She had her roots done in addition to high lights. The end result was delicious. I stared at her hair for 5 minutes straight and couldn't believe the transformation. It was similar to the hair of people in magazines that you browse through while waiting for your dental appointment. Hair styling is one of those things that you don't appreciate until you have it done. Anyways, my fiancée was satisfied with the end result and I was as well. Not a greeting, not an acknowledgment--nothing. Eventually, I had to walk into the salon myself and ask if anyone could assist me. At that point, I was told that I had arrived 10 minutes late and that my appointment would not be honored. This is simply false. I was physically present in the space the entire time. Instead of taking responsibility for the lack of front-desk staff or checking their own system, they chose to deny reality and blame the client. When I asked to speak directly with the stylist assigned to my appointment, I was told she was already with another client. That raises an obvious question: how did another client get slotted into my time when I was already there waiting? This was clearly an internal scheduling mistake, but rather than owning it, the staff doubled down, lied, and refused to help. I booked this appointment two months in advance, planned my day around it, and it was especially important as it was right before my birthday. Instead, I was dismissed, spoken to condescendingly, and left without any service or accountability. Mistakes happen. What's unacceptable is gaslighting a customer, refusing responsibility, and hiding behind excuses instead of offering a solution or even a basic apology. If you value professionalism, honesty, and respect for your time, think twice before booking here.

I didn't want to drive to Vancouver and so I went on online and found Splash. Nikki did a good job with my hair. She made some slight adjustment to it and she explained to me why before she started. The owner is extremely friendly and professional; their covid protocol is great and he did ask me to leave a few times because they were at capacity and I was just a guest (which I totally don't mind because I respect their adherence to the rules). Watching them interact with us and other customers, you can tell they treat everyone with the same curiosity, respect, and thoroughness. They are great at what they do, friendly, and accommodating. My girlfriend's request was met positively despite it's complexity; I have definitely gone to other salons who tell you they're busy when they don't want to deal with you.
