Aptly named. It's a Convenient and pleasant stop for overnite. Close to interstate is a positive but also a negative as you can hear the traffic. It's not bad though and I'm a light sleeper. It's not one of those keep the kids occupied places which is not a feature I need. It has trees and other greenery and receptionist very friendly and helpful. Office closes at 5 but she takes calls until 10. I called her at 9 pm with a WiFi issue and she promptly took care of it. There is a laundry and a shower which I did not use but count that among important for me features. Hookups were fine and more area between spaces than you get at a lot of places. Built in the 70s (per staff) it is well established with trees. Wonderful little dog areas in front of some of the sites, just for that site. Even shaded. Our dogs loved it & made our 5AM poop trip easy. Showers were clean, water hot, & plenty of it. This is an older park, older building, older playgrounds, so no fancy pool, & don't judge the place just enjoy the friendly staff & great prices. They give veterans discount A big clean laundry room (didn't use) It is close to interstate, so easy pull in then get back on road. Gas station across the street also with a subway. Sites are well taken care of & clean. We didn't really notice the interstate noise, but one of the local military jets few over rocked our world. No cable, but we knew that from the start. I arrived at this location just before sunset and immediately went to take my dog for a walk to relieve themselves from a long day of traveling. The site had dog feces in the area sectioned for a dog and the entire site itself. I noticed as I walked the property how much dog feces was in each lot in many different locations. They DO NOT clean up every night due to what I observed. The tables are very old and dirty with paint peeling. The fenced in dog area was not as I had imagined as it was not well kept and therefore I never used it. There are many tenants who live on site. This RV park is next to a truck stop so it is very noisy. If you stay here see if they are willing to put you further away from the truck stop especially because there is more lighting from that area and noise. Because I had been traveling and was tired I chose to write in my concern to them rather than call personnel after regular hours. I received a response back and they were pretty upset with me for telling them my what I had experienced. I travel often and feel I am being very fair with this review. I will say the bathrooms/showers are the nicest I have seen. If I was a solo traveler this would have been more tolerable. Perhaps see if Loves truck stop on the other side of town is best for you as the sites are very nice or stop in at an alternate RV park that is not next to to two major truck stops. I understand renovations have to occur and I will say that I was warned that the bathrooms and office were under renovation however when you ask me specifically what type of RV is coming and I say one is a tear drop, you might also remember to say there is no port-a-potty either. The only saving grace is that we were next to a large and loud gas station which is not convenient at 4 am. We were offered a refund but it was 8:45 pm, where were we supposed to go??? A bit pricey for no amenities. The host is very responsive but it did not rectify the situation. Also could use some lawn maintenance. read more

Too expensive to be not able to use the laundry room, which was filthy and the washing machines stationed with clothes in them for hours. My husband tried to used the restrooms and the showers, which were not very clean either, but every time he went to use them some kids/teenagers went inside every time he went in there. He ended up not using either for he felt very uncomfortable. Even a mouse got into our Rv. Outrageous! Yeah, they might have dogs areas but I think making people feel comfortable, safe, and getting what we are paying for is more important. Also, it is very noisy! At night the freeway is so loud and planes fly at night over this camp site. We couldn't even sleep! I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more

Passing through visit to Amarillo, TX, KOA RV Park staff was very friendly and accommodating with services. The facilities were clean such bathrooms, dog park, and office. The camp grounds connections worked. Easy access of pull throughs for our RV, RV park provided table. Again, great experience with KOA. read more

We are on our way back from Colorado, and we were leaking some kind of fluid and the rv started filling up with smoke. Super scary with the kids and dogs in back. Anyway, luckily we were close to Amarillo. We pulled into the Big Texan Steak Ranch and had some dinner and started brainstorming what to do. Overnight RV park was super close (Right on the east side at the loop 335 and i40 intersection) so we thought we'd give it a try. They answer their phone late, they were half the cost of the KOA, and the owner met us personally to check us in and help us get situated. She gave us the name of 3 mobile mechanics, one of which said he'd be over first thing in the morning to check it out. The place has great little fenced areas for the pups in the dog sites, and we were even able to let them roam leash free and play ball out on the back of the property, which was great as our pups love to run. They said they will be expanding and adding a pool and rec room In the near future. We will definitely be back. read more

