I tried to continue going since our RV was permanently housed there as a second home. But seeing this person (Sam) gave me such anxiety I just couldn't do it. I still have ptsd over this and as nice as the owners are I'll never forget that they turned a blind eye to this. This happened before me and it'll happen again. The campground should have eliminated this threat and chose not to.

Located by the Patuxent River with a breathtaking view, Endeavor Point, is a ridden gem with campground, private beaches you can swim, a huge fishing pier, and cottages for rentals. From the moment you step onto the grounds of this place you feel your entire body relaxing. It is an amazing experience! I rented a cottage (Mermaid Folly) for the weekend. The place was very well furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room furniture, very comfortable beds with soft linens, clean baths with soft towels. In general, the place was very clean, well decorated, and very functional. What I loved the most about the cottage was the balcony with a fantastic view, sitting outside under the tree close to the water, and listening to the waves breaking by the river shore. I also loved my walks in the mornings and afternoons by the breezy beaches and pier watching people fishing, the sunrising, and the sunset. I strongly recommend Endeavor Point if you want to just relax on a visit during the day, if you like camping overnight, or staying in a very comfortable cottage over the weekend.

We've had trails to wander, seen wildlife, and could even go crabbing, pots provided (both kinds, to catch and cook!). The park is serene and so beautiful with the estuary, river, beachy, and woodsy biomes to observe.

The government allows these companies to functionson, so they get the profi. You can't buy seeds for your 4 plants you are allowed to grow. I didn't give it low stars because it really isn't their fault. Maybe next year the government with get off its heiney and get on with what was promised to the voters.

Westmoreland state park is a true hidden gem located in Westmoreland past King George VA. It is…read moreclose to the George Washington Birthplace. Parking cost about $10 at the entrance. When I was driving in I noticed campgrounds but unsure if there are cabins. They have a nice playground and bathrooms close by. Near the visitor center there is also a Discovery Center however we did not stop by. The ranger let us know that they have more things to look at. We came to check out the Fossil Beach and found a small shark tooth. The rangers were very helpful and kept my kids very engaged while sharing all about the cool things this park has to offer. Inside the visitor center you can find snacks, water fountains, restrooms, air conditioning, a neat gift shop, turtles, and snakes. Ask about their Jr. Ranger program/booklet. It is very kid friendly even for older toddlers. Definitely make a day trip out of this park. In addition to shark teeth hunting you can also swim in the river. Many people were here with umbrellas and towels. It is about a 0.5 mile hike to get to Fossil beach.

They quickly assigned us pull through hook up site A06. Our site and fire pit were super clean as were the bathroom facilities which even had a nice laundry room. The view from the visitor center is breathtaking and the surrounding trails well manicured. Fossils Beach was a high point with an easy hiking level. Our camp host in A1 was very friendly and cleaned every site as it was vacated. I'd highly recommend this State Park gem while visiting VA.

There is no potable water, but there are trash cans and a portable potty. The rangers drove out to check on us a few times a day and they were very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. You can hike, bike, or paddle in to the campground. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Rangers will deliver corded fire wood if you choose to pay for it, but there is plenty of wood to forage as well.

Love this Campground!…read more Beach is small but if you want to skip the hours of sitting in traffic to put your toes in the sand, Breezy Point is it. My girlfriends and I came for a girls trip. We stayed at a friends camper in the Campground. All of the lots have running water, which is a plus. Conveniently the bath house was straight across from our camper. The 6 of us felt very safe at night walking the grounds. All of the other campers were extremely friendly. Campers rent their lots on a 6 months per year. For campers on the beach, the cost is $3000 a season. Beachfront is a lot of fun! Walk out your door onto the sand. Summer fun!

The pamphlet on how to treat jellyfish stings on the way OUT but not the way in is also atrocious. The water was packed completely with jellyfish. No one could go in the water. We left immediately as sitting on the sand meant being swarmed by biting flies. To get a refund apparently we have to MAIL our receipt to their office? Bull.
