I don't know how long this facility has been open but my guess is that it's one of the newest ones. It is huge and included a double court gym, cardio and weight training areas, lockers and shower rooms and my favorite: the pool! It has a lazy river (water aerobics!) with toys for kids and a long winding slide. Kids absolutely LOVE it. My nephew even had his birthday party there and everyone had fun. They have a variety of group exercise classes including boot camp, cycle, kickboxing, dance classes, yoga, Pilates, step, Zumba, and the list goes on! Their indoor pool is open year-round but make sure you go online (ymcatulsa.org) and check the schedule--same for group classes--before going. You can also sign up for sport leagues, they have basketball, soccer, flag football and more! They divide the groups by age: kids (3-8, 9-12) and adult. They also have other programs such as before and after school care. There are various events held throughout the year that are open to everyone such as their Halloween dance, thanksgiving run, Zumba marathon, etc. If you like them on Facebook, you'll know what's going on. As far as memberships go, it is around $50-100 (depending on family members). No members can swim for $5 and use the gym for $10.

Gym has good equipment and is kept clean. Staff is friendly and usually pretty helpful. I've never…read morehad any issues at this location, never seen trash someone left behind go unnoticed for very long or been treated rudely by the employees. The sauna is my highlight as it's available on any level membership and at least in Owasso has never been out of order when I've been in. The floor plan is quite spacious as well, all the equipment has good spacing from other machines and they have everything from freeweights, dumbells, kettle bells, cable machines, medicine balls, squat racks, treadmills, ellipticals, ect. So it most likely has whatever your comfortable with using and isn't limited to just dumbells and cable equipment like some other places. The clientele is relaxed as well no ones slamming weights or loudly grunting out every rep, and you've got people of every body type too from skinny to large like myself to the very inshape and muscular. All in all a great place to workout. They offer a basic and preferred membership available on month to month as well as 12 month agreements. It's $19.99 and $29.99 for basic and preferred month to month respectively, and subtract $5 to either option if you do a 12 month agreement. They charge an annual fee of $59.99 once a year which hits 45 days after you sign up which is annoying, but literally every gym does this including Planet Fitness and Crunch so what can you do I guess. If you sign up for the perferred 12 month and want to cancel it's $80 to buy out of the agreement, and the basic 12 month buyout is like $35, it's hilarious seeing the old reviews from people mad about this when it's in pretty plain text on the physical agreement as well as on the website when you go to sign, clearly a reading comprehension issue. Just don't get the year long membership if you want to avoid the buyout it literally couldn't be simpler. To cancel you just send an email which acts as your written notice to cancel, also stated plainly on every agreement, and I can only imagine it's boomers who can't operate a phone or computer upset about this because I personally find it convenient you don't have to physically go in to cancel and it takes all of 60 seconds to email 1 sentence with your name and membership location saying you'd like to cancel. I've joined and canceled and rejoined about 2 or 3 times now as some months I had to cut out extra expenses including the gym and it's so easy I feel like the complaints about this are just from people embarrassed they didn't actually read what they were signing. "You're telling me I have to send an email?? What do you mean I can't just terminate a 12 month contract early without a fee?? Well yes it takes almost no effort to type out a single sentence and no I didn't read a word of what I signed in 3 different places before I handed over my banking information, but I don't see how my incompetence is my own fault!" The only downside I'd say is it does take 30 days to cancel, so you either have to plan out canceling on the day your invoice is due or you will end up owing the next month's dues, but to be fair this is again stated in the "cancelation" part of the agreement so it's not a surprise or anything, but it is inconvenient and the only real criticism I have of the process. Not enough to take a star for though, as it in no way is a hidden cost provided you have an elementary reading level or, even better, just ask the staff "what does this plan cost to cancel and how long does it take" as I've heard them explaining it to new members when checking in before. But im sure the illiterate won't let a simple thing like common sense stop them from giving 1 star and screeching about how difficult they found breaking their side of the agreement they didn't look at is. So if you're thinking about joining up I'd definitely give this place a look, it's clean and probably has the equipment your looking for, and so long as you can read when you go over the membership options you wont have any problems.

I was very disillutioned with the findings of my search. I thought I would have to settle for a box of a building with a bunch of weights and a treadmill if I wanted to find a gym nearby. Thankfully, I noticed the huge "Now Open" sign outside Anytime Fitness when I was leaving Walmart's Neighborhood Market. It is so conveniently located! They offer a 7-day free pass to try the gym out but since I could not make it during their staffed hours (Monday - Friday: 10am - 7pm/Saturday: 10am - 1pm), I ended up just showing up for a tour. Now let me tell you a little bit about their customer service. Sam Detrick, the manager, is the very definition of AWESOME customer service. He greeted my mom (who was simply accompanying me) and I with a smile and positive attitude. He proceeded to welcome us and give us a tour of the place. Granted, it's not huge and half of it is still in construction, but it certainly has everything you need in a gym and it'd definitely bigger than other gyms in Owasso. Plus, since it has been opened for a little over a year, all the machines and equipment are pretty much brand new. Now Sam hooked us up. Yeah, "us". My mom wasn't even interested in joining the gym when we walked in but after talking to Sam she really didn't have a choice. Sam was so accommodating to all of our preferences and needs that it did not make sense not to sign up. Whether you're a fan of the treadmil or the elliptical, Anytime Fitness is a great fit for you. They also offer exercise group classes and personal trainer services. Zumba on Mondays and Wednesday is great. Super fun. Plus! How convenient is it that it is opened 24 hours?! It seriously cannot get any better than that. Practical, convenient, affordable. Love Anytime Fitness.
