***BEWARE*** Went there for lunch. Ordered and paid. While waiting for my order I decided to take a walk down by the water. As I was walking a young woman with dark hair came running out of the restaurant screaming at me that I couldn't park there. I told her I ordered lunch and was in fact a paying customer. She immediately walked back into the restaurant and hid in the back of it. I always got the fried clam strips and french fries with plenty of ketchup, sitting right on the water, as the crows and gulls circle around hoping for a bonus fry or dropped ice cream cone. It's one of those places that creates a memory. Here I was, today, ordering the 2 piece fried cod and onion rings. Sat on the dock as the crows and gulls circled and cried. The onion rings were big, crispy, and hot out of the oil. The fish was decent enough but it seemed to be the tail end of the fillet instead of the top of the fillet where the bigger flakes of fish are. The ends were a bit too crispy for me. The coleslaw was fresh, crispy, and generously peppered. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I think I'll go with a lobster roll next time. read more

Parking next to or across the street from the store is a bear. Try walking from the Veterans Park parking lot just a block away and then walk across to the park benches at the Mill Pond. Out of the many places ive eaten, ive never been told to give a good review before, let alone threatened. The food is so highly priced I could've gone down the road for the same experience but less. They change prices as they see fit it seems. Im waiting for health inspection to go in there and rip it apart for how grimy it is. The service for ordering food was so mishandled and the girls at the window were very sloppy, and very loud. We can hear you talking inside- outside the window! Everyone was rude and in a rush. Let's not mention that those white trays they hand out are what they use to prep the food apparently? I know someone who previously worked there that said it is the most unsanitary environment they had ever been in, Nothing is sterilized, nothing is wiped down except for outside and they reuse our trays as long as we dont throw them out. That alone is a health hazard. The people who run this apparently also own three other restaurants which makes this ironic that this is the most unsanitary shittiest one. Employs a bunch of 16 year olds, food takes forever and they always mess up orders. Overall, if I could 0 out of ten stars. Avoid getting sick and avoid overtons. Also, I saw a rat as I was eating on the back deck- needless to say im calling the board of health and will not be eating there again. read more

That said we made our first trip to Overtons this season on Wednesday May 18th. We ordered 2 lobster rolls and the were disappointing. This place is a Norwalk Staple! I have never come here and not had friendly service. Overtons is a great place to eat some fried clam strips and now they even have soft serve! Prices are ok, the only thing I would say is a little annoying is that they only take cash. Make sure you are aware of that before you go. Usually the food comes out pretty fast and fries are good too which is Important at a place like this. There is no indoor seating, but being out on the dock is super pretty and relaxing so you probably wont care as long as it is not too windy outside :)! read more

A Norwalk classic for decades and we have always loved it. Sadly their have been a bunch a subtle changes that have taken away from what overtons users to be. The hot dogs are different somehow and they are worse. Same with how the buns are done. Spicy mustard swapped for yellow sadly.
