I really enjoy this facility. I was an occasional visitor for 5 years taking basic skating classes and now that I go more often I've noticed the crowd has grown much larger. Possibly due to The Cooler in Alpharetta getting converted into a Pickleball Court. Anyhow, go on Tuesday's if you're looking for a smaller crowd and want to practice your technique. Never had an issue finding parking although it does get nearly full during the weekend. The music is pretty good. I miss when they used to be open on Wednesday nights. I hope they bring that back now that attendance has grown. read more

Initially, I played in a league game at this rink and on the way out was told I was going to "be killed" in the parking lot (after the same player put me in a choke hold and yanked me down to the ice because I skated past him). We had family and kids with us so a member of our party (not me), called the police. The police showed up and offered to arrest the other individual, but we said we didn't want to ruin somebody's life over a hockey game even though they were acting the way they were. We walked out to the car to leave and just said we wanted the cops there for safety. Cops wrote a report and that was it. Around 15 months later, I arrived with some friends to watch a family members game. We were walking to the stands, making no contact with anyone and we have always had great experiences with this rink until this time. The owner approached us and started yelling/threatening us in the lobby for supposed "1 star reviews" left on their google page saying the rink was unsafe (ironically). Even though we were saying we had no reviews on them, the owner continued to threaten and ask us to leave / called the cops even though we started to leave as it was not worth it. I tried to work things out like an adult by offering to talk to the owner or discuss things and see why my family was being targeted for no reason (he told me "if he he found out the reviews were mine or one of my family members, our family would "have f'ing problems"). The AAHL league that plays here also handled the initial instance inappropriately as per the usual. Even if we did have a 1 star review on their page, which we did not, it is not an appropriate way to handle or run a business and threaten / ban customers from the premise for something they didn't do, or something someone else did. (The ones who threatened to kill others in the lobby are still allowed in the rink.) Doing the right thing is a rarity now. read more

My daughter was scheduled to attend a summer camp "learn to skate" but due to unforeseen circumstances would not be able to attend. I emailed as soon as I knew and had a replacement camper ready to take our spot. I was told no replacement due to not having a waiver for the new camper (I had not even turned in my daughters medical waiver form so ridiculous reason). Then was told no refund in any amount and that in 9 years they had never had this occur. They did continue to ramble about losing business to other area ice arenas and so on. This was a summer "learn to skate" camp not some type of skating commitment for a team or individual sport team which they referenced the camps bring in customers for various ice sports. Well they not only lost our family but they also lost the chance for a new customer with the family we were wanting to transfer our camp experience over to. Summary-do not sign up for Center Ice summer camps unless you do not plan to have a conflict come up! They will keep your money and sign up someone from there self-proclaimed extensive wait-list and get 2 payments for 1 camper spot. read more

Very unpleasant experience here. The owner yelling at customers in the lobby makes the kids uncomfortable. It is worth it to drive a little further to the rinks in Duluth or Marietta to avoid this. The public skates at these other rinks are also less crowded. read more

Super fun! $15 for admission ($10) + rentals ($5) on Saturdays 8:30-10 pm. It was safe, clean, and well-managed. The skates were a bit beat up. It was crowded but not so much that you can't have a good time. Parking was limited in their lot, but there is street parking and a shopping complex across the street. Visited this rink for the first time today after a friend invited me to their hockey clinic, which they provide every Wednesday at 7pm for $15. They provided chest pads, shin guards, skates, sticks, and gloves ! The arena was probably the cleanest ice rink I've been to here in Georgia and super spacious. The inside viewing area was heated and they had a second floor viewing area as well. Loved the ice and the vibe here, it felt really homey. The clinic was challenging (first time in hockey skates and gear) and the drills weren't as beginner level as I thought -- but I had a great time and most of the people seemed supportive. Haha. I definitely think it would've gone better if I had gear that fit me better but not sure if I want to invest like that yet. If you do try a hockey clinic and know someone who is similar size as you- I'd def recommend borrowing from them, if able!! I think I'm up for this challenge and going back ! read more

