What we witnessed during that tour was extremely concerning, and I feel it's important to share. We were observing the 1-2 year old classroom through the window while our tour guide, Amber, explained how each room has cameras, two staff members at all times, and rovers who assist during breaks. During this explanation, I noticed a staff member named Kiara open the door to the 2 year old classroom while using the staff phone, looking down the hallway, and then closing the door again. Since our child will soon be moving into the 2 year old room, I asked if we could observe that classroom as well. As we looked in, I saw Kiara interacting with a little girl wearing an apron. I couldn't see exactly what she was doing, but I did see her pick the child up by her arms, not under the armpits. It looked uncomfortable enough that I asked Amber, "How do you pick up the children here?" She answered, "Under the armpits." Right as she said that, Kiara placed the same little girl into a chair at a table. The child was upset and resisting having her apron removed. Kiara then tried to push the chair toward the table. The child pushed back. Kiara forcefully pushed the chair again -- multiple times -- and at one point pushed her all the way into the table. The child pushed herself back out again, still upset, and Kiara walked away. Moments later, Kiara approached a little boy. Again, she picked him up by the arms. This time, when she set him down, he immediately began crying and holding his arm like he was hurt. My wife saw it, I saw it, and Amber saw it. I told Amber she needed to intervene and get Kiara away from that child immediately. She looked unsure of what to do. I insisted. She went inside and used the staff phone to call someone, but Kiara remained in the classroom for another three to four minutes next to the boy. During that time, two other staff members stepped out of nearby classrooms -- not because of the incident, but to discuss something unrelated. I told them what was happening, and they also looked unsure of how to respond. One appeared to be a rover. When Kiara finally left the classroom, I told Amber they needed to check the little boy's arm and possibly take pictures. When the coordinator arrived five minutes after Amber got off the classroom phone, they had the boy outside the classroom and were looking at his arm. I pointed out a red mark. Amber said he had eczema. The coordinator reminded us they cannot disclose information about any child, which is true, but the lack of urgency from the staff was alarming. As we were leaving, the coordinator said, "I guess you guys don't want to finish the tour then?" I told her the tour was over. My wife remained polite as we walked out, but I was upset -- not just by what we saw, but by how casually the staff responded. There was no urgency, no immediate concern for the child's safety, and no clear understanding of how to handle the situation. All of this happened while we were on a tour with our own 19 month old child. What was even more concerning is that after witnessing all of this, the coordinator never followed up with a phone call to ask what happened or to clarify the situation. Not even a simple check in. For an incident involving a child potentially being hurt, the complete lack of follow up speaks volumes about how seriously they take these matters Parents deserve to know that their children are being handled safely, gently, and professionally. We absolutely LOVE his teachers, Ms. Hailey and Ms. Storm, and the way they love on my little guy. They pay attention to the little things and it's a blessing to not have to sit at work and worry if your kid is in good hands. My son started here when he was 13 months and then we moved to the Kid Ranch's San Marcos location when he was 18 months. I love how clean they keep the building and the classrooms, how they pray with my child before meals, the artwork they do each day and best of all the app they use to keep us parents in the communication loop. It makes my day to get a picture of my son over the app during my work day, watching him play during splash days. The teachers here are happy and strong role models for the kids. The administrative staff is always available for questions from me and my husband, both at drop off and pick up. We're going to deeply miss the Kyle location as we move to San Marcos but we're confident that whatever the future holds for Kid Ranch in Kyle, it will be a good one.

Worst part was that the directing assistant only told the parent about this in passing. The child should have been removed from the daycare but when the director herself was addressing the notion of this child being removed from the daycare, I was told that she would have no where to go. While the gentle, loving gesture of not removing the child was a nice sentiment, a child keeping another child from breathing is DANGEROUS. THE CLASSMATE WAS NOT BREATHING. The problem was not addressed appropriately and that is why I would not suggest this daycare to anyone

I have seen some of the negative reviews and serious allegations posted by former parents. I encourage you to do your own research, ask questions, and visit the school before drawing conclusions. In our experience, La Casa was a caring, community-centered environment that valued communication, partnership, and accountability among families and educators.

