Beautiful RV park. SUPER quiet. Almost feels like a "seniors only" location. Staff is VERY friendly. The only downfall is there is ZERO. internet. I know, I know....we are "glamping" but I need my TV shows at night and to pay my bills online. Other than that....gorheous snd clean!!! Bathrooms CLEAN! We arrived at this RV park and tried to book a spot through the website, but it didn't work because we wanted to book for the same day. There were plenty of available spots, but the administrator, Eric, refused to let us book one because our vehicle didn't meet the type requirements. Terrible service. We have stayed here previously and always enjoyed our stay. The new owners ( Outdoorsy) have made changes incorporating many cabins to the perimeter of this 36 acre park. Loved this place! We were only able to stay one night, but really loved it. Spacious RV sites, wide and level. Beautiful, quiet setting, lots of trees, a stream and a fishing pond. We stayed here for two nights on our trip around Colorado it was amazing! The staff was very polite and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Bayfield Is a quaint town with very friendly people. My only complaints were 1. I wasn't told when making the reservation a month in advance that the restrooms were closed due to the Covid-19 mess. 2. A lot of traffic noise due to the park being located right on highway 160 it was non stop. 3. There was quite a few people who allowed their dogs to be off leash and last but not least parents need to teach their children to be a little quieter in the early morning if they're going to play in the water behind others campers next time get a river spot screaming kids at 7:30 am isn't fun. This is one of our favorite RV Resorts. We have stayed many times and it is always true pleasure to stay here. It is so beautiful and peaceful. The owners and staff really go above and beyond. The customer service is excellent. You can always tell when you are at a park that the owners are true RV enthusiast. As for the park the streams and ponds are absolutely beautiful. The roads and spaces are all level and gravel. So no dust. With beautiful trees and grass throughout the park. Even a 45 foot coach can maneuver easily. This is a true big rig park. You will not find a nicer RV park in Durango or Bayfield Colorado to stay. I promise you that. Updated : 8/24/16 Another great stay at Bayfield Riverside RV park. Many new changes and improvements have been added to the park. Additional private sites, new assault entry, and many new landscaped seated areas for relaxing. I don't know where they placed all the RVs with all the positive reviews but we're in a virtual parking lot with our sewer smack dab in front of someone else's front door. We're probably not even six feet away from the next camper! Ok I'm going to say what no one is saying here. WE ARE PACKED IN LIKE SARDINES! I was a full time nomad for over a year and this is by far not what we expected after a ten hour drive! BEWARE: Don't do it. The flowers and such are icing on a cake with way too many layers (rows) of tightly squeezed RVs. We have a back in spot but it's looks like a man made stream. You've got to be kidding me for $51 a night! First night we'll see. Right now very unhappy! read more

We had reservations last month but unfortunately our fifth wheel had issues and we had to cancel at the very last minute. I was so distraught over our brand new rig needing a major repair and losing the entire amount for the stay at Outdoorsy that I had paid in advance. You can receive a full refund if you give at least two weeks notice. The staff at Outdoorsy not only gave me a FULL refund but were very sympathetic to my plight. We will definitely be staying here in the near future just based on the friendliness of the staff not to mention the resort looks stunning! Thank you so much! read more

Bayfield is a very beautiful and well maintained RV park. We had plenty of space and enjoyed our stay. One day, we spent much of the day at our trailer because it was so nice. It's well worth driving out of Durango to stay at this particular park. read more

This place has a lot of potential. Running streams and ponds wind their way through part of the property. Unfortunately they removed the lake view rv spots to set up glamping tents to rent. That is very disappointing. The rv sites themselves are poorly maintained with weeds and dead grass throughout. As you drive in you can see the potential beauty of the place as the front is highly maintained with lush grass and flowers. This is only a front and almost a bait and switch technique. It was a pretty pricey place for their lack of landscaping. They did offer bbq's and s'mores at the front but they required a fee which was also unfortunate as many places offer these free. Also the front office is very clean and new which one could notice the costs being passed to the customers with a purchase of a $3 single uncrustable sandwich!! $3????One of the positives is that you can see the fireworks from Bayfield on the 4th of July and you are close to Durango and Pegosa Springs read more

This park is very pretty as the web site shows. After that it is all fluff. When you call they don't answer the phone. Linda is outside smoking and Maxine could care less. I requested an eleven day stay and was told 6 consecutive days were the most that was available. I told Maxine that I could dry camp for a couple days on a friends property, if she could get me back in later. I booked the 6 days and never heard another word. When we arrived both Linda and the fellow that escorts said we were booked for 11 days. I showed them my 6 day reservation. They escorted me to the very least desirable spot. Later when My wife requested a better spot she was told nothing was available. On my right was a junky looking class A, 80's vintage, painted flat black with a brush. On the left was a young couple, year round residents running a construction business. read more

If you are in the Durango area this is the place to stay! Absolutely gorgeous with lots to do without even leaving the grounds. Beautiful stocked ponds and streams for catch and release fishing. We even got to watch a beaver and baby ducklings swimming in the pond. Boarding the Pine River for unique river access. Convenient access from the highway to pagosa springs or Durango. Lots of National forest access nearby for fishing, hiking, biking. Family owned park - they take a lot of pride in what they do. Grounds are immaculate with friendly staff. Beautiful seasonal decor and flowers. Our family really enjoyed our stay and hospitality provided by the owners. We can't wait to go back and make Bayfield rv resort a yearly trip. read more

