So we have been looking for a dental service that does dental and dentures. It's not an easy search. The dentist that I researched had bad reviews or too few reviews to be reliable. The dentist I found that had good reviews didn't accept our insurance. Things got desperate when my wife broke her dentures. We happened to be in Owasso when this happened. The first place I came across was Aspen Dental. We stopped and walked in without an appointment. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We explained The situation with the broken dentures. She took them to the lab tech. Who said they can be repaired that same day. The sad part of this story is they do not accept our insurance. I left the dentures for repairs and left to wait for Aspen to call Informing me that the dentures were ready. I expected them to take a couple of hours to make the repairs. However I got the call in about thirty minutes. The denture repairs were great. I can't say anything about their dental work. All I can say is our experience with dentures repairs without an appointment was five star.

Before beginning the extraction, Dr. Ahlert did not appear to verify that the anesthetic had taken full effect. As soon as the procedure started, my daughter experienced significant pain and began sobbing. It was heartbreaking to watch, and I hope I never have to hear my child cry like that again. When I expressed concern that the anesthetic might not be working, the staff dismissed her pain and insisted she was only feeling "pressure." Rather than taking her distress seriously, her experience was minimized despite her obvious and intense reaction. Afterward, I learned from her regular dentist that infected areas can be more difficult to numb and often require additional anesthetic to achieve adequate pain control. Knowing this makes the experience even more troubling, as greater care should have been taken to ensure she was properly numb before proceeding. No child should have to endure avoidable pain during a dental procedure, and no parent should feel their concerns are being dismissed while their child is clearly suffering. Our experience left us deeply disappointed and upset.

Because of that, I spent my adult years avoiding dentists like they were trying to extend my car warranty. Last year, I finally put my fears aside and made an appointment with Custom Dental of Owasso and Dr. Gavin Biggs. Over the last 12 months, I've had what feels like an entire home renovation project completed in my mouth: extractions, implants, fillings replaced, crowns... if they offered frequent flyer miles, I'd be platinum status by now. My anxiety has been through the roof, but Dr. Biggs and his staff have been absolutely amazing at helping me through it all. Lauren and Amy have been incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate. I'm fairly certain I've qualified as a high-maintenance patient a few times, but they have never once made me feel that way. Instead of dreading appointments, I actually find myself thinking, "Well, at least I get to see my dental friends today." That's probably the highest compliment a nervous dental patient can give.
