She's only into it for the money. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. It is terrible how she treats everyone she makes you feel like you are nothing and mean nothing to her. She prices are outrageous and if you even make her mad she will kick all your family out and won't even bat an eyelash while doing it.

My husband brought me here on a little road trip for the day. Something new he never heard of and…read morethought would be fun to explore and he wasn't wrong. They do charge a minimal fee of $5.   A little history on the place.... Curwood Castle was the Writing Studio of James Oliver Curwood. Who n e 1920's was one of the highest paid writers. He also worked for the Detroit News at one point.  It was built in 1922 overlooking the Shiawasee River. The Castle itself is smaller than you would expect. There's a Great Room,  an upstairs that you get to by a very narrow winding spiral like staircase. There is also a downstairs area where they play movies based off of his books. It is said that there are well over 200 movies  made based on his books. If you are interested in history and exploring new things you definitely will want to check Curwood Castle out.

The museum was open when I arrived but my teenager wasn't a fan so I didn't go inside. The museum is open until 5 pm and there is an admission cost. It looks like a great place to write.

The building itself is situated beautifully on the grounds which makes you want to sit and look out the window while you are exploring. The Center features Local Artists pieces, Classes, and Monthly Exhibits where you can meet with the artists. Before you leave stop by the Gift Shop where you can pick up some creative gifts for yourself or a friend. .

I liked the North Pole express experience. All the staff were friendly. The train was nicely…read moredecorated. I would have liked a meal option on the train but the hot chocolate and cookie was fine but it was subpar quality. The staff did try though and were friendly. I would recommend playing Christmas music louder or some polar express music while on the train to create a better holiday ambiance. The village of ashley was a cute stop but it could have more there to do. I enjoyed overall experience and it was a fun thing to do during the holiday time.
