5/5 We've been coming to Tico Time ever since they first opened, and it's been one of our favorite spots for family getaways. While we've always loved the park for its fun atmosphere and beautiful setting, it's been awesome to see how much it's improved over the years. From last year to this year, the updates have been incredible. The park is so much cleaner and well-maintained, and the new slide is seriously the best I've ever seen -- my kids can't get enough of it! Every visit is packed with swimming, camping, and fun activities that keep everyone entertained. If you're looking for a great place to camp, swim, and make memories, I highly recommend Tico Time. It's a blast for the whole family, and it just keeps getting better! read more

Stayed here for one night while traveling through. Beautiful area. Right on Animas River, we didn't use activities but would be great for families who want water fun! Very clean and quiet! Will stop by again! read more

We were a large group coming together from different states and this was an activity we had planned to do with our kids. We were scheduled to start at 10:30 AM and at 10:37 AM, we got a phone call that the river was too high and they had to cancel our reservation. The company was hoping the river would go down in time. I live in Colorado and I know when the river is high and running fast that it's not "going down." It's not a bathtub. They didn't even call until after we were scheduled to start and there was no one on site to speak with. They obviously didn't charge us, but we drove almost an hour to get there from our house when we could've been making other plans. Not cool. read more

Tico time was a great place to spend for 4th of July. The firework show was the best I have seen in years. A few things could be up-kept a bit better. But it's a super chill relaxing place. My 14 & 16 years had a blast at the slides, tubing the river and the zip lines. Our Rv space was great and spacious. I was a bit nervous of the noise as others had posted. But wasn't an issue for us. read more

RV park is well laid out. And staff was very nice. If we had our grandkids with us they would have enjoyed the activities. Location is very close to Durango, Co. We would go back if we were in the area. read more

My family and I celebrated Father's Day, my girlfriend's birthday and my sons birthday there. We had such a wonderful time. The staff was amazing, especially Amber Lee. She was very helpful and nice. Had an Amazing time at the Tico.T.R.R. first annual Reggae Music Festival. My Fiancé Mister Kali was one of their performers...he opened for Perfect Giddimani, which was such a blessing for us and Kali, we are humongous apprecilovers of Perfect. He is such a creative and whimsical Reggae artist. So what's more is, this amazing new venue also had Niceness, Fortunate Youth, Jahdan Blakkamoore, Lion Heights from Austin Tx...Casper from Hopiland and the meeting of the nations with sweet AM 'ceremonia's' if you will. And so yes,, just wow....the sound quality is amazing....the fire works on all three nights were EPIC! And as advise to anyone who takes these fire works on as a spectator, in the future....please stand at least 150 feet back....it seemed to take a while for people to listen to that, and grasp that there is hot FIRE nearby...so yeah. But Jah Bless, no I's were hurt or injured. Great little Separated 'lagoon', (again...if you will, will you? I'm so baked.) That has been siphoned into by the River right behind it. It's just so sweet there. My Mister Kali and I are A little worried it might outgrow itself, so only come if you really LOVE Reggae. Camping was really nice, be sure to pack lots of warm blankets AND sleeping bags. At night it turns into the arctic circle. The crowd was just lovely...Gorgeous people, everyone super Irie and cleaned up after themselves. Which is important..LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT. Food Vendors were great, Pineapple Express had whole cut open Pineapples with natural slushies inside. I set up a merch tent next to the other vendors. Among us was the EPIC 'Rainbow Spectrums'...Sage and her Beau...were so sweet, helpful and their gear was so dope, tye dye gallore....very interesting patterns..handmade wares alike. We will be back next year... Thank you Tico Time, thank you Ras Stevie..you're a joyful soul, thank you performers and thank you people out there who came. Maybe a few more New Mexico peeps will roll through next time..I know Mr.Kali will appreciate it. Oh and just lastly (best for last) Ras Elijah Tafari did a group talk on one of the days of the festival, look him up on IG and inform yourself about The need to Reform the United Nations as well as familiarize yourself with his wonderful artwork. 20 minutes south of Durango, Colorado and GREAT!!!! Our grandkids were 8 and 10. They loved the ziplines, water slides, paddleboards, etc. Durango is getting a bit plastic and very impressed with itself, Tico Time was more laid back and better for younger children. The only negative was the staff smoked and in front of children. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but smoking is a poor example for children. We are so glad we stopped here. read more

What a fun place. The view was beautiful. The slides were so much fun. Dog parks, zip line's, river adventures. This place was amazing. Frisbee golf is also available. We saw 2 great bands perform as well. Next time we will for sure camp there. Great venue for a show and very user friendly. The whole staff were top notch!! read more

We recently stayed a full week at Tico Time. We had an awesome time! The resort is not finished and we can't wait to go back once it is. There are beautiful spots along the river to sit and relax, a water slide that will leave you laughing like a kid, a sandy beach pond with paddle boards, beach volleyball, a trampoline, horse shoes, and corn hole. The dog park is ginormous and they were putting in a dog wash station while we were there. We also took the guided paddle board trip down the river which had beautiful scenery. The resort is conveniently located close to Durango with so much to do there too. Do yourself a favor and visit Tico Time! read more

