Please do not do business with this company. We purchased a boat on April 15th. Signed all of the papers that day. I traded in a Harley and we are 29 days later and it has still not been paid off. We have been promised every week - that the payoff has been sent. Also - when we took delivery of the boat we were not given any temp tags. I had to go to the office two times to get these. And - the boat had zero gas in at the time of delivery. They have finally sent in the payment and offered us 50% of a future service. In my opinion - that isn't enough. read more

The payoff number that was quoted into our contract it's not the number they paid off they waited until I had to pay another payment. Run, RUN as fast as you can! We traded in two jet skis for a boat. Two months later, we're still missing a cushion and the title work for the boat! We have been told every day for two weeks it was either shipped or someone will come personally to deliver it. The BEST part is, they never paid off our jet skis! Due to it would wreck our credit if we didn't continue to make payments, we've made almost $1,000 in jet ski payments and have our boat payment! They tell us every day they wired the money to the bank, it just takes a while to hit! REALLY? Wire transfers are immediate. I can't even get a copy of the wire transfer they say they sent. Like many of the reviews, I also experienced issues post-game. In fact, 9 months later, still unresolved. Despite being sold to another firm, Outpost and its new ownership does not "do what it says," which is customer service 101. Having purchased a brand new pontoon, it took me forever, with constant follow-up to get the boat title, warranty information, etc. Upon inspection of the boat on the very first day it was delivered, I reported damage to the underside of the pontoon. Having been promised that all would be remedied at first boat engine first maintenance, I could never get the Outpost service manager to respond. Then in November of 2019, I was pleased to learn it was sold and spoke to management of the new firm. Lots of promises and commitments to make it right and stand by their boat, with the time past since November, no action. I would recommend avoiding this marine group. I had been searching for a new boat for no less than two months. I am located in Charleston South Carolina where there are no Shearwater dealers. After searching the Internet I found Outpost Marine Group located near Tampa Florida. My sales experience with Mark was entirely over the phone. I had never seen the boat before taking deliver; however, Mark instilled great confidence. Bought a used boat from these folks. While on sea trial the motor didn't run correctly so salesman went to replace water separater for fuel and it was so tight that he pulled the entire until from the transom. They patched the holes and reattached it. This has been about two months ago and I just went to check the filter myself and again, the filter was tightened up so much that the unit has come loose from the transom. These filters are only supposed to be hand tightened. I was using large channel locking pliers and the filter still didn't budge. I had nothing but problems with the service center. After I put a deposit down on the boat it was two months before they got the motor to run correctly and it only had 200 hours on it. Would never take anything to this place for service. Here is my experience with Brian Dreggors On August 1st 2019 I purchased a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix from Motorsports Unlimited in Palm Harbor Florida for the sum of 5,595 dollars. I still have not received a title for this vehicle. The vehicle was said to be in great working order with no problems. I was told that its great and "I would love it!" The vehicle was finally shipped to me on August 19th 2019. The vehicle was shipped from Motorsports Unlimited in Palm Harbor Florida to Wheeling WV. As soon as the shippers got the vehicle off of the trailer the ABS light was illuminated as well as the traction control light and the emergency brake light. Also the front seat was broken, all four tires were bald, the vehicle had a blown speaker, a broken turn signal switch and a broken rear strut. I spoke with Brian Dreggors whom is the general manager of Motorsports unlimited and stated that he would make things right with me. On August 24th 2019 while I was driving on the interstate to work the steering in this vehicle went out and I was almost hit by a semi head on. I was however, able to stop at a gas station and get out of the vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle I found there to be power steering fluid under the vehicle and I could visibly see it leaking from under the car. The car had lost its power steering and is 100 percent inoperable. After several calls to Motorsports Unlimited and talking to Brian Dreggors nothing has been resolved. Brian Dreggors did say that he was sending me some parts and a check for 500 dollars. However this was said to have been sent over two weeks ago. I still do not have a title for this vehicle or a vehicle to drive after spending over 6,000 dollars on this car after shipping costs. read more

