Luckily we were passing through East Lansing recently so Nate and I decided to check it out. The "museum" is located in an office inside of Abrams Planetarium at MSU. It's a few shelves of moist towelettes from all over the word, and the curator (Planetarium Production Coordinator John French) was so kind and fun to chat with. He gave us an overview of the collection and some highlights, including some Star Trek moist towelettes and a news article from an Australian newspaper about odd museums. He honestly made my day, he was so welcoming and friendly. I loved that there's a sign in sheet that asks if you collect anything. I don't think this museum gets a ton of visitors, but if you're into quirky collections I highly recommend checking it out. The office next to John's is not a "museum" but it could be, as it houses a big collection of PEZ dispensers!

They have some meteorite samples you can touch, and this super cool dark room that has artwork of the planets from the point of view of their moons. They also have some coloring activities for young children. It only takes about 20 minutes to see the whole thing, but it's a cool experience.

Admission is only $3.00 for the approximately 1-hour show. It was a bit boring at first, but got more interesting as the show proceeded on. The projection technology isn't state-of-the-art by any means, but it's good enough for a very interesting show. From what I understand, it was the first planetarium to rely solely on computer graphics for its projections, which it pretty cool. After the show, they set up a telescope outside, usually pointed at something cool like a planet) and let you take a look if the weather permits. It was cloudy last night, so we didn't get to experience this part of the show. Overall, I highly recommend this if you're looking for a relaxing, inexpensive thing to do on the weekend. It's great for anyone. Whether you go as a family, on a date, or just by yourself, you'll enjoy it. I would love to see this place get the funding to upgrade its projection system. I know this building is on the potential chopping block in the university's master plan, so that may be why they haven't made any changes. Rumor is that if they do tear it down, they will rebuild it somewhere else. We all know how promises like that don't always happen. This is truly a hidden gem at MSU. Check it out!

Nice small theater located in the parking lot of the Meridian Mall. When I looked this up I didn't…read morerealize it wasn't "in" the mall so I parked way on the wrong side of the mall. The good thing was, we enjoyed our walk through the mall and had plenty of time to figure out where we had to go. You get to pick specific seats but the are soft rocking type seats, not like the recliner ones I'm used to picking. Restrooms were conveniently located, the theater was clean and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. They have some sort of premium membership program but I didn't ask anything about it since I don't live in the area.

While the museum is small, they pack several meaningful and amazing exhibits in the halls each time we visit. I am a fan of contemporary vision. This place typically has a lot of work to reflect on and I love the multimedia displays. The kids have grown up coming here to reflect on their own interpretations of the displays and what it means to them. The staff and volunteers are friendly. They also have a cute area for gifts. I love he building architecture. And, if you are a fan of Batman, they did film some scenes in front of the museum, and being a fan of pop culture, that is pretty cool too!

The design of the building, by Zaha Hadid, definitely provides for a good photo op and sticks out among the brick buildings nearby. The first floor exhibit, featuring Syrian-American artist, Diana Al-Hadid, was gorgeous and engaging. The basement was called the "CORE" and was a Hodge podge of random art. I wasn't fond of how this was set up at all. I love art but other than the featured exhibit, we weren't engaged. The upstairs Mekong art exhibit was pretty cool but small and scattered. I am used to museums having places for students to research and study in. There's not a lot here. Also, there's not really a cafe and the shop is small. Cute stuff in the store though. Overall, the museum was worth checking out in the area but there's no need to make a special trip.

Launch, do not let these ladies go :). The place itself is also super nice - bball for my son, many kinds of trampolines, the laser tag that was included in the package we bought was super fun, and the arcade games that have are just the best ones there are are. The place itself was awesome. The only con was seemed a little overpriced- I hope they run some Buy One Get One Free deals on weekdays or something to get more customers in - I hope they stay open for next time I'm in town with my kids!

I recently visited for dinner - I"m single and always request a two-top so I don't take away from the server turning-over tables. My most recent visit I had the pleasure of being served by Rachael. Not only was the food and drink just what I expected, but the service, friendly personality, beaming smile and her presence was great. She was running all night at 100mph, but took the time to make me feel like her only customer. Whomever hired her needs to find another dozen! Service like this is why I am, and will be a repeat customer. Food is priced fairly, drinks are substantial, the servers are very knowledgeable about wine parings and present the drinks as the professionals they are.