We came for Durango Festivus weekend and the festival side of things was incredible. Great people that put it on. As for tico time, fairly disappointing experience. The last night we are there when we have to drive back tomorrow over 13 hours home, the staff is proceeding to party until currently which is 2 AM. Hoping it will stop soon. We went over and kindly asked for them to turn the music down because we had a long drive tomorrow. I was cussed out and told "not to mess with the staff". Fully admit I pulled the plug to their power on the way back out of annoyance for how they were treating guest. Called the office and they said they would talk to them. Only got louder over the next 30 minutes. Called back and the office worker told me it was the staff and they did nothing wrong. I let the woman know that I felt it was uncalled for for staff to speak to guest like that. She said I shouldn't have pulled the power cord and to deal with it. I am 29 years old, I am all for having a good time but you should always be respectful to people around you. Very disappointed in the way the office handled this. She proceeded to pull up and shine the lights in my tent from the golf cart. When I poked my head out of my tent to see what was up she said I work here and provided no explanation as to why she was shining her lights in my tent for 5 minutes straight. It is now almost 2 am and the music is still blaring while the staff screams over it. So frustrated with this experience read more

My family and I spent 5 days here in August and after viewing the website and Facebook posts I was really excited. The dog park was nice and big. The sites were big as well. Fairly level, gravel, but no shade. The water slide was fun! We did the tube ride down the river, unfortunately you have to pay during the weekend, so we waited till Monday to do it. The paddle board pond was also pretty cool. We've been RVing for a couple years now and have visited many sites. So when we first arrived, my initial impression was not good. The lady at the desk didn't really know where my site was and then we walked around the campground till we found it. I then maneuvered over there without a guide or anything like that. Nothing was ever explained to me about the amenities upon arrival. There were no picnic tables at the sites(meals outside are nice) and we don't pack an extra table in the camper. At most campgrounds, the staff or others usually come around to see how things are going and stuff like that. That didn't happen here, except for one gentleman(Chris) who I spoke with, he was the only one that seemed to actually care about guests. He dropped me off up the river so I could float down and fish which was really cool! It just seemed like you had to figure everything out on your own. Where's the shower, toilet, laundry? Can we just use the paddle boards? Do you guys have WIFI(no). Overall, I felt that there was little customer service. The website and FB page make this place seem amazing, but in my opinion it was a little underwhelming. Anyway, probably wouldn't recommend to stay here longer than a day or so. Calling this place a resort is a stretch. read more

I'm giving this resort 4 stars because my kids did have a blast. We we found this resort on accident as we were in Texas. We made a long drive 17 1/2 hours as this place looked absolutely incredible online. We got there late and nobody really explained anything to us so we had to walk around and just check it out. The next day we kind of camped out on one of the little beaches that they had that was very nice next to the river. Now a lot of stuff that they say they have is not ready. The zip lines in the wall. We saw some people doing it we went across the river. To find out it was the owner. We told him our displeasure of us driving all that way as they said they had all these activities and a lot of it wasn't ready. He was going to take us up but then it started to storm very badly. We all went back to our campsites. The next morning he did come to our campsite right away and asked us to go on the wall and to bungee jump. Kids did have a blast. The ponds that they have a round are very nice as they are fitted with paddle boards and lifejackets. The waterslide was a huge hit. Have a great gazebo with pool table A huge barbecue and a beach volleyball court with music as well. I feel that next year this resort is going to be a lot of fun and definitely a must see. We will probably make the trip back just to see once everything is finished but one major downfall is they are going to charge for everything. So if you want to go tubing you need to pay. Do you wanna go zip lining you need to pay. This could be a very expensive RV vacation read more

This place is amazing! Clean, quiet, friendly place. Between the pond, river, slide, volleyball court and camp my kids, dogs and family were exhausted every night. Close to Durango and Farmington, plus I know there is more being developed at the resort. Can't wait for summer time again, we will be back!! read more

I would leave zero stars if I could. Our encounters with the Operations Manager were horrible. Staff wouldn't tell us if his name is Chris Adams or Michael Saunders, but he rudely harassed us for driving our vehicle over the bridge to the tent camping area, despite the website saying in two different places that driving to the camping area is allowed. In less than 24 hours, he drove up to us *six different times* in his huge truck, kicking up clouds of dust and harassing us. He claimed that tent campers have to park at the top of the property and either lug all of our camping stuff about 1/2 a mile to the camp site or pay him $10 a trip to be "shuttled" across the bridge. NOWHERE on the website or on the literature for the "resort" that the tent camp site is walk-in only. He also demanded we leave the property instead of staying to see the band before we continued on to Durango because he "isn't stupid and knows we are just trying to stay another night for free". He was so incredibly rude that it ruined our entire experience. The actual site is ok- it's just an RV park with a couple of ponds to play in. But the Australian Operations Manager made it a bad experience. He enforced rules that don't exist, but did NOT enforce important rules that Do exist, like the Fire Ban in New Mexico. The general manager also lied to me and told me the manager was "on vacation" when I asked her for information on the owners so I could tell them about their Operations Manager. read more