The purchase went well but the service department is totally unreliable. They say they will call you but never do. I made an appointment a week in advance to have tho boat picked up to have the bottom painted, An hour before they were to pick it up they called to say they didn't have a trailer and would have to do it the next week. It was supposed to take 4-5 days and It took over 2 weeks. Every time you call there is a different excuse. They never meet their projected dates and always have a different excuse. I don't want to pay for excuses but for service. For what they charge the service should be exceptional but it is not. I will never use Outpost Marine service department again. Paid $30,000 in cash for a 2017 used Starcraft deck boat, 8 months later, no title or reg! Still have not been able to take it out! When it came time to pay they wanted $32,500 and said the salesman that accepted the offer a week prior was no longer with them! They gave us a Bimini with a big gash in it, and the fish finder doesn't work! And yet another new GM! Needless to say we have reported them to the BBB AND we have retained a lawyer! Please,please I ask who would ever give this place anything more then 1star if I could I would give this outpost marine -5 stars, with all this being said, they put up for sale a 2008 Jetski w/158 hrs on it, when I went to look at it it looked really nice but the salesman Tom sathey were wanting on a reverse cable and no worries we ordered it and should be in on Wednesday Jan 2, and you would be good to go, so they seemed like nice people so I paid in full for the ski, but it was never repaired on that date as promised and it went on all last week and lie after lie and excuses after excuses so finally I got so fed that I canceled the change on my credit card, I could say so so much more about these guys but I think I said enough, so buyers beware!!!!!!!! When I bought the boat in April 2019 from these crooks, Braden assured me the Yamaha 150 outboard only had 260 hours. Not even 50 hours of RUNTIME later the lower unit goes out on it- the certified Yamaha mechanic hooked it up to his computer to find it had 1400 hours on it. No wonder they wanted to paint the engine and 'make it right'. So they have new ownership now- still would advise you to stay away. Unbelievably dishonest and crooked RIGHT TO MY FACE. I bought a consignment boat from them, even after coordinating a day off to drive from the east coast to test drive. I took a day off of work the following Tuesday and they delivered it to our local boat ramp. Meanwhile they had a $1500 deposit from us to hold it. Upon delivery, it was a 212SD not a 2400SD like it was advertised. Should've stopped right there. So, I signed on it. Climbed up in it and it was filthy. The deck had never even been hosed down and no one had even checked under the seats, which held 3 moldy old ring floats and trash. Never a hint of 'detailing'. Worse part is Braden assured us it had working charged batteries and everything was ready to sail. We drop it in the water, starts, but not a single other thing worked. My whole family waiting on the dock. Needless to say $500 later at my mechanics the gauges worked and new batteries were installed. He sensed it was a hurricane boat that was tossed around in the last hurricane. Didn't get the registration tag or trailer tag for 37 days. Didn't get a $250 refund check for almost 3 months. Business manager offered me a gift certificate for my inconvenience which never came. Offered an outpost Marine Group gift certificate which I declined. Never got a single apology or any type of customer service from them. Never any call. Nobody ever answers the phone or returns calls. Their D- BBB rating is generous and earned. I do not recommend them. At all. Plenty of other places to buy a boat in FL. Sad to have such a sour taste in my mouth over the boat buying experience after trusting I would be a valued and appreciated customer. read more

I bought a boat here and was told it was a left over only used for demo a few times there were several blemishes in the decking and other areas that I told would be fixed. On the first trip out with my boat it didn't start. Thinking it was the batteries, I took a picture of the batteries so when I bought a new battery I could wire it accordingly and this still didn't get it going. Brandon ( sales manager at the time) was nice enough to meet me at the ramp and try to get it going. When he couldn't he took the boat back to outpost to get fixed. I was told the batteries were dead this was a lie because the batteries were wired different when the boat came back. They did reimburse me for the battery. The second trip all the electronics shut off. I was told the main power cable had corroded away. I asked what would cause that they said I didn't flush it good enough I said its 3 weeks old and only been out twice. they said it may have not been flushed by them properly after a demo. The third trip out the seat fell off due to wood rot this made me seriously question the demo only and began to think it was used for a year and sold to me as a left over. I talked to Pete and told him a 50000 dollar boat shouldn't just fall apart and I believe the boat either sank or was heavily used and sold to us as new. He said he has a 300000 dollar boat and it breaks all the time. Pete seemed extremely pretentious and insinuated these kind of problems should be expected but assured me the boat did not sink. Not that I would believe anything out of Petes mouth unless it's confessing to a lie but I digress. The fourth trip out one of the toggles, the radio and the fresh water pump stopped working after bringing it in for service it spent about 3 weeks and so far they have had the boat more this summer than me. Almost everything out of their mouth has been a lie I was told that the decking would be ordered and upon my first service they could install it however here it sits three months later and there is no decking. My friend bought a boat there the same time as me and after the first run the bolts that secure the out board were. Hanging out of the transom. I have pictures of all these. I assume that there reply will be something to the effect of they are rectifying the problem, they can't control Starcraft's quality but I assure you that their BBB D- rating is well earned. Additionally any rebuttal to this can be summed up with I have been making payments on a boat that they have had more than me so it would be hard for me to put the wear seen on this boat when I don't have it to use it. Out