Coming here for the first time made me question why I've been overpaying for all these pop-up skating rinks around Atlanta that cost $20+ per person for a rink that's 1/3 the size of what's available here. Nothing beats date night for 2 with skate rental for $30. Had a blast and plan to come back again. read more

Customer service could be better, but overall it wasn't bad at all. The street is right off the exit, so be careful to not pass it. The prices aren't terrible, but could get expensive if you're bringing a family/group. I paid $8 for admission and approximately $4 for skate rental per person (for a 2 hour session). Locker rental is $2. It's cold, so I'd wear gloves if available. Honest tip: it's really dangerous. . . Like you're basically skating on a long razor blade. The pros make it look so easy and grateful, so don't underestimate it. read more

This place is sort of a hidden gem in Sandy springs. I love ice skating, and before I came here, i always wondered if this place was open to the public. I looked it up on yelp, and lo and behold it was! I went on a Friday, from 7-9pm. The session before this was 4:30-6:30pm. When I got there a little after 7, the place was pretty empty. I came here with a friend, and since we were a little hungry, we ate some snacks. They have snacks such as pretzels, nachos n cheese, and pizza. The prices arent too bad. They range from $2-$5, no tax. This facility has a locker that you can rent, so you can put your bags, keys, and shoes, which was really convenient. Sizes: So usually, when I go to a ice skating rink, the sizes of the skates are one or two sizes smaller than your actual size. It isnt like that here. I wear a 5.5, so I thought maybe in skates id be a 4. Boy, I was wrong. The size 4 fit, but it was a little tight. I thought it would be ok because I thought it would be easier to skate. After about 30-40min of ice skating, i started to form blisters on both feet. Ouchie. Since I was in pain, my friend asked if they had socks, since my socks were a bit thin. They did not have socks. So I changed my skates to a size 5, and continued to skate despite having a popped blister on my foot. -.- Anyway, besides this issue that I had, the center ice arena was a great ice skating rink. In total, i believe there were a little over 20 people in the rink. Tip: when you turn into the parking lot, you have to go straight instead of turning into that first right, because its a one way parking lot. Nice ice rink just inside 285 on Roswell Road. Ice Skating can be dangerous and you are on your own so be careful. Consider bringing wrist guards, knee pads and maybe even a helmet. I took a group of teenagers here for a pre-arranged group lesson during the public skating time. It's expensive and there is no group discount. I brought 2 groups of 20 and had to paid full price. As several others have mentioned, the customer service is poor. Except for the instructor, the staff was efficient but Not friendly. All business and no smiles. During the week that I brought 40 people here, you would have thought they could have at least said hello or how are you. They handed us our wrist bands then we were on our own to figure out the rest. The ice was freshly zambonied and smooth except for a few deep crevices. The skates were in good shape, which is so important. Our instructor, Tina, was very nice and a great skater. I highly recommend her. She did some amazing twirls for us. We all gave her 10 out of 10. The lesson itself was a little disorganized. I think this was due to the wide variety of our skill levels, there were other skaters on the ice and the music was way too loud. It was hard to hear her. The other skaters respected each other's space except for one guy in hockey skates. I think he thought he was doing time trials for speed skating and buzzed us multiple times. He even knocked one of the kids down. ** TIPS- Wear multiple layers, normal thickness socks and don't forget your mittens! Water freezes at 32 degrees so it's COLD in there. read more

Facility was great and clean, cheap admission price. Would've left a better review if the "manager" hadn't scolded me for doing moves that are too "dangerous" when literally there were other people doing more "dangerous" moves and there were all these reckless teenage boys crashing into people and running around in their hockey blades thinking they were cool. This was my first time here and no one told me before I got on the ice that I wasn't allowed to do "dangerous" spins. Also over half the people weren't wearing masks when there is a sign clearly posted at the door that says face coverings required. Won't be coming back again :/ read more

