Customer service could be better, but overall it wasn't bad at all. The street is right off the exit, so be careful to not pass it. The prices aren't terrible, but could get expensive if you're bringing a family/group. I paid $8 for admission and approximately $4 for skate rental per person (for a 2 hour session). Locker rental is $2. It's cold, so I'd wear gloves if available. Honest tip: it's really dangerous. . . Like you're basically skating on a long razor blade. The pros make it look so easy and grateful, so don't underestimate it.

This place is sort of a hidden gem in Sandy springs. I love ice skating, and before I came here, i always wondered if this place was open to the public. I looked it up on yelp, and lo and behold it was! I went on a Friday, from 7-9pm. The session before this was 4:30-6:30pm. When I got there a little after 7, the place was pretty empty. I came here with a friend, and since we were a little hungry, we ate some snacks. They have snacks such as pretzels, nachos n cheese, and pizza. The prices arent too bad. They range from $2-$5, no tax. This facility has a locker that you can rent, so you can put your bags, keys, and shoes, which was really convenient. Sizes: So usually, when I go to a ice skating rink, the sizes of the skates are one or two sizes smaller than your actual size. It isnt like that here. I wear a 5.5, so I thought maybe in skates id be a 4. Boy, I was wrong. The size 4 fit, but it was a little tight. I thought it would be ok because I thought it would be easier to skate. After about 30-40min of ice skating, i started to form blisters on both feet. Ouchie. Since I was in pain, my friend asked if they had socks, since my socks were a bit thin. They did not have socks. So I changed my skates to a size 5, and continued to skate despite having a popped blister on my foot. -.- Anyway, besides this issue that I had, the center ice arena was a great ice skating rink. In total, i believe there were a little over 20 people in the rink. Tip: when you turn into the parking lot, you have to go straight instead of turning into that first right, because its a one way parking lot. There's a sign, but I saw many cars entering the wrong way. Be careful! I will definitely go back!

This is a great rink! It's the best ice surface in Atlanta, with clean locker rooms and restrooms, and great programs to learn to skate and learn to play hockey for all ages. The owners are great people dedicated to providing Atlanta with a top notch facility.

Nice ice rink just inside 285 on Roswell Road. Ice Skating can be dangerous and you are on your own so be careful. Consider bringing wrist guards, knee pads and maybe even a helmet. I took a group of teenagers here for a pre-arranged group lesson during the public skating time. It's expensive and there is no group discount. I brought 2 groups of 20 and had to paid full price. As several others have mentioned, the customer service is poor. Except for the instructor, the staff was efficient but Not friendly. All business and no smiles. During the week that I brought 40 people here, you would have thought they could have at least said hello or how are you. They handed us our wrist bands then we were on our own to figure out the rest. The ice was freshly zambonied and smooth except for a few deep crevices. The skates were in good shape, which is so important. Our instructor, Tina, was very nice and a great skater. I highly recommend her. She did some amazing twirls for us. We all gave her 10 out of 10. The lesson itself was a little disorganized. I think this was due to the wide variety of our skill levels, there were other skaters on the ice and the music was way too loud. It was hard to hear her. The other skaters respected each other's space except for one guy in hockey skates. I think he thought he was doing time trials for speed skating and buzzed us multiple times. He even knocked one of the kids down. ** TIPS- Wear multiple layers, normal thickness socks and don't forget your mittens! Water freezes at 32 degrees so it's COLD in there.

The rink only has 75 parking spaces, yet they state they can accommodate 1000+ fans for Atlanta Capital games.

My 4 year old son wants to learn to ice skate. Do they have skates this small? And do they have "walkers" to take on the ice to help them balance?

They have skates small enough, but if you're going to sign up for classes on the weekends and go regularly I'd recommend buying some skates. They do not have or allow any "walkers" on the ice.

When you walk past the front desk you go down a long hallway and it looks like they have several fitness rooms and a gymnasium (there were people playing basketball in there when we walked past). The Zumba class we took was with instructor Tash. She literally screamed at us and all the students / participants throughout the class, and came within 2 feet of me to scream (and I mean triple SCREAM) at me to get my legs up. This was inappropriate and made me extremely uncomfortable. Tash asked when I entered the room if this was my first Zumba class. Despite me telling her yes, there was no instruction nor a speed a first timer could even begin to keep up with. Not sure why the question was asked in the first place. The gym overall looked clean enough, and spacious. There were at least 15 people in this particular class on a Saturday, and there was plenty of room for all of us (if any more had joined, it would have felt crowded).

She was nice enough, extremely knowledgeable, and had a contagious can-do positive personality. We were sold on this and the size and cleanliness of the facilities. Unfortunately, she is not the one teaching the classes. Teenagers/very young adults teach the classes and they are sweet but lack the experience it takes to work with toddlers and young kids. Motivation was lacking. Parents did not need to be in the class but in order to get the most of it we and other folks joined in as the coaches weren't attentive and appeared uninterested. We noticed some of the other coaches teaching the older kids were also lacking the excitement we feel a gymnastics coach should have (something akin to a cheerleading coach, full of energy and smiles.)

The pace was perfect and I never felt as though we were moving too fast. There were only 4 people in my Sunday afternoon class which allowed plenty of opportunities for him to walk around and help us individually. We also had opportunities to take little snack/bathroom breaks. The building is shared with the library and since that's closed on Sundays, there was usually ample parking. Sometimes there would be a children's performance in the theater near our studio but it was never really disruptive. Although sometimes, there would be less parking spots near the studio entrance on those days. I genuinely enjoyed taking this class at Spruill! I hope to take more classes here in the future and I even told my friends about it. The classes are reasonably priced for the quality of instruction that they offer, and there may be a few need-based scholarships available on their website. I believe there is a donation-based supply closet available to students who are currently enrolled in art classes, but the closet itself is only open during the week. Overall, I think Spruill is a great place hone any craft and I would love to take more classes in the future.
