Giant Tiger is a good place to shop for bargains and discounted clothing, footwear, homegoods,…read moregroceries, produce, toys, paper goods, music, movies, small electronics, and miscellaneous goods, accessories & supplies. To described this Canadian superstore is an abbrevated version of Walmart, similar to where Walmart meets Dollarama (or Big Lots meets Aldi-in the USA). This Giant Tiger in Amherst (former Zellers store) offers a pretty good selection of food and merchandise and they offer a weekly sales flyer with good deals. The grocery section of the store (back section) offers the basics including the standard dry goods, frozen foods, produce, and bottled & can beverages. Some good deals spotted here included Banquet Frozen Dinners (88 cents), Campbells Can Soups (50 cents), Kraft salad dressings (99 cents), 5 lb potatoes (99 cents), Primo Spaghetti (1b-99 cents), and other great deals. The clothing selection here (mens, womens, kids) is pretty limited compared to competing discount stores (Winners, TJ Maxx, Walmart), but they had some pretty good deals including Boys Captain America T-shirts ($7.97), Mens Plaid Shirts ($10), Mens Cargo Shorts ($18), Womens Lily Morgan Crochet Trim Knit Tops ($12), and sales on ACX active wear (tanks, capris, tops, shorts). The selection of discounted music & movies (most $4.99-$9.99) was very limited too. There are also special buy Deal Alert metal crates throughout the store too. There is a good selection of quick snacks and candy strategically located near the front registers.

( Free customer service Tip # 1--Always greet customer even if you are talking with a buddy, it makes us feel like you value our business) Two other sets of customers came in after us and they were greeted and offered service so I thought to myself, " oh maybe it was just an oversight , no biggie then" Wrong. We saw about 4 or five employees as we walked around and not one acknowledged us and I did have questions. It was just an unfriendly vibe in there. Now on to the store itself There are no prices on anything but they do have price scanners but they do not work. We took an item to check the price and the message displayed " item cannot be found in inventory" Lovely. It is usually a pricey item but I did need it , but I was not going to ask unfriendly people who didnt even care if I was in their store. I wanted to leave since a weird customer began to stalk us through the store after looking me up and down. They have a lot of things for Rc cars building , painting, your own and the electronics. They have models some imitation Legos a few painting supplies but the bulk of the store is RC stuff. We walked out to the sound of crickets and will continue to shop online.