I was looking for somewhere to spend the night in my RV as I was driving in high winds and under a severe thunderstorm warning. I called KOA (im a member) but after that incident (read my review on Yelp for KOA Amarillo) I called the Overnight RV park and spoke to a woman who said she had a pull thru spot with a fenced area for my dogs! She was super and had me call her when i got close and she would meet me at the office. It was less expensive than the KOA and with the price of diesel that made me happy!! The site was perfect, i was able to put my dogs in the fenced area as I set up . It was so much easier than trying to hold onto the two dogs as i set up! I did not use any of the amenities. Its a perfect place for an overnight stay especially if you have dogs! I have this now marked as a favorite on my maps and have made reservations in June to stay overnight again! read more

I was crossing the country, from Nevada to New Jersey, and stopped in Amarillo at the overnight RV park. Immediately my toilet started to overflow into the trailer. It was leaking around the sides at the base and I had no idea what to do. Chanda, the property manager, came over with tools, took out my toilet, unclogged the tank and instructed me on what to do in the future. I was ready to head home, and Chanda saved my trip. Spent the night, traveling east to west on I-40. Called in at last minute and got reservation. Park was around 80 percent full. Lady on phone told me to call in even if after closing if I had any problem. Was very appreciative of my first responder status, as well as AAA or Good Sam. Park was neat and clean, and sites level. It's a simple park but great for overnight, or for temporary workers. I'd give the facilities 3 1/2 stars, cleanliness and order a 4 1/2, and friendliness and helpfulness a 6 on a 5 star scale. . read more

Do not stay at this RV park if you want to sleep. The truck stop next to this park along with low flying planes and multiple trains passing makes this place very noisy. Additionally an other camper left for work leaving their truck blocking the exit road tried to call the office, it was closed and there was no answer when we tried the emergency number for assistance at 9:50 in the morning. Make sure to read the renters contract before u decided to stay here I work on road and for my job sometimes we have to leave with very little notice and I wasn't able to give the Rv park 7 day notice before I had to leave so I know thaw I would lose my deposit and that was fine what I did not know they were gonna charge a additional week that I wasn't even staying there on top of the already excessive price for the lot rent and electricity. I've stayed at a lot of parks and never had this kind of trouble before I absolutely do not recommend this place. read more

Perfect for an overnight stay, especially since we arrived late. Good pull thru sites, didn't need to disconnect our tow vehicle. Very level, just dropped our gear, plug in & lights out. No Wifi here, but we usually bring our own. Didn't use the pool, playground, or laundry (we were only overnight ) & Propane! Bonus* Pilot across the street! I called ahead to pay over the phone to make a reservation, used my Good Sam discount. They have 8 fenced pet sites for those fur babies. Full hookup sites, Most with a tree for shade. Traveling across country we found Overnight RV Park in Amarillo conveniently located jus off I-40. We pulled in, checked in and found our site, then started thinking about food. Seemed like while in cow country we might enjoy a good steak. We're we in luck! Big Texan Steakhouse was just a mile away and provided free limo service from and back to our camp site. All I had to do was ask the young man in the office! So far so good! As for the remaining details, we found the park was peaceful, the tree lined old campground pleasing, and the facilities clean. Basically , it was all good! On our return trip, stopped here again and again found the facilities clean, the staff friendly but immediately had a problem with a neighbor who's dog was off leash and charged me, barking and snapping as I stood in my campsite, until the owner called him off, then said "Don't worry, he's friendly!" If I hadn't been facing the dog it surely would have bit me. This could happen at any RV park, not the park's fault a camper can't follow their rules. The vast majority of dog owners in RV parks are totally considerate and conscientious. But theres always someone that can't be bothered with a leash. And it isn't all that uncommon to have a problem neighbor for one reason or another in an RV park. Just how it is. read more

