive and does not behave badly; she is just very vocal and reactive to other dogs when on leash. When I went back to pick her up, I noticed a big difference in her and was not happy about that. I feel like I got a very timid dog back and it took us about a year to get her back to her old self. Does she come when called and stay when I put her in a down and stay, sure, but she is still very vocal and still reactive to other dogs when on leash. So basically, they did not fix the issue that I brought her in for. The training is definitely not worth the money paid. I would not recommend this facility for training. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that you can get trained with your dog.

Kristina is always on time, always eager to help, and understands animals on SUCH a deep level. It's clear that this is a passion of hers, and it shows in the care she takes for every client.