You don't have a voice as a parent. If you dare communicate something to the school that your child communicated with you- you will be told well " my staff and i didn't see it; so it didn't happen". Owner utilize fear to gain compliance even in parents. If you dare try different - you're done. Multiple sexual abuse/ aggravation accusations/ allegations made. STEER CLEAR. If you try to ask for funds that you paid; cops will be called on you and the location will be made a criminal trespassing ground. The owner claims she been working with kids for 30 years and she knows best but advise you to spank your kids. Scientifically proven that hitting your kids have long lasting effects. She is an older person, that acts like a child but demand respect from all. She only sees things her way and no other way. You're wrong if you disagree with her, your wrong if she feels threatened. You're wrong if you breath wrong. The co owners. God bless his heart. He is a good man and seems to care for the kids. Workers are great- they are all scared to speak their mind and will blindly agree to anything she says to avoid being in trouble. Now i am a single mother of twins. No where in this encounter was i perfect. I've had my flaws but communicating what my kids said to me- is not one of them.

Knowing exactly what my child would be doing throughout the day put my mind at ease. What they do here WORKS. Their strict guidelines had my son potty trained in one weekend before he turned three. They show these children love, and respect. My son loves going to their preschool class. What he's learning amazes me every day. From sign language, to Spanish - things I wouldn't even think to be teaching him he comes home boasting with pride on what he learned. We couldn't be happier with decision to send our son here.

You can check on your kid via phone application which comes super handy, and it is always great to see them smiling. Healthy breakfasts and healthy lunches are provided each day, along with snacks in between. They have a nice playground that the kids love playing on when it is nice outside. Along with the day-to-day activities, they are always doing special things like his first day was a reptile show :) Wednesdays are splash days. Pick-up/Drop-Off is extremely easy I never waited more than a minute. My daughter was at another daycare for two years that we loved! No issues and no incident reports. The 7 months she was at Stepping Stone were awful. Coming home with massive bruises from bites that staff did not notice. I repeatedly emailed but she kept being bitten by multiple children. We kept waiting for Children's Lighthouse to finish being built but it was hard as an educator who provides other people's children with a safe learning environment not to have a safe place to send my toddler. The last straw was her reporting to us a teacher hit her. Pulled her immediately. Ms. Brittany did not seem surprised when we told her of our concern.

My son is now 5 years years old and attended LIS for over a year (age 3 1/2 to 4/12) after being diagnosed with a developmental delay at 16 months old and was recently officially diagnosed with mild autism (which I knew from the beginning). We had tried a normal preschool/daycare center before (at age 2 until about 3/12) but eventually it just didn't work out for us because he was not able to be potty trained on the timeline of his peers nor was he able to stay still and attentive in a typical setting and needed too much 1on1 attention, despite being extremely intelligent and hyperlexic. I found out about LIS from a good mama friend whose children went to the regular preschool at Bethany Lutheran. I was anxious and not knowing where my child would fit in at the time. Teresa, the director and also an occupational therapist, made us feel comfortable right away and she impressed me with her knowledge about special kiddos like my son. I love that the school has specially trained staff in speech and OT and who are all extremely understanding and have experience dealing with special needs children and also are so loving and kind. The student to teacher ratio is lower than the standard and each kid gets so much special attention and help in so many different areas. My son absolutely loved attending Let it Shine and has made amazing progress during his time attending this school! This in addition to his regular speech and OT therapy sessions made such a difference and now he is prepared for regular school. He was the happiest I ever saw him. His teachers/teachers assistants are wonderful people who we will never forget and never begin to thank enough. Ashley, Rebecca, Robin, Leo, Kelly, Dolly, A'LESA, ALYSSA, and of course Teresa. You are all angels on earth. We moved up north to Cedar Park so we eventually had to change schools after I commuted over an hour each day for a month (that's how awesome this school is!) My first son started around 14 months and went all the way through the pre-k class which really helped him be prepared for Kindergarten. My youngest son started at 5 months old and I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Diane and Ms. Karen. They are both the sweetest people and you can tell they love the children they take care of. Dropping your child off at daycare can be scary at any age but when they are so little it's even harder. You just have to hope you can trust the people taking care of them. Diane and Karen went above and beyond in that manner. So much so that my son would often reach for them at drop off and even when I came to pick him up he'd reach back for them. They are the best!
