Originally drove by and saw the wig and costume shop down the street. Thankfully I'm in walking distance so I went there and walked past this spot. Exactly what I'm looking for. Prices and selection comparable to the Wig Shop in Beverly Hills area which is closer to my home. The sales attendant, I believe also the manager, was super accommodating and answered questions about wig care and maintenance. She also cut the front for me and did a great job of doing so. You can see this is a popular spot for celebrities I guess as they have photos lining the cashier stand. I'd definitely come back if I were in this area! Omg! Are you kidding me with the negative reviews? First of all Rufina's worked on my wigs recently so there really hasn't been much change and the other stylists are just as talented and helpful. When I arrived the store was closed early?!? I tried to call & sent a text... only to get a response the next day saying "sorry".... I have been a loyal customer of your store for a decade, and it pains me to inform you that I have lost all confidence in the service your establishment provides. Last Sunday, I visited your store in person to order a simple wig, a process that should have been straightforward and stress-free. After looking through the inventory with staff, they instructed me it would be best to order this style as they didn't have a simple blonde bob in store. I expressed my willingness to pay a deposit, but to my surprise, I was told that it was unnecessary. I was informed that someone would reach out to me the following day to confirm the order details, gather my information, and discuss the pricing. However, when Monday - Friday came and went without a single word from your team, I decided to call in to follow up on my order. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of an utterly distressing experience. I was put on hold not once, but four times, as your staff struggled to locate my order. To make matters worse, I was informed that the wig had not even been ordered, and the proposed price for a simple blonde bob wig was an astounding $279. This pricing shocked me, as it was more than three times the amount I had previously paid for such wigs at your store. When I asked for an explanation regarding the significant price increase, I was met with nothing but rudeness and condescension from the female wo orders the wigs, I'm assuming a manager of some sort I was speaking with. She did not allow me to voice my concerns or ask any questions, continuously talking over me. I wanted to inquire whether it was possible to obtain the wig without any customization, as the base price I was quoted began at $199. However, the employee's unprofessional conduct made it impossible for me to get any clarification. To add further insult to injury, she suggested that I simply visit the store and choose a wig myself if I found the customization too expensive. What she failed to understand was that I had already visited the store in person, and a week later, I am still without the wig I initially wanted to order. I must stress how truly disappointed and upset I am by this entire experience. After a decade of patronage, I expected a higher level of service and professionalism from your establishment. This incident has left me with no option but to seek alternatives for my wig purchases in the future. I urge you to seriously consider the customer-facing personnel in your store, as it is my firm belief that individuals who engage with customers should be held to a higher standard of courtesy, professionalism, and efficiency. The way I was treated is inexcusable and goes against the very essence of good customer service. I needed a movie quality monster bride wig made to my particular specifications so naturally I went up to Hollywood , CA on September 6th to have a Bride of Frankenstein wig created. When I approached Outfitter Wigs they said they had experience creating this style wig before and mostly for drag queens. Perfect! With that tidbit of information, I knew then that I was in the right place and the wig would turn out well. I place my order and picked up the wig one week later on Friday the 13th. What better day? She was very sweet and patient with my laundry list of questions and super informative on all of her wigs and products, etc. She had plenty of maintenance advice as well as styling tips. What can I say about Outfitters Wig ? I needed a wig for my photoshoot and I got it. They provided me with what I wanted. What else do you need ? You need to go to a place and receive what you want! Now, if you buy a wig with a long hair, get a brush and a spray from their store too and ask them to explain it to you how to take care of it. Their prices vary from $80 to a $100. Buying a special brush, spray and a wig cup is gonna cost you around $25 ( check my receipt below). If you, by any chance, have a wig that has been used and doesn't look like a new one, they can "refresh" it for you for $55 which is probably not worth it cause you can buy a new one for $85. I haven't done it though. Anyway they have a good location and their staff is always willing to help you. read more

