The rain on the roof was a nice part, if it had to be raining. Our second trip was in The Mill House because we brought our dog. This is the one pet friendly cabin they have. Our most recent trip was in Deer Run, because our big kid wanted the loft. The loft is very roomy! My mother was from Elkin, so I like to visit the area. Nice day trips to the parkway, Stone Mountain, Mt. Airy, or even Blowing Rock. Of course, downtown Elkin is nice, too! The staff has always been responsive of any issues during any of our stays. I hear the wine tours are great, but we haven't tried any ourselves.

The facilities include a fire pit, tables and chairs outside, a grill in a cabana area, horseshoes and we took advantage of all of it! Convenient to quaint Elizabethton and Roan Mountain, and we rafted down the Watauga River with Wahoo Adventures. Plenty of time to rest, walk, play games, work on a puzzle and enjoy the peace and quiet. When you're ready to plug in you can enjoy the Direct tv and Netflix available! The owners are lovely people and our dogs loved playing with theirs. I highly recommend this location--it has made me rethink beach vacations and make mountain/river vacations the way to go!

I'm always weary of staying in rentals because I'm super picky with cleanliness, but Bee Cliff Cabins are spotless. The cabins are located in a remote location away from the city noise and are equipped with anything you may need for your stay. The kitchen has mugs, plates, pans, paper towels, napkins and utensils. The rooms are spacious and are kept clean and clutter free. The bathroom is stocked with plenty of towels for your stay. There was a TV in our living room with comfortable couches and a lazy boy which was probably my husband favorite thing from the trip ;). Our cabin had a deck with chairs, which my husband and I used in the mornings to enjoy our coffee. This was my first time staying at Bee Cliff Cabins but my husband and oldest son had stayed there before. We will definitely be staying here again. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it!

We decided to check out Paul's place because it was fairly close and he was so friendly on the phone when I called for more specific info. It's definitely a laid back and rustic environment but I was all in. Paul takes care of his customers and he was very adamant in teaching us the rules of the river before letting us launch. I had $60 in cash and he would only take $40 even thought the price was listed as $50. It's a great deal for you to kayak, paddle board and tube on the gorgeous river. We had it basically to ourselves that day and it was a revelation. The only thing I'd say is there needs to be upgrades to the life jackets. Most of them were child sized. However, all of the other equipment was well maintained. Please go and support this business!

The house was clean with plenty of room for everyone, kingsize bed, bunk beds, a futon and a couch that Wes did not want to get up from. The kitchen was fully furnished with everything needed to cook and eat, even two grills, gas and charcoal. A huge lot with plenty of parking for trucks and trailers, there are two fire pits, one in the front and one in the back. They even supply firewood. This place is the essence of West Virginia hospitality. Make sure you book a guided trip with Barry, he's the guy five minutes after you meet him you feel like you've known him for years. Barry knows the Outlaw trails like the back of his hand, He can take you from easy to hold my beer. We will be staying here again and definitely booking another trip with Barry. Out of all my trips to West by God Virginia to ride, this was the best.

What a beautiful place to come relax and enjoy a quick trip to the NC mountains... This quaint B&B…read moreis only a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway (maybe 5-8 minutes driving) and about 15-20 minutes drive to the Stone Mountain park. It is out of the way down a long driveway, and most likely you'll be greeted by their super friendly dog, Hunter. Jim and Margaret are great hosts, providing freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and lemonade upon arrival. The check-in process is short and sweet and they are available when you need them, but the place is big enough to give enough privacy despite the community spaces. I surprised my bf for his birthday and we came up just for one night. We stayed in the Yosemite room and it was perfect. The king bed was super comfortable, and the room had a ceiling fan, flat screen tv, electric fireplace (for ambiance and/or for heat), and the bathroom had a shower and a jacuzzi tub. It was right around the corner from the kitchen, so in terms of noise, you do hear the clinging and clanging of cooking and cabinets/drawers closing, but it wasn't a major issue for us. If you're sensitive to noise, then I would suggest getting a room on the second floor instead. Our room leads off to an external entrance to the back balcony/porch area so we could come and go from the back door instead of going through the house/common area which was nice. There is always access to coffee (fresh brewed in the morning or a Keurig for afternoon) and hot water for tea or hot chocolate. Upstairs, there is a small fridge that has complimentary can sodas and bottles of water for guests to have. I put our bottle of champagne there to chill. The highlight of the stay of course was the breakfast promptly served at 8:30a. We woke up to a beautiful spread and shared a nice breakfast with nice conversation with 12 other guests. It was family style, so we passed the food around and around until we were all miserably/happily stuffed. Margaret's famous cinnabuns were really delicious - super sweet and fresh. Overall - Everything was clean and just really done well with nice subtle touches throughout the B&B (ie. light music in the background of the common areas, fresh cut flowers in the bathroom and bedside, foaming bubble bath by the tub with a pillow, several candles in the room to assist with creating a romantic ambiance, super plush robes and Bath & Body Works shower products (soaps, shampoo, etc) to use... We definitely hope to come back and enjoy/relax again in the near future :)