The park has a very upkept appearance. Located next to the highway with the occasional truck drives by you can hear it outside or with the windows open. We love our spot next to the stream going through the property. In this modern world, we still have a requirement to stay connected with the world. The internet is less than acceptable. After inquiring at the office, they only say we only have so much bandwidth. With 100+ spots, this place should invest in an internet source that supports their guests. Good enough for the office is not good enough service for the guests. This Gem of a place only has this issue that keeps the review being marked higher. read more

We read so much about this park and were excited to stay, but I think I either expected more than I should, or I enjoyed the pictures more than I should. I don't get the Alpaca being tied to a tree all alone all day long, but guess that's an animal control issue, not mine. The office lady lacked some customer service training, yikes! Unfortunately, we had a personal issue, and had to leave 4 days into our stay, bad enough we had to leave, then found they do not do refunds for ANY REASON! so we left @ $190.0 in their purse. Do they think that will make you stay?? They say absolutely all dogs on a leash, and I saw several running loose. You can put lipstick on a pig, but you still have a pig. Great grounds and that's it! Won't be back. This park has real potential, but lacks the vision. read more

His first name is Al and last name is Paca. There's a swing out on the lawn my husband and I swayed on while watching Al. It was located about 20 miles from Durango. read more

If I could I would give them 0 stars. Came in and from the start the woman working was rude right off the bat. Then someone was parked in front of the trailer we were getting, so we asked for the park to move the RV so we could get out and she said "No Problem,let me call him" so we waited for nearly 45 minutes for her to return. When she did she said he was 2 hours away so we would have to wait for him because "he is the only one experienced enough" to reverse the RV back 3 feet. She then said it would not have been parked there if we had given notice that we were getting it, but the gentleman we were getting it from had called the owner earlier this week telling him he were getting the trailer. Overall, the lady that works there is absolutely terrible. When you come here expect terrible service. I'll give them one thing, that the property is beautiful, but that is probably the only reason they're still in business. read more

This was second visit to this park. Beautiful setting with gorgeous flowers. Staff is friendly. Park location is great for seeing southwest Colorado! Washer and dryers were not always working. We had to go to Bayfield to do laundry. Laundry room was dirty. Also, some trees are dead and others have dead limbs in them. Danger of falling on coach during windy days. Traffic noise has increased dramatically, especially jake brake use on trucks. read more

This is a beautiful campground. Very friendly staff. Streams and ponds stocked with catch and release trout. So so many beautiful flowers that are maintained daily. Huge dog area that they don't have to be on a leash. Will definitely come back here. Owner is very friendly and walks around greeting everyone. This place inspires me for my own backyard!! read more

Green grass & flowers everywhere. There are rigs of all types & sizes here. The spaces offer ample room. Spaces on the streams are gorgeous. Almost all spaces have grass. Fishing; catch & release is permitted. The kids play in the streams & on their tubes. The bathrooms are cleaned daily & are always clean. There are onsite washers & dryers. All work perfectly. The Owners (Mac & Joy) try very hard to accommodate all guests. Joy loves flowers. There are flower displays throughout the park. We travel with a dog. Although there is not a fenced dog area, it is not needed. There is a large meadow, trails & grass throughout the park. Mac recommended great local restaurants that we have tried. Great food. Riverside offers special events such as weddings, group and family reunions. This is the 2nd year we have stayed. This year we are staying the summer. It is very relaxing and peaceful. The entire park is well maintained and clean. read more

We have stayed here twice, once back in February after a big snow storm for a few weeks and then for a month, April through the beginning of May. Joy and Mack, the owners, are great people and the property (when not covered in snow and ice) is gorgeous! The RV spaces aren't cramped, the have grass and gravel spots and some are even shaded with beautiful trees. The have ponds and creeks on the property to fish in (catch and release) or you can just sit and enjoy all that nature and the property provides with benches and seating areas throughout the park. There are a lot of areas to walk and hike, both on the property, or across the street in a nature park/visitor center. Dogs are allowed and welcomed. They have a recreation room with comfortable couches and tables to sit and read a book or play a board game with your family. They have laundry facilities on site, restrooms and showers, and their prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, too. We love this park and wouldn't hesitate to visit here again. read more

This is our second visit and we love it. Lots of grassy areas for kids and dogs. Everyone is very nice. If you ask Mack for fish food he will give the kids a container of it. Our granddaughter loves feeding the fish. read more

Tent camping review: First off the RV park is very well maintained. Most of the pictures on website do this place justice. Landscaping was beautiful. My wife and I were looking forward to spending two nights here on our road trip to Colorado. We enjoy tent camping and sometimes like these RV/tent parks for the amenities. When we arrived we were escorted to an open field behind the RV park. (the person in the cart referred to it as a meadow). It was a large area and we were told to pick a spot. There were no picnic tables, no assigned spots, and a very long walk to restroom and shower. Reviewing the website the area where they show tent camping was not the field in back. They finally brought us a picnic table and we picked a spot in the large field. As we were setting up we realized we were in an area where the RV campers walked their dogs. The staff in office was not friendly towards myself or my wife. After the first night we were a little disappointed. The next morning I had car problems and needed my battery jumped. Older gentlemen in cart, would not help, said the owner had to make the call, and they were not on the property. Wow!! After a fellow RV camper helped us we decided to skip the next night and move on. I knew not to ask for refund do to other reviews. Tent campers, you have been warned. read more