I wish I could still recommend this place. The service is terrible, and the staff rude. I purchased a Cinderella wig last year for $289.99 and when we received it, it looked like someone just took an axe to the edges. It looked like a toddler did the edges of the wig. Not worth $289.99. I had to take it to a stylist and pay her $100 plus all of the time to get there and back and wait on it, to fix the wig. It took days for Outfitters to get back to us, and when she finally did, she offered as a $150 credit as an apology. I tried for months to use the credit, to be told the stylist was sick, and they couldn't do a wig. 4 months later, they finally agreed to do a sleeping beauty wig. First, she tried to short change the credit she offered, took days to get back to us, and then finally agreed to the price. Then, she said we were to pay additional for shipping. And the a charge comes down for $76 on additional shipping. There was an error on the receipt that the post office charged for a 23 pound wig instead of a 3 so I messaged her. She said she would call at noon. 12:30 comes and goes and she doesn't call. I call. She hung up the phone on me. I've contacted her multiple times - and she told me to file a claim with the post office. It doesn't take a genius to know that the only person who can file a claim is the party that paid. She refuses to message or answer my calls now. I will never recommend this shop again after 10 years of business with them because the last year has been so terrible. Save your money. Order from other shops that are kind, have good customer service, and don't hang up on customers. read more

I went to outfitters wig today to get some work done on my wig that I had overpaid for. I was greeted by the blond lady, who I believe is the manager or owner. Bee Bee is her name. She was very rude and dismissive from the start. I told her what I needed done as I have been there 7 times now and she still has not corrected her mistake, aHowever. I was already feeling frustrated having to go back 7 seperate times , but I decided to go ahead with the work anyway. The work was not done properly, and there were still a few problems with my wig. I went back today again to have her cut the wig correctly she immediately lost her temper. She started flipping signs at me and cussing me out. I was so shocked and embarrassed that I just left. She wanted to attack me with a object in her store. This bitch is NUTS. she was off her medication today. I would never recommend Outfitters wig to anyone. The customer service is horrible, and the work is not done properly. If you want to get a right wig, take your business elsewhere. They had called and told me it would cost more since they could not get what I saw, but they would cut and style. I asked that nothing be done till I saw wig but they still cut wig. It was not what I saw or wanted, Told lady I would send more pics and she said she would look for me. I have waited for over a month with no communication and finally called to cancel order and ask that my deposit of $200 be returned. I was told per contract, that I never saw or signed, there was no refund. Said I was paying for their research and these things take tI've. Never go there. They are unethical scammers. And so, party people, I give you Outfitters Wig of Hollywood. This little joint has been around forever and their selection is great. They have blond wigs, brunettes, reds and more. Long hair, short hair, bobbed hair, and even that wig that Sammantha wore on that Sex and The City episode where she walks in on Richard with another woman. You know, the Raquel Welch collection. Yeah, it's here. They also have really competitive prices and are generally about 10% cheaper than Hollywood Toys & Costume. I would pay an additional 10% just to not have to wait in that hellish line :) So if you are in the market for a wig, give em a go. I needed a custom Bride of Frankenstein wig in auburn. It's beautiful, it's held up great (I wear it every couple of weeks), and it's all just teasing and hairspray. They worked from photos and then made the final adjustments when I made it to the store in person (which for me involves an airplane trip). I've thought about having someone else style it but am not sure I'd trust anyone else. One of my acquaintances occasionally appears as an Elvira impersonator, or a Betty Page. Her wigs have to look great; merely OK is not an option. When I told her I'd gotten my wig here, she agreed that this is the best place in Hollywood to get a serious, beautiful wig, particularly if you're looking for something in a beehive or heavily sprayed style where a cheap costume wig just won't cut it. They do film and TV work; they're good. They're fairly patient and will work with you if you have only a general idea of what you want, or aren't sure what color will flatter you. They'll style the wig then and there. Do this if you can; they ship but it's ghastly expensive and you may not get exactly what you want. They suggest calling first; I've been lucky but if you're there during a rush you may not get individual attention. Prices are a little high, but with the styling I think it's worth it. I get wigs wholesale back home from a friend, but a good wig is more a kit than a finished item; without proper styling it won't impress. read more

Halloween 2007 I was the Bride of Frankenstein and needed a killer wig to top off my costume and I found it at Hollywood Wigs! I remember walking towards the window display on the phone with my bf when he asked how long I would be and I answered "I just found the most beautiful wig ever!" There it was, it was huge and black with perfect white streaks! I don't know if I got a deal to be honest but I knew I had to have it! They have such an amazing collection!
