It has always been good, and we definitely won't let this deter us from returning. Ms T had her usual Shrimp basket lunch. The issue was that the shrimp were not cooked through. They were still translucent. We totally understand not wanting to overcook shrimp, but these were not quite done. On the bright side she commented on how good the slaw was. I have been on a kick to try barbecue at restaurants that are not barbecue joints per se, to see if I can find some hidden gems. For example, both Sam & Omie's and Wanchese Marina serve a good barbecue sandwich. Black Pelican, at least on this day, does not. I must say, the serving was huge. This was more than enough for two meals for me. The barbecue was dry and not well flavored. The texture and flavor was more like dried out beef that has been over-roasted. This is not something I would order again here. All that being said, I am leaving the rating for Black Pelican as it is because we have always had good meals here. I accept that it can't be 100% perfect every time and sooner or later we will run into something that is less than stellar. We will continue to return. I just know this not where I will have barbecue and we are sure the shrimp thing was just a one timer.

We beat the crowds and got a table on the upstairs patio. It technically looks out over the ocean, though from our spot, it was mostly a view of the sand! We ordered their famous recommended dish and said it was amazing. My Salmon was great too! The only downside? The service really went downhill after the food arrived. Despite being the only ones on the patio, our waiter never checked back in. A couple of waitresses were just hanging out by the bar on their phones, too. Eventually, one of them noticed our cleared plates, asked about dessert, and just brought the bill. No "how was everything?" or "can I get you anything else?"--which was a bummer for such a highly recommended spot!

I love taking the Nordic Naturals D3 gummies but couldn't find the 5,000 IU except for here in-person. I have bad D deficiency so this was god send for me. Same with finding good low odor white chia seeds. I just wish they placed them near the grains and legumes instead of nuts and seeds. I had a hard time finding them when I visited the store. The deli/meat counter customer service was helpful and efficient. Produce department was organized and everything looked fresh and ripe. Looking forward to revisiting again in the future.

It began as I entered the store carrying two small packages destined to be returned to Amazon. Since I had never been in this store, I am from out of state, I was lost. A hurried Whole Foods employee with hardly a glance much less a 'good morning' (FYI for any Whole Foods management... this occured at 945am on August 27 ... and yes I will be going to their website to share this report because I am really unhappy!) basically demanded that I go to a door situated behind the registers ... no niceties just a brutal command as she rushed by (In NJ such an attitude might deserve a certain hand response because I felt like crap in this overpriced store!). The young woman in Amazon Returns pretty much pulled the boxes away from me. I said 'good morning' and I may have heard a grunt but her face said "screw you." I pointed out that the one box needed tape and she glared saying "I HEARD YOU!" I then asked for a receipt and it was almost as if she was baring her fangs as she spitted "you'll get them in your email within two weeks!" I am not sure if her speechless coworker gave a damn or concurred or was in shock but I felt worthless knowing I would never return!! I then walked briefly around the store ... no southern hospitality and prices 10-20% higher than neighboring stores plus it seems like the janitorial team hasn't cleaned the floors lately!! I hurried to my car which is where I am writing this because I didn't want to forget my furor at the total lack of customer care I just experienced!!

It was my first time, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but definitely when you step you feel transported. Reminds you of cute small bistro you would find in Europe, but we're lucky we have one here! The furniture is modern and the decore is cute with a coastal feeling. I couldn't wait to try the breakfast platter, and I am so happy I did! Look how healthy and beautiful my platter is (see pics). I had the balsamic vinegar on the side. Also, just a tip.. if you do not want salt preadded to your eggs or anything else just let them know. The pic I took is the owner and local farmer that supplies the fresh eggs! So folks you know it's fresh and delicious! If you want to support both your local restaurant and farmer this is the place! You will love it! I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.

From the moment I walked in, the owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. You can tell right away that this is a place run with heart and pride. While placing my order, I had time to browse, and wow! this place is a little Italian dream. They offer a variety of handmade biscotti and classic pastries like napoleons, tiramisu, berry tarts, and rich chocolate cakes that all looked straight out of a bakery in Italy. Everything felt authentic and thoughtfully curated, not mass produced. They also carry Italian imported olive oil and a beautiful selection of deli meats, including capocollo, mortadella with pistachio, prosciutto crudo, ham, salami, and sopressata, plus cheeses like mozzarella di bufala and stracchino. It's the kind of place where you can build the most incredible antipasto board or grab specialty items you can't easily find elsewhere. If you have time to linger, they also offer a variety of Italian wines by the glass or bottle, representing different regions of Italy. It makes the space feel even more like a neighborhood market meets cafe, perfect for picking up catering, desserts, or just treating yourself. The penne alla vodka was a hit at the party! It was creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Everyone kept asking where it was from. I can't wait to have it again Between the warm service, authentic offerings, and standout food, this place is a gem. I'll absolutely be back, whether it's for catering, pastries, or just to browse and grab a glass of wine!
