When I made it just in the nick of time from the airport, Mary greeted me with a hug because she was so excited I made it. I learned so much not only about the ancient sites, but also everything we passed along our bus route. And of course, visiting Newgrange (with guaranteed entrance thanks to Mary's tour) was one of the absolute highlights of the trip to Dublin. Don't think twice -- BOOK WITH MARY!!

Three hours long with a brief stop in the middle for a cup of tea (or a beer). Lots of walking, lots of talking, and lots of Dublin to see. I think that I was quite lucky to have John as the tour guide today as he's got a good history here in Dublin and is even a Trinity College graduate. That was quite helpful as he pointed out the various sites and things to see as we walked around. Dublin Castle, Dubb Linn Garden, the famous Forty Steps, Temple Bar and more. Very nice. My *only* complaint is that the tour group was massive. Usually they break it down into smaller groups of 25 or 30. We had 50 at the start. That's too many.

Out of my 5 Irish tours, this was by far my favorite. This is the perfect little trip just outside Dublin. Be prepared to have the group split up between horseback riding, hiking, and another short activity. We participated in horseback through Killigar Stables and had a great time. We made a lunch stop in a little town at Poppy's Country Kitchen.

Horses were perfect. Stable provides helmets and boots. (Those horrible ballistic riding vests are NOT required--thankfully). You are in Ireland so be prepared to ride in an English saddle and direct rein your horse (no western style neck reining). Notify tour if you prefer walk/trot or wish to belong to a canter group. While I'm capable of a gallop, I preferred choosing a leisurely walk/trot. Non riders are taken to other activities while we rode. We joined up again for lunch, which we chose to eat at Poppy's cafe and sit outside in the beautiful courtyard. Bring cash (Euros) if possible for these small businesses although they happily accept cards as well. Then the tour resumed through the Wicklow hills/mountains, stopping several times including a stop at Guiness Lake. Driver/guide was excellent!! (Tip: make sure to get all restrooming done before the drive begins as I don't recall places to stop en route) Lovely van tour ending at Glendalough where there is a place for refreshments, toilets, a bit of shopping. Also there's time to walk through the monastery ruins and walk to the lake, which is stunning. Price is reasonable for all that is included. We were returned to Dublin timely. Overall, a great experience, especially for horseback riders as these horses are not the "nose to tail" lethargic horses so often found in the US. very enjoyable day!

We took the Irish Highlights tour and we were very pleased. It showed us an excellent summary of Ireland and the some of the most popular sites. Our tour director, Liam Hogan, was the best, and with him we got 5 star service. The hotels were very comfortable and accommodating and the food was very good. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because when my friend called the customer service number, she sometimes got rude associates, and they gave her some incorrect information. The cost of the tour was less than I've paid for others, so I thought the value was very good.

The tour guides walk you through the viking town of Dyflin, where you walk through very narrow streets, which make you feel like you are really living in viking times. To start, I booked my tour via Expedia which ended up costing just over $25 for a single ticket. I ended up taking an Uber to the dock from my hotel in city center which set me back about 30 EUR (but you can easily take the train to Howth for much less $$$). Howth is an incredibly charming seaside town with tons of shops and eateries too, so I made sure to grab lunch after my tour as well. Tours tend to fill up very quickly in the summer, but I guess not many others were willing to brave the November cold with me. I ended up with the entire boat to myself along with Brian my tour guide/captain, which was such a unique and incredible experience. Don't let the cold dissuade you! Brian is extremely knowledgeable on the history of the surrounding areas and wildlife which I really appreciated. He stopped to give me fun facts and tidbits throughout the tour, which was just over 40 minutes. If you are traveling in the more wintery months like me, definitely don't hesitate to book your tour, just bundle up (and maybe take a Dramamine if you get seasick). I was able to take in the most amazing views and snap some great photos. It was truly one of the highlights of my time in Dublin. Would HIGHLY recommend. 10/10 experience!
