Walked in-three women behind and around the counter....crickets. No one even says hello. We start to look around and I'm talking to him about brands, sizing and heel styles thinking someone will come and help us. Nope-we were never acknowledged, not once. After 5 minutes or so, we walked out to take our business elsewhere. They didn't comment on our leaving either nor did anyone say "thanks for coming in". One thing I can say that's a positive-they are consistent....in providing the absolute worst customer experience! We walked in ready to drop whatever it cost, to get my husband good boots-and left with nothing except a sour taste in our mouths. I'll never go back and I'll tell everyone I run into to avoid it as well. Off to Knoxville now! PS With the advertising they do I was expecting a huge selection. There was no selection. A good selection of work boots, zero selection and a traditional cowboy boots. Only a few brands offered and very limited sizing.

There was such a variety of shoes I had a hard time deciding. I felt like a kid in a candy store. All merchandise was well organized. It was easy to find my size. I picked up a great pair of Florsheim dress shoes and a pair of Keen hiking shoes each for $50 bucks! Larry, the stock/salesperson, was so helpful. Great guy! If you are in or near the Crossville area, I highly recommend this shoe store. It's worth the trip.

And, that's exactly what we got! Amy at Starr Mountain Outfitters asked us all the right questions about what we wanted to experience and what our level of comfort was, she then gave us maps, directions, off the beaten path excursions, and even great places to eat. We owe our best memories to the places she recommended. As for the store, what can I say other than an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. Excellent brands, full ranges of sizes and styles for everything - very well stocked! I can't say enough great things about our experience with Starr Mountain Outfitters!!

The reason it has taken me several days was when I first opened Yelp this particular store had no reviews at all ~day or so after July 4th~ Suddenly a lonely one star review appeared, written by someone who obviously has a personal issue with that store or one of the staff members. The individual's ordeal seems to have nothing to do with the store itself but with one of the ladies working there. ~In all reality she probably would not go on a date with him~ BUT anyway the reason I failed to comment for over a week was fear of having this review seem like it was retribution for the previous review. MY WIFE DOES THAT ALL THE TIME!! and I tell her she is most definitely 5 years old Point being and I'll lay it out for you... 1. My son needed shoes 2. My son needed cleats 3. I needed something just wasn't sure what 4. I had limited time AND 5. I did not need fluff or a sales show blah blah (I have a Hibbett down the street from my office in Waynesville NC) so if they did not have what I wanted I'd simply go home to shop. And... Max (my youngest son) got 2 pair of shoes. I found 3 tops and a hat for the lake! My wife ended up with a gym shirt and some compression shorts. The choices were there. The staff was polite and did not bombard me with stupid sales pitches and false promises about their products! -GOD I HATE THAT- I got what I needed and found some things I wanted. I met my schedule and I did not pay a fortune. I don't know what else I would ask of Hibbett Sports. So, my hats off to you I would recommend your store to anyone!
