Remember Service is just as important as buying the Boat!! We thought we found a great dealership... our sales guy was wonderful... Service on the other hand.... if I could give a Zero, I would. Sun Ray Marine Service had our boat for 6 weeks. We went to check on it and found that our depth finder was smashed against a rail on their trailer, as we chose pick up and delivery. Then when we got out boat back, the seat cover looked like they just ripped it out of snap.They also installed the incorrect underwater lights, even after I told them in an email on a phone call, and on a list which ones we wanted. We have been trying for over a week now that the one of the owners call us to discuss our issues... NO RESPONSE FROM THEM AT ALL! SERVICE AND RESPONSE AFTER BUYING THE BOAT IS TERRIBLE. We recently bought a boat from Sunray and thought we'd found a great dealer. Lots of promises, but not carried out. Called Ken Peterson the salesman to say I pulled a hub off trailer sent pictures that it needed work. He said to bring in and after many calls and weeks of waiting "because they couldn't get axels" and they were replacing wheels and tires too, the trailer was picked up. When I put the boat back on the trailer there were two flat tires. Took trailer to trailer repair and was told I needed axles, tires because the ones on trailer were dry rotted , hubs all the things Sunray was supposed to fix. When I called I was told they never said they were going to fix the trailer. Not true Also when we looked at boat it had a nice steering knob. I wanted it back , but they never called back. I have been dealing with the Largo location, and they have been absolutely amazing. I recently bought my first boat from them and I have been really impressed with the service and integrity of this place. I went and spoke to other dealers during my buying adventure. For the most part, no one was really in the mood to answer questions, or just help me with the basics and tack down what boat I really needed. Until I went to Sunray Largo, and met Michelle. She was absolutely amazing and took the time to explain the different hull types. When I was ready to buy, I gave her (and the other dealers) my criteria and budget. She was the only one who got back to me with exactly what I was asking for. The boat I bought was a 2002 Sea Chaser. After taking it out twice, there were some noticeable problems with the boat; mostly due to the prior owner. Sunray went above and beyond to make it right. Art (services) is probably the only services guy I have met that will say "You don't need that part right now, and here is why." My experience could not get much worse at Sunray Marine. I bought a new "epic 21sc" boat from here in the beginning of summer to make some memories with my family before my kids went to school. I dropped the boat off for its 20 hour oil change on July 15th 2016, it is now October 5th 2016 and I still don't have a boat back and who knows when it'll be when I get one. When I dropped it of to get the oil change and some other minor adjustments, I get a call saying my boat has a small crack in it and it's going to be repaired under warranty. So, I don't here from them for about a month so I have to call them of coarse, and they say that the whole boat now needs to be replaced. I of coarse say ok, and they said it'll be about 3-4 weeks. More time goes by with no call from them, so I call back and they tell me I have to call the manufacturer to get things moving. I finally get a hold of them and they tell me that Sunray never put the order in to have the boat replaced. I asked for a rental, they said no. I asked for them to buy the boat back and I would buy a different boat from them, they said no. So now summer is over and I still don't have a boat, but I still have to pay for a boat. Who knows how long it'll be before I get one. They are not even responding to my messages anymore. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! read more

We recently bought a used boat from Sunray and after taking it out one time I realized something may be wrong. I took it back and asked them to go through the boat once more to which they did. Without going into to much detail, a major problem was found. Knowing this was a used boat and as is condition I was a bit concerned. The owner came back and stated that he would fix it completely at no cost as he felt it was the right thing to do. I can not express how pleased I am with everyone from my sales guy (steve) to the owner (Robert) and the service manager (jeff). Purchased a new deal to 239 on May 10th had it in on July 16th for it's first service went over warranty issues with their service manager it is now Oct 22nd and not one issue had been resolved excuses from every one including the owner would not recommend buying a boat from this dealer read more

The Sunray Marine sales in Holiday and Largo were both great, we dealt with both. The service department in Holiday sucks!! I wish there was a zero star rating. We boat a brand new boat almost a year ago and when we had to take it in for the 20 hour service and a few minor issues they had to have our boat for two weeks and still had to order parts and it had to go back. It took almost 2 months for them to get the parts. They do not schedule appointments which is crazy. There process is you just bring them your boat and they will get to it when they can. It just sits on their lot. When we had to do our 100 hour service we called and they said two weeks. I took it to another boat dealer (who is great!) and they had it serviced in one day. Who wants to give up a brand new boat for 2 weeks. We just took the boat in for warranty work before our year is up. They had it for five days and had not even looked to see what parts they might need to order. My husband had to call one of the owners in Largo to get them to look the boat. Once that happened the next morning I received a call saying they had to order some parts and were able to fix some of the other issues. He had no idea how long it would take to get the parts. My recommendation is that no one ever take there boat to the Holiday service center to have work done. There are other options out there that actually take care of you and will schedule an appointment and not keep your boat for weeks. The Manager of the service center really needs to find another job. He has no idea how to run a service center that deals with customers. read more
