The books inside are individually priced, while the books outside are discounted to 10 or 25 cents based on which side it is on. I could have spent hours there. After selecting way too many books, I took them up to the counter to check out. As the friendly employee rang up the books, we chatted about D&D. Store has the musty, crunchy vibe you'd expect and it really suits the store. Employee that rang us up was very friendly and thanked us for stopping in. The bargains aren't as prevalent as they used to be pre-Ebay and Discogs, but there are still some deals to be had. The main thing about this store is that the owner, Sam, is a condition guy. He really only buys records that are in good shape. The jacket may be torn to shreds, but the disc inside will be near perfect, and those with shredded jackets are usually in his dollar bin. Every time I walk into this store I find something I've been looking for all over the place. He's got a great records throughout from his dollar bin to his collectibles section, you're sure to find something (if not several things) to suit your fancy. Downtown Records remains one of my top stores in the US. The only down side is that due to the owner's real occupation he's only open on Saturdays and closes up completely for tax season.

The location is big with lots of cool stuff packed into it. There's typically people on the second floor playing table top or CCGs. The staff is super nice and it was so cool to see a place like this in Burlington, NC. Highly recommended.
