Our family loves Your Growing Child! When we were expecting our first child, we looked all over South Austin, and in Hays County to find the daycare that we best fit our family. We chose Your Growing Child over all the other places because the staff was super friendly, they encourage the children to learn new skills and still give them free play. They also allow parents to drop in to see their children and give the parents camera access to check on their children. Other daycares we explored did not give the parents this much visibility. Your Growing Child also has many family activities, such as Thanksgiving celebration and Trunk or Treat. We have been creating so many family memories through this daycare. Finally, the staff truly cares for the children. They take such interest in the children and love getting to know the parents. I have a complete peace of mind sending my child here and it has been a pleasure seeing my toddler flourish at Your Growing Child. We will also be sending our twins here too after maternity leave. My kids have gone to YGC for more than 2 years and I can't say enough great things about this school. The teachers live in the community and truly care for the kids that attend their school. I cant recommend this daycare enough. My child has been here since she was three months old and she is now 2 and unfortunately we are moving away from the area. I'll start with some basics: this daycare is always clean, which is amazing considering its a building full of kids. Nothing looks grimy and nothing smells like pee. Multiple times at the end of the day I have personally witnessed the staff wiping all of the surfaces down and helping my kid wash her hands. The cost of all meals is included in the tuition which includes breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. One less thing to think about as a parent. My kid is always happy when I pick her up. Her teachers know her along with everyone else at the facility, and she loves them. She is frequently jabbering about her teacher Kat, and she always gets excited when I mention we are going to see miss Kat on the way to school. They spend quality time with each student and they are like family to my kid at this point. Everyone knows your kid. It puts my mind at ease when I see my kids run away from me to hug her teacher at drop off. They have cameras in the facility for the parents to view live at anytime, which is an extra layer of accountability which by the way MOST schools don't have or give access to the parents. The app is fun too! I love getting pics of my kid throughout the day. Finally, the price may be higher than some other schools, but the class size is not ginormous either. I don't know about you, but I would rather have my kid in a safe place where she is loved, happy, and getting individualized attention. read more

I have had two children attend this daycare from infant care all the way to pre-k. I can't say enough good things about the people there. The owner and her team have been consistently caring, hard working and accommodating the entire time. The turnover is extremely low which is a testament to the level of time and care the people who run it put in. My oldest no longer goes but jumps at the chance to visit because of all his good memories and my younger opts for more time there whenever given other options. YGC will persist as a VERY positive life experience for both of them for the rest of their lives and that is the most important thing to us. read more

I stand by my original post and will also say that it is not at all retaliatory and only the truth based on our experience. We have photo and video evidence proving we were lied to about our child so please make sure you pay attention and ask questions. However, I will say that if you ask questions, you may be asked to leave. The director does not like questions...makes sense because she can't answer most of them or will make something up. I've also worked in the food industry for 20 years and can absolutely tell you the type of food and nutritional value is poor at best. Check other daycares in the area. They are less costly and the food is far better. They also have way better accommodations in terms of outdoor activities, learning materials, and most importantly, educated & qualified staff. read more

Our daughter is in the infant room and has absolutely thrived. As a first time mom I was a nervous wreck about sending my child to daycare, but Mrs. Tammy and her team have been a blessing. They truly care about all of the babies in their class. At drop off our daughter gives Mrs. Tammy a big hug and is always excited to see her friends. At our initial visit, it was visible how happy the kids were in multiple different classes. The office has been in constant communication around any concerns when our child has felt unwell, and are quick to alert us if anything comes up. We are so grateful that YGC is where we decided to send our child. read more