This cozy little cabin has a loft bedroom with one bed and a half bath. Downstairs is a living room that is equipped with a pull out sofa bed, perfect of an eight-year-old. The grey stone fireplace and chimney occupy the center of the structure and are beautiful. The full kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, coffee-maker, cups, coffee, tea and there was a plate of fresh-baked cookies waiting for us on the table when we arrived. Just off the kitchen is a full bathroom with a fantastic Jacuzzi tub. But the piece de resistance: the most perfect "settin' porch" overlooking the creek behind. No kidding, the perfect spot for your morning coffee! In the mornings, we walked up the hill to the main house log home with another amazing porch. The innkeepers make a homemade sumptuous breakfast every morning. On the first morning, there was fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, baked grits. On the second morning, we had shirred eggs with ham, waffles, Moravian sugar bread, fruit salad. We enjoyed the breakfast at a common table with other guests, sharing our stories of our journeys and adventures. Delish!!

First, the pictures available online don't do justice to the beauty of the location. The cabin sits just above a burbling stream. It lies at the end of a mile-long gravel road with plenty of up-and-down, blind corners, and two gates. This feels like a truly secluded spot. It is visible from the road, which is just on the other side and above the stream. But, as we experienced in late July, the dense foliage obscures the cabin. The cabin itself is both well-equipped and rustic. The kitchen has most utensils and cooking equipment, including a rice cooker, electric skillet, toaster oven, microwave, etc. everything was older but clean and functional. There is a single full bathroom with shower and a half bath upstairs. A washer-dryer set is very helpful. Internet access is a plus because cell service is spotty or nonexistent. For fellow jigsaw puzzlers, the kitchen table is perfect for a 1000 or 1,500 piece challenge. The deck is absolutely lovely. Given the location, the sun didn't hit the cabin until mid-morning, and never fell under the roofed portion of the deck. We were able to sit outside from early morning to evening in relative comfort. We brought citronella candles, which kept the bugs away - but those weren't bad at all. The owners ask that you removed the trash and clean up upon leaving - a usual request. They also ask for guests to wash and dry the sheets and sweep/mop upon leaving - a less common ask. The bedding was adequate. Older pillows and a firm, creaky master bed could be updated. This is not a touristy area. Those lie north and east of here. We brought all of our own food. If you plan to eat out, or shop out regularly, you will need to drive some distance/time. Within an hour's drive - and you will need to travel to take in the area and get supplies - are several wonderful spots. Be sure to hike Stone Mountain State Park. What a beautiful, well-maintained park! Bring your bikes and complete the 20-mile round trip rail-trail between Todd and Freeport. Gorgeous, easy ride along the New Fork River. Get baked goods at the Todd Mercantile store. Boone has some shopping and organic groceries, but is a solid two-hour round trip. Looking for adventure. Drive north on the main road, take the gravel road (left) at the fork, and follow the mountain road about 5 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. One of us enjoyed that very much; the other less so given the hairpin turns and steep drops. We definitely recommend Blue River Cabin.

From the moment we opened the first entry gate, we felt like a wonderful adventure was about to begin. The cabin is spacious, spotlessly clean, and supplied with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing, totally peaceful getaway. Falling asleep to the sound of the rushing water and waterfalls ...well, it just doesn't get any better than that. We will definitely return, and several of our friends are already wanting to book a stay also!
