Wilburton Station is the station on the 2 Line right after Downtown Bellevue Station. It is located…read moreright next to Whole Foods and across the street from Kaiser Permanente. The new Bellevue Connector Bridge also provides walking distance access to shops like Uwajimaya, Best Buy and Home Depot which are nearby. It is one of the least used stations, but I use it somewhat often to get to Whole Foods when I don't want to deal with parking there on a busy day. I can take the train, buy my groceries and hop back on the train afterward. The wait for a train is at most 10 minutes, which is convenient enough. This stop will become more useful when the full 2 Line opens next month.

Parking is difficult so when the light rail 2 Line connects Seattle to the Eastside (sometime in 2025?...it keeps getting delayed...shocker, smh) it'll be easier for Seattleites to access the public art. You can also park for free at the South Bellevue Station/South Bellevue Park & Ride near the I-90/I-405 interchange if you're coming from Seattle or from the Southend. After you park you can take the light rail 2 Line NB up to Wilburton. If you're already on the Eastside and need cultural enrichment then check this out during your free time.

It is above ground, and the tracks are elevated, with escalators and elevators providing easier access. Our family had a chance to visit, parking in one of the 1,500 nearby parking stalls, and taking the 2 line to it's northernmost terminus in downtown Redmond, and back. In the near future, the '2' line will continue to Seattle, eventually going all the way to Lynnwood. Supposedly later in 2025 or in 2026. Similar to the project at Redmond Technology Station, this facility has been upgraded tremendously. This station now has covered waiting areas for westbound buses and the surface level parking lot has been replaced by a large parking garage. This makes taking the bus into downtown Seattle for major sporting events and concerts more convenient. It also offers a faster way to get to a location in Bellevue or Redmond on the 2 Line rather than transferring buses in Downtown Bellevue like before. Also I believe the garage may be used to access the Mercer Slough Nature Park which has an entrance right next to it. Thus making it very convenient to take public transportation to access this park's features which include a blueberry farm. I am glad that the public transportation connectivity in Bellevue is getting better and better with this station as evidence of this.

Selfishly, I love this stop because it's right next to my office, making it the perfect commute. But this stop is much needed as it's in the hub of Bellevue. Just like other stops on the 2 Line, it's easy to find and access. But this stop will get you right next to The Bravern and city hall, and is walking distance to several office buildings, the transit center and Bell Square. Like I said, it's the hub of Bellevue. I've noticed on certain days, the train has more people riding during the middle of the week, with more people working in the office. But it's never crammed and everyone is able to find a seat on the train. I'm happy that the Bellevue Downtown Station is along the 2 Line, which eventually will get you to downtown Seattle. But I'll take what I can get for now, which is either towards the South Bellevue Park and Ride and downtown Redmond. Glad to have this stop in a convenient location, walking distance to many popular spots.

Got a chance to use the new 2 Line light rail station from downtown Bellevue to Redmond technology…read morecenter. The initial segment, East link extension, opened on April '24, and connects the southern part of Bellevue up to Redmond. When completed in 2025, it will extend all the way to downtown Seattle, connecting to the 1 line. This will allow residents on the East side to take the train all the way to downtown Seattle, and continue to SeaTac and the University of Washington. As for the station itself, it is open air (covered) but graded quite a bit below the entrance (Bellevue is quite hilly). There are stairs (64 steps) going down, and only one escalator going up (modern in that it moves very slowly to indicate that it is working, and then speeds up once someone gets on). One thing that is clear is that the ability to scan your Orca card to pay for the trip is not top of mind: there was only one scanner to the side near the entrance and none of the entrances and exits are gated in any way.

You can walk to the Safeway on 140th from here however. It is a street level station, so watch out for trains when crossing the street. There is a surface parking lot for this station across the street which is convenient. I like parking here and taking the train to Wilburton Station to go to Whole Foods. Seems easier to park here than try to find parking spot at Whole Foods when it is busy. Overall, I find this station just okay. It could use a bus connection. There is not a lot here to recommend aside from the commuter parking lot.

There's nothing to complain about here as this neighborhood is well-planned, with accessibility to the 2 Line. You'll definitely want to take advantage of that, given the up and coming development here. Since Spring District is a new neighborhood in Bellevue, with plenty of office buildings, apartment buildings and retail around, including Bellevue's only brewery, Spring District Station is walking distance to all of this and more. It's also one of the few stations that's actually underground with artwork displayed in the tunnel. It's accessible, centrally located, clean and easy to take. Selfishly, it's been super convenient taking the 2 Line from downtown Bellevue when we wanna check out Bellevue Brewery or pick fruit at the free, community garden. I'm a fan.

Uber in Seattle is... well, it's what you use because there aren't really any other options. Taxis?…read morePractically extinct. Hailing one here feels like waiting for a unicorn to trot down Pike Street. So, Uber it is. The service itself is hit-or-miss. Sometimes you get a clean car, a driver who actually knows the city, and a smooth ride. Other times you're stuck on a scenic "Seattle detour" that's just code for "the GPS lost its mind in SoDo." Traffic is brutal no matter what, so don't expect miracles--whether you're in an Uber or your own car, you'll be staring at brake lights. Pricing swings with the mood of the city. Surge pricing during a Mariners game or when it rains (so, basically every other day)? Expect your wallet to feel lighter. But compared to the ghost town of taxis, Uber at least shows up when you need it, which is really the only reason it wins by default. Uber in Seattle isn't glamorous. It's not particularly cheap, and it's not always smooth. But it exists, it functions, and it gets you where you need to go--eventually. And in a city where taxis are a relic of the past, that's about as good as it gets.

However if you need a later return ride after 7pm BEWARE, after Dawit was off work we waited for 2 hours and ended up having to get an Uber after sitting in the freezing cold for a no show. We kept calling but they kept telling us it would be another hour! They should have told us the truth and just said they weren't coming. Nobody available to drive the van I guess??. We'll never know. But only ask for Dawit and find out what time his shift ends before you book it!

Unsafe, scary, and unprofessional drivers. I was berated and verbally abused by a driver who hit my…read morecar making an illegal left turn onto the main road. When I rolled down my window to let him know that he had hit my car and to pull over into the next lot, he yelled at me to "MOVE" and to "GO" and called me a b**ch, among other profanities, denied wrongdoing after I finally got him to pull over, and then proceeded to threaten me when I showed him I had evidence. I made my exit pretty quickly after taking some more pictures and video as I was alone. He cursed at me the whole time. I called Yellow Cab to report the accident and to let the regional manager know that I would be following up with possible legal action as the driver refused to provide me with his information and made threats against me. He tried to gas light me by saying they didn't know the truth as it is a "he said, she said" situation, even though I had photo proof of the car accident and videos of the driver yelling at me. I merely wanted to make sure it was well documented in case this driver had a record of intimidating and abusing women. The manager then said Yellow Cab doesn't claim responsibility for incidents like these since drivers are contractors and they own their own car and buy their own insurance. He unsympathetically offered to give my personal info to the driver (very safe and assuring) and said there was nothing more he could do and hung up on me. I decided the damage, thankfully mostly minimal, wasn't worth getting in contact with a weirdo or being yelled at again. I just wanted to warn you all.
