Went here for most of my life. Taught me everything from self control to discipline. Great family. Once a black belt always a black belt.

We're regulars at the 5:30 AM Zombie Class -- yes, it's early, but 100% worth it! The atmosphere here is welcoming, supportive, and full of positive energy. Everyone we've trained with has been incredibly patient, caring, and fun to roll with. The instructors are fantastic across the board -- Keith goes above and beyond, dedicating a ton of his personal time to help us grow. David is calm, patient, and excellent at breaking things down, and I've really appreciated Alex's wisdom and thoughtful insights as well. Whether you're a complete beginner or experienced practitioner, this is one of the best jiu-jitsu studios in town. I highly recommend dropping in and becoming part of the Infinite family!

However, the details of instruction and the friendliness of everyone at Infinite, from the owner to beginners, is unmatched. Gustavo (owner/instructor) continues to compete and master his own craft while stressing the importance of technique over brute force to students. I appreciate this approach as an older practitioner, especially after training overseas at an MMA gym which had the opposite mentality. Gustavo is also supportive of kids and adults who want to compete and does his best to be mat-side with them at tournaments. Regarding the kids classes, I also appreciate the few minutes he spends a with them at the beginning of class talking about their day and trying to connect BJJ lessons to proper behavior off the mat.

My pre-teen daughter has been attending Innovative Martial Arts for just over a year now, and I'm…read moreso grateful we found this school. Her first experience in martial arts was when she was two years old; she attended Primetime Martial Arts in San Jose. We loved the close-knit family atmosphere there, and we wanted that for her again when we moved back to Roseville when she was four. Once businesses began to open again after the Covid shutdown, we signed her up for a trial at Kovar's. I'm sure it has its benefits, but it wasn't a good fit for us. It felt too commercial with the instructors wearing microphones to project their voices. The atmosphere was just too business-like and not a warm and welcoming environment. Later we tried a BJJ studio in Rocklin on the recommendation of an acquaintance. I don't remember the name of the school, and it did have a better overall feel than Kovar's, but it still wasn't quite right for us. I don't remember any overt negatives about it; I just knew after the first visit that it wasn't what we were looking for, and my daughter immediately expressed the same as we left. After a fair amount of searching online, I found Innovated Martial Arts in Rocklin. We signed up my daughter for a trial, and she decided very quickly that it was the right fit for her. Mr. Nunneley has a great team of instructors; though, I have to say both he and Mr. Watson are truly excellent. They bring to class a sense of calm and are diligent in providing guidance to the students and correcting their form when appropriate; I very much appreciate that. My daughter is naturally shy and quiet, but Innovative MA has been a comfortable place for her to be vulnerable and learn since the beginning. Over the last year, she has noticeably grown more confident and self-assured, and I attribute much of this to what she's learned at Innovative MA. She's since progressed to greenbelt and sees herself staying with Innovative MA at least until she moves away for college in the future. I strongly recommend Innovative Martial Arts to anyone in search of a martial arts school for their child, and I sing their praises to all of my friends and family. Thank you, Mr. Nunneley, Mr. Watson, and the entire Innovative team for all that you've done and continue to do to teach my little girl!

The techniques are taught with a an emphasis on safety and properly learning techniques before using them on others. I feel this is very important. Several members of our family have been going here for over a year and we love the positive atmosphere and martial arts training. The school is always clean and inviting. There are lots of buddy days for the kids and fun camps available, as well as board-breaking days, a newly-formed junior demo team, and other activities to keep students motivated. In the adult classes, there is a strong emphasis on individual goal setting, with an understanding of the personal physical limitations that sometimes come with age. Everyone works to their personal best. The students and teachers are all great, and easy to work with. Classes are definitely a great evening activity for stress relief, and a fun way to get fit!

From day one, the instructors here have created a space that feels safe, supportive, and exciting. Sensei Hannah, Sensei Christian, and Sensei Ken don't just teach martial arts--they connect with the kids and teach important life skills. Another thing I really appreciate is how they meet my son where he's at, understanding his unique personality and pace, while still challenging him to push his limits in healthy, encouraging ways. Since starting here, I've seen such a boost in my son's confidence. I also really like how each class is a perfect balance of discipline, energy, and fun. The program feels not only rooted in learning martial arts skills but also in developmentally appropriate practices. They manage to keep every lesson engaging and relevant, and my son looks forward to class every single week (which says a lot!). If you're looking for a dojo that truly invests in your child's growth and development, both on and off the mat, this is the place. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Deceptive business practices!…read more We've had two children enrolled in his program for over six months who progressed out of his Basic Training program and earned their yellow belts. And we just recently withdrew from his program. Here's all you need to know before you decide to enroll your children in Mr. Weithington's Taekwondo: When your children sign up, they start in Basic Training. This is a ~6 month program where the children learn the basics of TKD. We were paying $450/month (for both kids) plus belt testing fees which for both children was approx. $100 every few months. This is a LOT of money but overall the program was reasonably well managed. Then after a few months, Mr. Weithington is going to reach out to you to schedule an in-person meeting so you can learn more about joining the Masters program and setting your children's Black belt goals, oh and also he wants to save you money! A quick google search about TKD and these programs suggest they are just a giant money-grab and to fast-track black belts. Needless to say we deferred on attending this meeting. What Mr. Weithington does not tell you upfront when you join Basic Training is that his Masters club is not optional. It's mandatory! And he wants more of your money! In our case, for our children to stay enrolled in his program he demanded $1,748 and to increase our monthly rate to $550/month for 35 months. Our children were doing great as yellow belts, and ready to test for their next belt, and out of the blue one day he notified my wife that they were not eligible to test for their next belt unless we joined his Masters program and paid him off. Needless to say we promptly withdrew our children from his program. He preaches integrity and ethics every day in his studio but fails to walk the talk in his personal dealings with his students and families. Avoid this program and his bait and switch.
