Really? A 3 year old caused a teacher to leave the profession? What kind of ECD professional says something like that to a parent. And other parents had similar experiences at the time. My son went on to be beloved by the teachers of our next school who supported him to the point where he is recognized as a model student now in elementary school. Ms. T is a bully. Don't let her make you question what you know deep down to be right and wrong. I've noticed that many of the negative reviews have been removed. Not sure if it's an algorithm or what but if you are a new parent considering send you your kid here just know that.

This may be a long review but will be honest for the East location…read more We were with MiCasita East for 3 months before pulling our 2 daughters due to a safety concern. This was a new location and wouldn't recommend going through the growing pains. I am giving 2 stars because I was grateful that they took our daughters in last minute (after Los Amiguitos on MLK unexpectedly delayed when they would be able to start our daughter). The teacher who spoke English and Spanish was let go which was really when I started to notice that they weren't doing much with the kids. It was more of a daycare vibe where teachers just watched the kids and made sure they stayed alive. The only teacher who ever engaged in conversation and did cool activities like had the kids help set up bird feeds. The kids are changed anywhere and everywhere. I didn't agree with this personally because of sanitary purposes and as someone with a childcare background, I believe it's important for children to have a designated bathroom place to make that connection. Especially when it's time to potty train. We had started shortly after they opened. So their playground was still under construction. There was ZERO shade at first. Kids spend 2-3 hours in hot weather. Some days the HI was as high as 103. They quit doing water play for like a month when it started to get hotter. When I brought this up to Jackie, the director, she dismissed me and stated there were no guidelines for weather according to licensing. My daughters wouldn't eat at school because of how much the heat affected them. Mosquitoes and flies are a huge issue here even though they have pest control. This is an issue if you have a child who is more reactive to mosquitoes bites. My daughter would come home with what looked like marbles under her skin from the bites due to her reaction to mosquitoes. My 3.5 year old came home learning more English than Spanish. Most parents here are only English speaking so they place their kids here in hopes they will learn Spanish. It was hard on my older daughter as there were no other children who spoke Spanish. As far as I knew from what I was told, we were the only Spanish speaking household. So if you're of Hispanic background and looking for a Spanish program, this isn't the place. What was our deciding factor? I got a call from them that my youngest daughter had a fever of 102.4. I picked her up within the hour. The HI was 103. When I got there she was outside with the rest of the children in the heat. I brought this up to Jackie, and again she dismissed me and made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. She stated they were short handed and she had went to lunch so she had my daughter go with the rest of the kids and that she had her water bottle. Apparently my daughter's health wasn't more important than a lunch break. Child care licensing states that a child that is sick and sent home needs to be isolated from other children to reduce the chances of an outbreak. So they also broke licensing regulations. My daughter came back positive with COVID. No letter was sent out to the rest of the parents regarding a positive case (especially since they refused to isolate her). This was obviously a concern as it made me wonder what illnesses they were exposing my kids to as well. After that incident is when we pulled our girls shortly after securing another spot elsewhere. I never received an apology for Jackie not being respectful of my daughter's health even though I mentioned this was the reason why. Absolutely no cares given.

The SMS staff and families have been such a huge and wonderful part of our lives for 8 years. It was hard dropping my older son off for the first time (at 3 months), but when it came time to drop my younger son off for the first time (also at 3 months), I knew he was going to be in such great hands, it really was like leaving him with family! I also believe that my older son's smooth transition into kinder was thanks to the 'academic' and social learning he experienced at SMS.

They got us through Covid with an infant, prepared her to thrive in kindergarten. They seamlessly worked with us to help our son with special needs. Her last week was full of tears about leaving her beloved school to move on to elementary. We feel she received a incredibly strong academic foundation from MSE, while also learning a love of nature, a sense of responsibility and mindfulness for others, and a feeling of joy in learning. The classroom is bright and peaceful, and the Montessori materials were engaging and challenging. The teachers at MSE are highly experienced Montessorians who care deeply about the children at the school. The teachers also hold parent education meetings, parent conferences, and an annual open house where the children show the parents the classroom materials. Parent observations during the school day are welcome; we did many over the years. The teachers were always open to our questions and requests to discuss issues relating to our child. We also enjoyed the many opportunities to interact with other parents at the school picnics, weekly park playdates, and monthly Mom's Night Out. We felt very lucky to be a part of the MSE community.

Our oldest has been attending Primrose Shady Hollow for 1 year and our youngest for 4 months. Both…read moreof them have advanced academically and socially since attending there regularly. We have removed him from the school due to the lack of compassion from Jaya to her employees. Shes seems more worried about being in charge then running a solid school. We have emailed her many times about our concerns and they were all quickly dismissed. We emailed her over a week ago that our son would not be retuning and have not received a response about our tuition or deposit. Its a shame as many of the good teachers have since left or been run off but I would avoid the school as long as she is employed.

My kids have been attending CDC South since they were 3 months old. They absolutely love it there…read moreand never want to leave when it's time to go home. The environment is very positive. They really encourage kids to embrace their creativity while also teaching them not only the basic things like counting, colors, etc, but also kindness, compassion and respect for others and for the earth. We are so impressed by the updates we get (the app this school uses updates in real time instead of getting a report at the end of the day like our last place); it has made all the difference in our night routines knowing that she had a tough time taking a nap at 2 instead of figuring it out at home at 630. We also have enjoyed the extras that are at Sunshine Cottage -- huge playgrounds with age appropriate equipment, bikes/trikes to work on motor skills, dress up bins and play areas in the classroom, and (our latest exciting update) a dance class from an outside studio that is sooo affordable!

These folks owner constantly changes staff hours to not pay them the time they work. The children are fed very unhealthy foods, no milk on their menu for over 3 years. The program does not adhere to state standards and is constantly reported and cited. I'd never recommend leaving children here of any age....EVER!