This is a great place to stay for a night or two, but I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that. The park needs some love....weeds were high, grass and trees had not been trimmed in awhile, lots of things need painting, and the roads are a bit rough. In our site 41, on the way up to Colorado on 5/30/2021, and then site 42 on our way home from Colorado 6/18/2021, we didn't feel it was too loud. Even though the park is next door to a very bright and large new truckstop, it didn't bother us at all. My parents were parked one row closer to the truckstop each time and felt it was waaaaay too bright and noisy for their comfort level. The staff was nice, there's easy in and out access, and the site was large enough for us even though everyone's parked pretty close together. Not the worst place we've ever stayed, and not the best. They need some more groundskeepers for sure. My $43 nightly rate included a Good Sam discount. read more

Probably a 3 & 1/2 star camp ground - but that isn't an option, so we gave it a four instead - mainly because it was the campground's first posting and we wanted to be fair. Nice enough place, older, but clean and well maintained. It appears that many of the residents are long term - still there are many available spots for overnighters or vacationers. The campground has level sites, and after you run it a bit, plenty of hot water in shower. Has reasonably priced laundry facilities and a nice pool. For those with small dogs, several of the sites had fenced "yards," that were exclusive to the site you are assigned - there may have been an extra charge for the fenced yard option, we don't have a dog so we didn't ask. Some trees for shade, and picnic tables at each site. The airport is near, so expect to hear and see low flying planes - still, it wasn't an issue overall. Wonderful park. My wife and I stayed a few nights. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Park clean and nice size dog run. Instead of 5 stars I rate a 3 for 2 reasons Wi-Fi never works. If you have bills to pay or take care of business, your out of luck. BUT thats no just cause for low rating. The 3 Ladies (staff members) really need to work on their people skills. OR take a course in Human Effectiveness. For three days at least once a day my wife and I at separate times had questions about Wi-Fi, BBQ, and even checking in etc. No smiles, grouchy answers, little eye contact and when and if you got an answer they looked at you as if your from another planet and they can't be bothered with your stupid questions. We just stayed 4 nights at their sister RV Prk in Gallup, NM. USA Rv camp and what a difference in people and attitudes. They got 100% of awesomeness. Nice park. Kind of old school with the gravel spaces. Still...it has full hookups and cable TV. As we find in most places, the staff are friendly and helpful. Nice and close to several attractions in Amarillo. And...of course...you're close to the interstate. It's also across the street from a runway. We're counting the rivits on the planes as they fly directly over our trailer. Free entertainment! read more

We are full timers and we were traveling through and decided to stop at "Overnite RV Park". Pulled in and found the staff to be very friendly and organized (after a long day on the road this is always a plus). She put us in a beautiful pull through level site which accommodated our big rig. (43 foot plus 8 foot trailer) I have to say it was really nice we sat on the corner and we had a fence around two sides with small trees and rose bushes. We ended up sitting outside a lot because it gave us privacy but still let us talk to our neighbors when we wanted. We stayed three nights and plan to come back through. It is an older park but they try really hard to keep it nice with all the flowers and plants. read more

Their website is not correct. There is no pool or free WIFI. Very close to the freeway. Too noisy to sit outside. Also close to the international airport. Right under the flight path. If you book for a week stay, and pay for just that week, they charge the weekly rate, they also add a $50 deposit. READ THE SMALL PRINT when you sign, because if you do not then give WRITTEN notice 2 days before your SCHEDULED departure they will keep this deposit and charge you for electricity. I don't want anyone else to get caught. We verbally discussed our departure date with them during the week, at no time did they speak of this policy to give written notice. There is no other RV Park or Hotel that requires you to give written notice when you've booked for just a week. Very unusual practice that they have in place to intentionally gouge us. The place needs a lot of attention, very run down. Laundry, bathrooms, office are filthy, run by cats, and stink of cat waste. A few hundred feet away is large 24 hour truck stop, constant rumbling all day and night. We will not be back, not even for 1 night. read more

We spend two or three weeks in Amarillo every year and wouldn't even consider any other park. The sites offer easy ingress/egress and full hookups. The staff is simply the friendliest you will find. The parks location on the Eastern edge of town allows easy access to the town while offering a peaceful environment. Others have mentioned the airplanes, but you really don't notice them especially after dark. read more

The park was clean but over grown. There is not a pool it was filled in with dirt. The play ground is old rusty and dangerous. The pictures are very misleading. The staff does not go out of their way to help you. The office closes early and if you have any problems you are on your own. read more
