We asked very politely hey can we just give the kids cupcakes and sing a little happy birthday after the play session and the employee checking us in said yes Well, some other guy came in and was angry at life and once we started singing and the birthday boy mid cupcake & the other kids started getting cupcakes he started yelling, literally yelling at my friend and her kid that she can't do that in here! And then he lowered his voice & said we'll finish bc you're already started so she said ok and tried to quickly pass the rest of the mini cupcakes out & dude suddenly flipped his life and started screaming and berating her that she had to stop & said a bunch right now and so all of the kids started crying because they saw the mini cupcakes but now couldn't have one so we all left (some of us mid play session and some at the end) and did cupcakes literally outside in the heat because this lunatic acted that way. My friend was shaking after the ordeal and she frantically apologized because she was scared since a dude much bigger than her got in her face to scream at her and I've noticed the owners like to get picky on semantics when they argue with reviewers so I can't recall his exact wording but his voice and tone were very unfriendly & loud & my child among others were screaming and crying because of him Any other business would've said oh well if our employee told you yes, go ahead and finish but you can't do this next time and then handled it internally quietly and not in front of customers. I worked in customer service & retail for years & couldn't fathom berating paying customers that way. Other than that, nothing remarkable about the place. They mainly have imaginative play boxes so good for very specific type of kids, a large ball pit which was nice and one slide and a wind tunnel but the playroom has a huge wind tunnel and a super nice owner & altitude has a huge foam pit that works just fine and they're under $15 for weekday mornings. Little leaf will get you a fully decorated birthday party no cleanup needed & private for 2 hrs for $650 ish if you're trying to book a party whereas a common complaint on this place is the exorbitant birthday fee for no privacy & they don't even cleanup the party. They do have plenty of parking being in a huge shopping center and they have tons of influencer videos about them online - I can only assume paid? Our son feels more comfortable skating with a Skate Mate and has always been allowed to use one throughout the rink on previous visits. This time, after completing about one lap, an employee told him he could only use it in the small middle section. When we questioned this, we were told this had always been the rule and had always been enforced, which does not match our previous experiences. We could not find this restriction disclosed on their website. In fact, if you look through the photos posted with their Google reviews, the photos we saw show children using Skate Mates on the full rink, exactly as our son had been allowed to do on previous visits. The employees were rude and unhelpful when we tried to address the situation. They were also very reluctant to provide the owner's name, initially providing only his first name, and would not provide any contact information other than directing us to the website. We emailed the owner via the website to request a refund but received no response. For parents considering a birthday party here, keep in mind that based on what we were told, any birthday child or guests who use a Skate Mate will only be able to use the small middle section rather than the full rink. Sparkles in Kennesaw allows children using skate helpers to use the main rink. I wish we had known about this restriction before paying, as we would have gone elsewhere.

His presence and demeanor on the day of our gathering felt noticeably reactive, particularly once it became apparent that our group--comprised of approximately 40 to 50 Black attendees--was utilizing the space. This created an impression that our presence was, in some way, unexpected or unwelcome. Additionally, there was inconsistency and lack of clarity regarding your policies. We were initially informed that external speakers were not permitted. Afterward, we were told we could only utilize the facility's radio system. When we requested a station change to better suit the tone of our private event, the response involved internal deliberation and hesitation. When Shon eventually addressed us, his explanation--though carefully worded--suggested an underlying reluctance to allow what he indirectly referred to as "urban" music. While he attempted to frame this in consideration of "families" and "Christian patrons," the implication was both unnecessary and, frankly, offensive. It is important to emphasize that this was a paid, private event. As such, it is reasonable to expect that the environment would be tailored to the preferences of the hosting party, rather than hypothetical or intermittent walk-in guests. The repeated presence of management circling our group, observing, and intermittently interjecting added to an atmosphere that felt less like hospitality and more like scrutiny. While we remained focused on enjoying the occasion we planned and paid for, the overall experience was undeniably impacted by what felt like biased assumptions and differential treatment. The situation left us feeling uncomfortable and, quite honestly, disrespected. I trust this feedback will be taken seriously and used to reassess how guests--regardless of background--are engaged and accommodated moving forward.

The next day, I spoke with Lee and reserved the space. It was a super easy process and I appreciated that he always responded very quickly if I had any questions. There were plenty of room options to host an event and the cost was very budget friendly. On the day of our event, things were flawless. We had no problem getting access to the room when we arrived on the day of our event and the room was already setup just as I discussed with Lee. The rooms are nice and spacious and the center has recently undergone a renovation so the rooms and bathrooms are updated and look much different than they do on their website. There is plenty of parking nearby and it's pretty easy to find the building. A really good experience and if I ever need a space for an event, I'll be sure to check out the community center first!

I had an unbelievably hostile and unprofessional experience at Center Ice Arena during what was…read moresupposed to be a fun, recreational Adult Learn to Skate class. My friend and I registered to take Adult 3 together. My friend already knows how to skate and was completely willing to be evaluated. Learn to Skate USA's published Adult curriculum specifically states: "Based on prior skating experience, adults may choose to begin at the level that best matches their skill base." When Michelle McIntosh 'Jackie' refused to allow my friend to participate, I pulled up the published policy on my phone and showed it to her. Rather than simply reviewing the policy or evaluating my friend's skating ability, Jackie became increasingly argumentative and hostile and told me, "Wow, you just want to get your way." When I tried to de-escalate the situation and pointed out that this was a recreational adult skating class and really was not that serious, Jackie responded, "It is that serious," and continued making my friend feel extremely uncomfortable. Again, my friend was standing there perfectly willing to be evaluated. During the interaction, Jackie also inexplicably asked me, "Is that your wife?" referring to my friend. The question had absolutely nothing to do with the issue being discussed and, given her demeanor and the context in which it was said, came across as another unnecessary personal remark. Her behavior became hostile enough that I no longer felt comfortable or safe remaining at the facility. Jackie then took my skating card and told me she would refund the $228 I had paid. While we were waiting, I said to my friend, "Wow, what a waste," referring to the time and gas we had wasted driving there. Jackie overheard me, became angry again, and announced that she had changed her mind and would no longer refund me. So at that point, Center Ice had my $228, Jackie had taken my skating card, the class had begun without me, and she was refusing the refund she had just offered because she overheard me express frustration to my friend. I ultimately had to dispute the charge with American Express. Jackie expressly identified herself to me as an owner of Center Ice Arena, which makes the behavior even more concerning. I have since filed a formal complaint with Learn to Skate USA regarding Center Ice's administration of its Adult program and the interaction. There were countless reasonable ways to handle placement in a beginner-level recreational adult skating class. Becoming hostile toward two paying customers was not one of them. Extremely disappointing experience. Very unprofessional.
