The new Bellevue Connector Bridge also provides walking distance access to shops like Uwajimaya, Best Buy and Home Depot which are nearby. It is one of the least used stations, but I use it somewhat often to get to Whole Foods when I don't want to deal with parking there on a busy day. I can take the train, buy my groceries and hop back on the train afterward. The wait for a train is at most 10 minutes, which is convenient enough. This stop will become more useful when the full 2 Line opens next month.

Although it doesn't extend to Seattle…read moreor even Redmond Town Center as originally planned as of yet, there is light rail running now in Bellevue, which goes from South Bellevue Park and Ride to Technology Center AKA Microsoft in Redmond. This is called the 2-Line. I took light rail from the Wilburton Station to see what the fuss was all about. The Wilburton Station is well, new, of course, so it's clean, bright, easy to find and navigate and so forth. I walked here from my place as I needed to get to Seattle for work. This particular station is next to The Pumphouse and Whole Foods and when I took this on a Tuesday morning, only one other passenger was waiting from Wilburton. The station has a partly covered area on the deck for waiting, but the best part is the view from here of downtown Bellevue, which is the next stop going west. I only waited for about five minutes for the train and then got off the Downtown Bellevue station, which took less than five minutes. I'm looking forward to taking light rail much more, especially when it finally goes into Seattle.

Unlike the last time I visited this station, the train going west to Mercer Island is now open,…read moremeaning both sides of the tracks are usable. The big advantage of this station is the free parking (except on certain days) provided in the huge parking lot connected to the station. With the '2' line now connected to the '1' line in Seattle, my son-in-law used this stop to park his car and then have us travel to Mercer Island via the train, taking the train going to Lynnwood City Center.

The former South Bellevue Park & Ride has been transformed into South Bellevue Station. This is the…read morecurrent western terminus of the 2 Line until it extends into Seattle in the near future. Supposedly later in 2025 or in 2026. Similar to the project at Redmond Technology Station, this facility has been upgraded tremendously. This station now has covered waiting areas for westbound buses and the surface level parking lot has been replaced by a large parking garage. This makes taking the bus into downtown Seattle for major sporting events and concerts more convenient. It also offers a faster way to get to a location in Bellevue or Redmond on the 2 Line rather than transferring buses in Downtown Bellevue like before. Also I believe the garage may be used to access the Mercer Slough Nature Park which has an entrance right next to it. Thus making it very convenient to take public transportation to access this park's features which include a blueberry farm. I am glad that the public transportation connectivity in Bellevue is getting better and better with this station as evidence of this.

Selfishly, I love this stop because it's right next to my office, making it the perfect commute. But this stop is much needed as it's in the hub of Bellevue. Just like other stops on the 2 Line, it's easy to find and access. But this stop will get you right next to The Bravern and city hall, and is walking distance to several office buildings, the transit center and Bell Square. Like I said, it's the hub of Bellevue. I've noticed on certain days, the train has more people riding during the middle of the week, with more people working in the office. But it's never crammed and everyone is able to find a seat on the train. I'm happy that the Bellevue Downtown Station is along the 2 Line, which eventually will get you to downtown Seattle. But I'll take what I can get for now, which is either towards the South Bellevue Park and Ride and downtown Redmond. Glad to have this stop in a convenient location, walking distance to many popular spots.

There's nothing to complain about here as this neighborhood is well-planned, with accessibility to the 2 Line. You'll definitely want to take advantage of that, given the up and coming development here. Since Spring District is a new neighborhood in Bellevue, with plenty of office buildings, apartment buildings and retail around, including Bellevue's only brewery, Spring District Station is walking distance to all of this and more. It's also one of the few stations that's actually underground with artwork displayed in the tunnel. It's accessible, centrally located, clean and easy to take. Selfishly, it's been super convenient taking the 2 Line from downtown Bellevue when we wanna check out Bellevue Brewery or pick fruit at the free, community garden. I'm a fan.

It opened in 2024 as part of the 2-line grand opening, and can now be an entry point to get to downtown Seattle taking the 2-line. It was the closest rail station to my daughter's condo, making it about a 20 minute brisk walk. Like other stations on the 2-line, the tap-to-pay card readers (able to accept credit cards directly) are discreetly on the side of the entrances, with no space for toll gates, allowing a large number of people to enter/exit at the same time. Unlike the downtown Bellevue station, this one is at-grade meaning there was no need for escalators or elevators. There are lockable bike lockers available for minimal charge. This was the time right before the start of the US-Belgium World Cup match in Seattle, so wasn't too busy with revelers/watchers: they were already at the match or at bars, ready to go.

Hailing one here feels like waiting for a unicorn to trot down Pike Street. So, Uber it is. The service itself is hit-or-miss. Sometimes you get a clean car, a driver who actually knows the city, and a smooth ride. Other times you're stuck on a scenic "Seattle detour" that's just code for "the GPS lost its mind in SoDo." Traffic is brutal no matter what, so don't expect miracles--whether you're in an Uber or your own car, you'll be staring at brake lights. Pricing swings with the mood of the city. Surge pricing during a Mariners game or when it rains (so, basically every other day)? Expect your wallet to feel lighter. But compared to the ghost town of taxis, Uber at least shows up when you need it, which is really the only reason it wins by default. Uber in Seattle isn't glamorous. It's not particularly cheap, and it's not always smooth. But it exists, it functions, and it gets you where you need to go--eventually. This shopping center is where Asian Family Market, along with some high-profile food establishments including 85C, Sun Sui Wah and Supreme Dumplings. There is also an Indian grocery and a bunch of other Asian eateries here. Parking is sufficient most of the time, but many of the parking spaces are slanted and smallish. I do like that most of the rows are one-way only and that there are multiple entrances, which keeps the lots from becoming congested. All in all, it is a well-managed strip mall with many in-demand businesses in Bellevue.