The location is kiiiiinda sketch, sure. The facility is right off the Roswell Road exit on 285. We came on a Saturday night for the 8:30 pm skate session. On Saturdays, the 8:30 pm session ends at 10 pm, NOT 10:30 pm, so keep that in mind. For that reason, the cost is $6 versus the typical $8 for a 2-hour session. The rental skates do not come in half sizes. I wear a half size, so I went rounded up to the closest whole size. Even then, I found the skates kind of uncomfortable -- but what skates are? Locker rentals cost $2. You will need your ID to rent one. Quite honestly, you will probably be OK leaving your shoes in the spectator/rest area alongside the rink, but if you feel so inclined, the lockers are available. Roughly two people could share a locker if need be. It was fairly empty for a Saturday night. I'd say at any given time, there was less than 20 people on the rink, which was kind of nice. Ice skating is no fun when it is crowded. When the rink "closed" at 10 pm, the only worker that was on shift at that time immediately got on the Zamboni to smooth out the rink, so we were stuck waiting for him to finish so my husband could get his ID back. Keep that in mind if you want to head home quickly. Really fun, cheap date night idea if you need to get out of your usual "Netflix and snacks" rut! read more

Frank keeps the ice in check, sharpens (BEST), and is so kind to all his customers. Couldn't ask for a nicer bunch. Oh, and did you see how they decorated for the holidays!!! WOW!! The facility is nice but honestly, I would never come back. On open skate session,s hockey players and the general public can do whatever they want. But you're a figure skater you're not allowed to do anything as it might endanger others. While I understand this I've also been skating for over 8 years and know how to watch out for kids. In fac​t, while I was there the only injury that occurred was when a young hockey player was goofing off and tripped another skater who fell with an injury bad enough that she had to leave. I think this is a double standard and very disheartening as this is one of the only rinks in the area. The people in charge also have no idea how to handle injuries which is ridiculous because it's​ an ice rink, injuries happen! Long story short it was a disappointing session and I'll be driving the extra 12 miles to the other closest rink. read more

If you have a party here you can only stay in the party room for 1 hour, then you have to pack your stuff and get out. This is unfortunate if you have kids who plan to skate and play because kids take breaks and need snacks and drinks. So we had to have our party in the very crowded main lobby. It was not clear to me that we only had the room for an hour. And when I tried to offer that feedback to the managers and owner, they had nothing but excuses; next time simply accept the feedback. We had a great time. It's about the same price as regular roller skating. I do remember thinking someone should smooth the ice on the rink. I assumed it was that way before they opened the floor because of the amount of what I called shaved ice. The staff was friendly. It wAs crowded and the lockers were small and $2 is a bit much when you can barely put anything inside. I didn't try the concession but they're always over priced. We actually drove all the way to Sams for pizza combos after. Anyway, great exercise and worth the two hour visit. People are nice and understanding. Not everyone can skate. You get the occasional teen who knows how to be nothing but a jerk but then you see a dad out there with two small children trying his best to teach and/or a young adolescent willing to give you a tip or two because she's been skating for awhile. It's super cold inside. Like you should take a pair of gloves and scarf with a jacket or sweatshirt. I saw teenagers in shorts but they're always the exception and not the rule. Parking is scarce so get there early. Fun place overall. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I skate at least twice a week and talk to a lot of fellow hockey players. We all enjoy Center Ice Arena. Its very clean, locker rooms are big, and the ice is very good, and thats in Georgia weather. In between hockey they have open skates and curling so its always pretty busy. Id highly recommend CIA everytime. read more

I would like to weight in here regarding the young lady and her medical alert dog. I don't know the details however, my girls have been playing hockey there for over 3 years. Really nice rink. Skates are in good condition. It's pretty darn cold in there so be prepared. Ice is in good condition, not super pitted or holes like some rinks. The place isn't bad, that has nothing to do with the review. The staff, particularly are exceptional with customers, and have gone above and beyond to complete their jobs and keep customers satisfied. The owner however, is a poor example of a boss, currently he has a staff member who has received multiple injuries and neglects to accommodate the needs of the injury, and the worker has worked and done his full job without complaint, with a cast. I simply see no care for someone who is responsible for managing his employees accurately. But all customers I have seen here have a great time, and thoroughly enjoy the arena. read more

Very nice facility, very well designed rink, and it is a lot of fun to take your kids when it is unbearably hot outside! A bit pricey, and they need lockers or cubbies for your shoes, but overall a great place. My kids can't wait for the summer camps! read more