10/10 don't recommend for childcare. The director is the main concern. She isn't aware of what is going on in the classrooms, yet if there are any issues/questions, we are supposed to go directly to admin or to the director, not the teachers- makes for very poor communication and knowledge about what is going on with your child. The owner/director is condescending, talks in circles, can't answer questions about curriculum, and doesn't address questions at hand. Heaven forbid you have a simple question about the care your child is receiving, but she makes you fearful of asking anything, because you "won't be a good fit" for her school and she gets very defensive. Some of the teachers there are wonderful. Some are far from being called a "teacher." We have picked up our child from a full day there with very full diapers, poopy diapers, and often times a very red bottom. The school food is mostly highly processed, sugary foods. Snacks consist of vanilla wafers, cereal bars, goldfish - their fruit is often from a can with a lot of sugar, and there is little to no nutritional value to most of the food that's served to the kids. We gave YGC the benefit of the doubt for way too long. We saw some strange behavior at the school with our child and a non-employee on a few occasions. When we questioned the school about why this stranger was touching our child and having daily contact, we were soon asked to de-enroll from YGC and told we were not a good fit. Very alarming that they let strangers touch the kids at their school and don't even address the issue or stop the behavior. The lack of curriculum in the class our child was in was a big issue as they had very few projects, no weekly plan and there was a deep lack of growth and development for the children. They also charge one of the highest fees of any daycare in Dripping. If they're going to charge a premium, they should offer premium care, food, curriculum, and they certainly do not offer any of those things. Way too many red flags for the care of the kids there and the director. (Also- a few of the good reviews on Yelp are from employees, not from parents.) read more

We could not love YGC more!! We've been bringing both our kids there since they were infants and they are now approaching ages 2 and 4! I feel as though each staff member from the owner to the director, admin, teachers, cook, afternoon helpers etc. all have a genuine interest in my children and treat them with loving kindness and a sweet disposition. I feel good that my kids are learning everything from their abc's to how to treat others respectfully and it makes me feel good to drop them off everyday. Our time at YGC was short, but it was nothing short of amazing. We recently moved to a new daycare that is closer to our home, but our move was in no way a result of our experience here. Our baby was in the infant room and Ms. Tammy, Ms. Bree and Ms. Kat along with all of the floater teachers who took care of our baby were all so amazing and loving. She would have the biggest smile on her face at drop off every day and I know she loved playing with all the other babies and loved her teachers. The constant updates and pictures throughout the day were so great and I could see the happiness on her face radiating through photos. As a first time mom with major anxiety about starting daycare, they truly eased my mind and we all adjusted very quickly and I know it was due to the TLC they provided to not only our baby, but to us as parents. I definitely cried a few times leading up to our last day and after our goodbyes. Thank you so much for everything! read more

Our family absolutely loves Your Growing Child! I started using YGC 18 years ago, and there is no place that has been able to top what Christy and her staff can do! The love and quality of care they provide is second to none. Even moving farther away and having to try other childcare facilities proved to us that there is no comparison to YGC. It is definitely worth our drive! Now my Grandchildren are thriving in this wonderful environment with loving teachers, getting care they not only need, but deserve! The food is made fresh, the entire staff is wonderful, and the facilities are clean and safe. I also love that they have the Watch Me Grow app which allows Parents to view your children during the day via a live stream. Open communication with all staff is always encouraged. Regardless if your child needs infant care, after school, summer camp, or the best Pre-K teacher ever (Ms. Bullock), they are in the best hands! read more

I fought myself on whether or not to review YGC- it's taken me awhile to come to the conclusion that it's my responsibility and my right to give an honest review. I'll start with the positive- and that's the staff. My daughters loved their teachers and I loved them. I always felt extremely comfortable leaving them. All the TEACHERS were very polite and professional. Now the bad. The management/owner could hands down be the most unprofessional human I've ever encountered. Things happen, mistakes get made, but when you cannot express remorse or try to do better, then I believe you're not acting in my best interest or my child's. My honest opinion is, if you can avoid working with the owner, by all means, take your kids there. However, just know if you ever have an issue or need to work with the owner, expect push back, zero accountability and aggressive behavior. read more

This review is way overdue since our kids have been there for almost five years now, but we can't say enough amazing things about the love, support and guidance we've gotten from all of the teachers, staff and owner along the way. At one point they even called and offered to change their daily menu to accommodate my picky eater and more importantly they gave me the insight that he wasn't eating lunch. Definitely not necessary, but I appreciated that they were caring for him and paying such close attention to his habits and willing to help. We have used this facility since November and we are happy with it. The owner is very involved with the parents, listens and responds to any and all concerns. The manager and staff are very professional all around. We love that there are cameras in all the rooms. We have a couple of small complaints that the school is working to resolve, and we appreciate their responsiveness as they work through those things. I am thankful they offer a nutritious breakfast and lunch, as some day cares provide nothing but graham crackers or cheerios for breakfast. I do wish they did more art work and reading in the Waddlers room/age group, but my kid has a blast regardless and it encourages me to do that sort of thing with him at home. read more