of 3 months of ownership it has spend a month and a half there and I have spent 8 hours driving back and forth. There is no attempt to compensate me such as we will pick it up and drop it off. The best I got is they will meet me 1/2 way to pick up and drop off. At this point this boat has traits indicative of heavy use and neglect and I make insurance and boat payments on something I don't have. I would highly recommend NOT buying anything from this company! I wish we would have read their reviews before buying our boat. Apparently, our experience is commonplace with this company. My husband and I purchased a BRAND NEW Starcraft deck boat June 28, 2018. The entire purchasing experience was not a pleasant one. Pete, our salesman, wrote up the initial deal on paper, that's what we took to our lender. When we returned with a check, we were told we needed another $2,200, he had made a mistake! VERY RELUCTANTLY, we came up with the extra money (we were on vacation and wanted to go scalloping). While we were hooking the boat to the truck I looked around the boat.....the table, boat cover, plug, and cooler were all missing (items that come with the boat) We had allotted ourselves time for a walk-through. We were rushed out with no test run whatsoever. The first time we loaded the boat back onto the trailer from the water, it wouldn't fit correctly, we later found out the trailer had not been properly set-up for this boat. Within 3 days of purchase we realized the lights did not work (so far we had only taken it out during daylight hours)July 4th My husband was out in the boat with our 3 young boys when the lights stopped working, it was very dark and dangerous trying to get back to the dock and ramp. The dock light had been stored in the bottom boat storage (laying in water) and had rust on the plug. We returned the boat to Outpost Marine July 5th. They worked on the boat, we were finally able to pick it up 3 weeks later on July 8th. We Took the boat to the river that night, the lights were not working properly at first, then they stopped working completely. No one from Outpost Marine would respond to emails, phone calls or texts. A a matter of fact, they were avoiding us. They would only answer when we called from someone else's phone. My husband scoured the internet to find a contact with Starcraft/Smoker Craft, we explained the situation, he referred us to Victory Marine in Port Orange, Fl. (they have been very helpful) The entire electrical system is now being replaced, and they discovered the depth finder my husband had Outpost Marine install is 7 years old!!! So here we are 3 months, and 3 boat payments later, the summer is over, and we have yet to enjoy our BRAND NEW boat. Outpost Marine is a TERRIBLE company to do business with. read more

They bait and switch. When we sent the quotes back to them they said too bad. I put a deposit down on a used boat on sept 5th of 2018. the only reason I bought a used boat is they were suppose to check out the motor, they did some work on it called and said I could come pick it up I used it once it was leaking oil from the lower unit I brought it back and they fixed it. I used it one more time it was still leaking oil so I brought it back picked it up it did the same thing they were fast to take my money. The place is not run right it took me 2 months to get my registration for the trailer and the boat. The coast guard stopped me at the ramp and said I would not put that in you don't have the decal. I went back and got into a fight with the so called manager Brian. I told him I would call the sheriff and he said don't threaten him. I was calm at first and he said something else stupid whats the big deal 2 months to get the registration what a joke they paid the guy who owned the boat funny they had no loan on the boat. The people who work on them suck,,, that's the only reason I bought from a dealer they were going to check it all out big mistake. The salesman Rob was a good guy he did his job,,, also the hired a new service manager Paul he seemed like he was trying to get the place straight. do yourself a favor don't buy here they don't care once the deal is done. Worst exprience ever. Ordered a new boat 2/13/16 paid 6000.00 down. Told 6-8 weeks. Didnt come in. Gave it a few more weeks. NOTHING. For 6 months NOTHING but lies and promises. Requested money back 10 times even sending a certified letter. Dave told us no problem . It is 7/23/16 still no money. Instead he pulled in a USED boat (I took pictures of beer bottle caps and cup in holder said 5 o clock somewhere)and tried to pass it off as new. Said thats not your boat its under the canopy. Wow same boat cleaned up with seaweed still on trailer and scratches and gashes in the side. BIG problem its still 2 foot shorter and smaller motor. Took pictures again. Liars and thieves. Terrible service , no one ever returns phone calls and if they do they do nothing but lie to you . We bought a boat over 5 months ago and was told the Bimini top ( which was advertised with the boat ) was not with it and they would need to order it however it was on back order until April , at that time that was a two month wait . It's now June and we still have Bimini top , every single person we speak to tells us " it's been ordered it'll be in next week " we've heard this story several times now and today 6/9/18 we were told next week again , I'll be sure to leave an update again next week as to if we get it as promised or not . As If that isn't enough when we went to buy the boat they decided to call Us while we were on our way and tell us "someone else was wanting the boat and they would pay more for it so what would we like to do ?" I get business is business but that's not very professional in my opinion . We thought by going to a dealership we wouldn't have to deal with the " craigslist experience " but we were sadly mistaken .