I cannot express how happy we have been at YGC! This place is fantastic. The teachers and staff are wonderful and caring. The Owner/Director is so kind and takes time to ensure she is answering questions and is very involved. We started pre-k here last November after moving to Dripping Springs. The transition was seamless. Our kiddo was so happy and well loved at YGC. She learned so much and was so excited to talk about the things she learned from her teacher. This review is related to the aftercare program at YGC Im absolutely NOT pleased with the aftercare program at YGC. Certain aftercare staff members behave very unprofessionally and come across as uneducated. It seems they have little knowledge of appropriate adolescent management. On one occasion my child was pushed by two different students(caught on video)and teacher was not paying attention to class! One aftercare girl is so immature that she was catty and rude to my child. She decided she did not "like" my child! It seems she is still stuck in high school dynamics. She even rolled her eyes at me when I took my son to her class to find hos book!! Wow! I suggest YGC employers find some new staff. Possibly some adults who can control their emotions when dealing with children. read more

My son has attended YGC since May of 2016. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff are with him! This was his first preschool experience, so during the first few weeks he was shy and sad to see me go. I felt fully comfortable leaving him in the care of these wonderful women and he was quickly fully adjusted. He loves coming to school and especially the playground, which is awesome! I love how the teachers are empowered to bring their own creativity to the classroom so everyday is new and exciting for my child. To be quite honest, I thought this was a great center for children. The times I used this facility for drop-in care the staff was friendly and professional. They worked with the situation I was going through and told me they understood where I was coming from fresh from a car wreck and bouncing back and forth between the hospital and family members home with my 3 year old child. Needless to say, my son hit a rough behavior patch trying to adjust to these sudden, extreme changes. Once Head Start in Stonewall no longer offered their services to my family, I thought Your Growing Child would be a good fit for my son, trying to find some sort of routine. Boy was I wrong. I was told in June to apply for CCMS because the wait list was short and they "would have openings come June". Either this was a lie, or they didn't want my child there... I called several times in June, even stopped by in person twice, never to receive any calls back. I kept calling once a week with no returned calls and still being left with the expectation they had openings, as I was told by whoever was working the phones that day. Well, today, I finally got a hold of somebody who told me they'd rather not have my child there. Thank you, Your Growing Child for giving my child an opportunity to grow! I appreciate being turned away at such a crucial point - after I was led to believe this facility and their program could and would help. Thank you for understanding. I had high expectations for this school based upon my tour last summer but have been very disappointed with the director and lack of management. It is apparent that the main focus is on receiving tuition rather the the welfare of the child/family. One child enrolled had an inconsistent year with 2 different teachers and various subs. I rarely saw the owner/director involved in any school activities. The couple of things that were positive were the in class camera app and the pre-k teacher. I'm mainly turned off by the lack of direction and communication from the front office and director. read more

My children (7yrs and 3 yrs) have been attending YGC since my oldest was 3 and we love it! At this point my children have attended every class level that they offer from infant to the after school and including the Kindergarten program. I really like that they are not just a daycare, but also offer an age-appropriate quality curriculum that has helped my kids learn, grow and thrive! The classrooms are clean and filled with age-appropriate educational material and toys that keep the kids entertained while they are learning. My kids also really enjoy the art projects, water fun Friday's and huge playground! My oldest started the After School Program and Summer Camp this last year and it has been great! The after-school teachers are great with the kids and even help with homework! During Summer Camp they went on, at least, two field trips every week and always had activities planned when they were at YGC. The teachers, staff and the owner (Christy) have been wonderful and have always gone above and beyond to accommodate our family's needs, from breast and bottle feeding, special dietary restrictions to allergy concerns. Did I forget to mention how great they have been helping with potty-training?!? We are so glad that we found YGC! Management is very disrespectful and unprofessional. They are most interested in your monthly payment rather than the well being of the children and what suits the child best. My kid learned very little during their short time at the school and stability regarding constant leadership was very erratic. I would not recommend this place for anyone's childcare. read more
